Beware of of this auto service center.They advertise a price like on the building and charge a added 5.99 shop fee then tax. So a if you go in on the advertised $17.99 expect to get hit with a $5.99 shop fee plus Tax.Once I questioned the person who wrote the quote he took it off saying it was a mistake.When asked why the last time my wife was in she was charged a shop fee he replied it was for "the paper floor mats and stuff" we use not to get your car dirty. Two days after my wife's wheel aliment I noticed the hubcap was broken pretty bad.I figured the aliment machine bracket caught the hubcap when they pulled it off .It was too late to complain so I eat the cost of a new hubcap. Now being a month later I figure while passing that I'd grab a quick $17.99 oil change.That is when I noticed that shop fee again in-which I mention he took it off the bill.BUT yet again I come to find out they broke the oil dipstick while checking the oil.That was going to cost me another $17 because the said they break all the time. At this point I told them to just stop everything I just want to leave but I guess they had already put oil in the car and needed to check it.I had to wait for e new dip stick to make sure they even put oil in it. While protesting having to buy a new oil stick the manager,a young mouthy little arsa hole,started telling me how things were in my generation.Referring to my age and when I worked on cars they were different.Well whatever age I am I've pulled the dipstick on my Dodge charger not less than 100 times between both the late model Dodge cars and have never had a dipstick break.Im sure they do break but it seems more than normal having something break at this shop. The Manager was so cocky he was telling me to call the store owner though the thought never crossed my mind.However,I do want to warn everyone about this shop. I did get my 17.99 oil change,they decided not to charge me for the dipstick and shop fee,however I will never let my family use Uptown Auto for anything. read more

Arrived at Alliance around 7pm on Friday and went to eat. Made a trip to Walmart after dinner and when I went to stop, the brake pedal hit the floor. Made it back to the Holiday Inn Express without incident and ask around for a repair shop. The front desk recommended Uptown Auto Service next to the Texas Roadhouse, it was close so I took a chance. The plan was for a quick repair and onto the range by lunch, well that changed. What started as one line leaking ended up being three. By the time it was done all the lines were bad and they replaced them. I advised my predicament, 5 hrs. from home and I needed to leave Sunday. The mechanic and the Service Manager, John Marshall, stepped up and stayed three hours past close on a Saturday to finish the job. They could not find the brake line kit available on a Saturday, so they handmade all the lines and got the job done. They offered to take me to the range or back to the hotel while they repaired it, but a ton of gear would need to be transferred. The repair cost was fare for the time they spent and the inconvenience I caused them. I recommend these guys if you are in Alliance for training and need auto service or tire repair. read more

We came to alliance for a college visit and they did a Great job of getting my car back in shape after accident in the snow. They even gave us a courtesy ride to the college we were visiting and offered to pick us up. I never thought they would have it done that fast and we made it all the way back to Atlanta in one piece. But car still needed lots of work. read more

Similar story to the previous review. Have been going here for YEARS. Since they were on the corner of Rockhill actually. Apparently before they got too big to care. We've always liked them because they had okay prices for oil changes, and always recognized us when we walked in. However, recently they've more than pissed me off. I took my car in for new tires, already paying $700, and I asked them to change my headlight without realizing it would cost $150! In the past they called to make sure it was alright to perform any work costing a decent amount of money, but I was in for a pleasant surprise with this one. Then my car started making a noise near the front right tire, and I took it in, not once, but twice. The first time they told me it just needed some grease, the second time they told me it would cost $780! The third time I took it to Dave's auto, who fixed it for free because it was something loose rubbing on my tire...which had probably resulted from it not being tightened when I had my tires changed! Needless to say I am no happy and will no longer recommend this place to anyone. read more

I had an issue with something loose under my car. I took it to Uptown to get it looked at. The manager, Mark, was very friendly and helpful. They got the car in and found what could have been a major issue with the front ball joint on the driver side. While they had the car, they checked the brakes and other mechanical issues. They came back with a short laundry list. To my surprise, there was no high/pressure push to fix everything. The suggested a time line of how long the problems would hold up and when in the future I should look to do additional repairs. They fixed the ball joint at a reasonable price. I appreciated the thoroughness, professionalism, and low-pressure way that Mark conducted himself. Nice to find an honest and reputable mechanic. I'll be returning there again. Thank you. read more

Don't do it!!! We've been steady customers over the past couple years and the service has been pretty good. We've recommended them to friends and relatives, but never again. This was the second time we've taken our van in to get new tires and both times they failed to tighten the lug nuts. After this second time, we thought they couldn't have done it again and took it back. They told us we needed new tie rods. When we took the van in for the third time, they couldn't get into it. We left it unlocked and somehow Uptown got it locked. We ended up having to call AAA to get into the vehicle. Uptown called back while the tow truck driver was enroute to tell us they had the wrong van and would begin working on OUR van shortly. I had to call AAA back to turn the driver around...it will cost against our yearly quota. Uptown called back and said we didn't need new tie rods and that whomever worked on it last failed to tighten the lugs on the front tires. I informed them that they were the last ones who worked on it and my husband has been driving to work (hours away) all week on loose lugs. read more

Gary M. is an idiot. Shop fees are a regular part of automotive shops. They cover the things that it would be silly to charge you individually for. Not just stuff to keep your car clean. If something was messed up you just tell them. If they don't make it right then you can whine about it. You paid for the damage because "you figured". It's not their fault you're dumb. Quit crying about the service you received when you make it sound like you barely gave them a chance to make, what might have been, an honest mistake right. Stop being a vagina and complaining to an online review before the shop was given a chance to fix it. This is a good lesson for anything involving customer service. So quick we are to complain. When I previously took my vehicle there for an oil change, I received it back with oil fingerprints all over the interior of the car, above the driver's seat. A second time, I called to check their oil change price and to confirm that they do indeed change the oil and do not simply filter through my original oil (as I have been warned by several people that some companies do). I was regarded quite rudely with "Seriously? Is that a joke? What company are you with?" Both instances display a lack of professionalism, poor customer services, and overall rude employees.
