I hired Prime Inspections (Frank Macak) to conduct the home inspection (using the City Package option on their website) and it was absolutely worth every dollar. We accompanied Frank during the nearly three hour inspection, and we were both stunned by the thoroughness and professionalism Frank displayed. His work so clearly betrayed an impressive depth of experience and talent, and we both remarked afterwards how he seemed like a kind of Inspector Gadget or Dr. House of home inspections, as he went around the house, finding issues and in some cases using his screwdriver to demonstrate issues visually. While we were depressed with the results and had to walk away from purchasing the home, we are glad that we hired Frank to have our back for the inspection. Ultimately, his eagle-eye saved us from what would have been a regrettable money pit, and the inspection paid for itself many, many times over. Thank you to Frank, Hildy & Prime Inspections!

We were blessed to inherit a 200 year old historic family farmhouse in the Catskill Mts. As can be expected, many changes and upgrades were made over these many years and continue now. We had Frank evaluate it's condition 8 years ago and with his spot on knowledge and recommendations we were able to make most of the major and minor improvements needed for the safety and structure of the house. We recently contacted Prime Inspections once again to have Frank reevaluate the work that was completed at his previous suggestion. He took equal and through time to inspect our property as before. We couldn't agree more with the previous positive reviews of Prime Inspections. We wish all trades had this professionalism and warmth of Frank & Hildy!! C&M Suter

When we contacted him a month later about concerns we had that the system wasn't functioning correctly due to repairs made to the sump pump where it was installed, he begrudgingly came back to check on the system. At that point he became irate, saying the system was working fine (even though the liquid in the J tube had nearly disappeared completely, so there was no way for us to gauge the system), and then demanded cash for his inconvenience, which we regretfully paid him. No repairs were made, not even to the broken gauge. He stated he would write a report documenting the visit. When we got the report, it cited a number of things that needed to be corrected, which he did NOT mention at his visit. We assumed the report was not a matter of urgency since he stated at the visit nothing was wrong and he had not made any arrangements with us to fix the problems AND since some of the information in the report was erroneous. We are writing now because we have recently found out that we have radon levels in our basement 10x the acceptable levels, and we will never forget how awful he was! Basically, he lied to our faces by stating everything was fine, then sent a report citing problems, and then never followed-up with us about his poorly installed system to make sure we were safe. We find this unacceptable.
