Upon getting to the front of the line and getting called on to come over to desk, the woman working behind the counter just seemed burdened. She made eye contact with maybe once or twice. She was rapidly tapping a pen on the counter in a manner that definitely made me feel like I needed to hurry up. When I asked if she could go check for the package, she loudly sighed but she went. I'm not even sure if she honestly looked. There were many other little mannerisms that she did that were bothersome. The service that she provided was AWFUL. I left the post office pretty ticked off. The only reason this received one star is because Yelp won't allow you to give it zero stars. It only reaffirmed why UPS is better.

They finished the outside, which looks beautiful, but then apparently did not have the money to finish the inside. So the courthouse sits with a chain link fence around its perimeter, with boarded windows, but otherwise a majestic monument to justice. Whether or not anyone can use it, it still looks nice, and they do a great job lighting it up at Christmas. Hopefully one day they will get the funds to finish the job. Until then, the very boxy and ugly current county courthouse to the west does all the state court business. P.S. I've been there more recently (as recently as Jan. 2007) and it looks like the work continues. The parking lot is fenced and more work is being done on the perimeter. Still cannot tell what if anything is being done INSIDE the building, though.

The East Texas Treatment Facility goes above and beyond to create opportunities for residents to succeed. However, success here like anywhere else depends on the individual's willingness to put in the work. If they don't, they will fail. This program is a valuable alternative to serving years in prison and should be taken seriously. Is the facility perfect? No, but no place is. What stands out are the continued improvements being made with the residents' well-being in mind. There are numerous initiatives available for those willing to invest their time and effort. To those former residents who call this place a "joke," I'd say this: if you didn't engage with the program or take advantage of what was offered, the only joke is how seriously you took your recovery. Likewise, this facility invests in its employees. Negative reviews from staff are disappointing, especially when they come from individuals who clearly aren't invested in personal growth. If you're unhappy and unwilling to contribute to positive change, then you won't be able to help the residents you're meant to support. In that case, it may be time to seek opportunities elsewhere. I encourage everyone to do their own research. Visit their Facebook page to see the many positive things happening at the facility--I've even shared photos from there. While the program isn't without flaws, I strongly believe it deserves a more balanced and fair assessment than it's currently receiving.

He got one phone call to let me know that he was there. He had no money to use the payphone. He used a roommate cell phone to call me. The roomate agreed to let me sent money to him. My son never got the money. The facility threw my son out when he confronted the roomate. They did not do any investigation. The police who came to get my son was also notified; they did not do any investigation. I filed a report with Corecivic. The half-way house told Corecivic that no cell phones are allowed at their facility. Please call the half-way house when your loved one goes there and find out what are their rules and regulations. I don't want anyone to go through what I am going through.

The meals are repetitive and often lack any kind of diversity or flavor. The staff are hit-and-miss. Definitely could use some training to improve the customer experience. I didn't feel as if the customer was right at all. And what's worse... the staff knew it. The environment overall was less than peaceful. Getting enough rest or finding quiet time to read was a constant struggle. The beds were very uncomfortable and I didn't get the support that I'm used to. Think of sleeping on a hard surface with a blanket for a mattress. The amenities were reasonable. The television has a nice selection of channels and the acoustics provide a surround sound experience. The shower had excellent water pressure and was always a comfortable temperature. Transportation from the establishment is rough yet punctual. Words like confining or shackling come to mind. Audio is controlled by the driver, and they are terrible dj's. Overall I would NOT recommend this for a stay.

I drove 110 miles to Tyler to my 910am appointment to be told by the representative and supervisor/manager that appointments are no longer needed at the SS Administration that you can just walk in to any location. They both graciously apologized to me. Thank you so much for your organization, team, and integrity regarding the policies at this location. I was able to get my name changed super fast. I hope other offices can be like this one!
