Specifically, this courthouse in Marshall, TX has become perhaps the most preferred place to file big patent lawsuits in the entire country. More than $200 million in verdicts have been entered in the last three weeks alone. As a result, some of the top technology trial lawyers in the country fly in constantly to wage war here. If you are in the area, and you like that kind of thing, it would be worth calling to see if opening statements or closing arguments are about to happen in one of these huge cases. The courthouse itself has been renovated, and it is nice, but note that you can't bring your cellphone in with you, so leave that in the car. Plus, the wood benches look better than they feel, and people actually bring cushions in with them to sit on. Finally, the left side has better views of the media screen, and the screen tends to be used a lot in these cases.

And not only are patent cases tried here, but also other cases of local interest, including personal injury cases. Some of the best trial practitioners in the country practice in Texas and they are often called on to try cases in this courthouse. Not to be missed!!

I've had mail shown delivered at my mailbox nowhere to be found. Today, I went up to the post office and attempted to speak with the postmaster. I was again missing mail, two packages. After being told she wouldn't see me , I told them I'm not leaving until I speak with her. The postmaster, Daphne Moore, came out from the back of the office, my packages already in her hands, which showed delivered to my address in their system from yesterday. She immediately met me with an attitude and refused to address my concerns. Offered no help, no apology, or anything. Just a simple search of her name on FB shows that I'm not the only person that has had issues with this postmaster. I'm not the only one on my street that has been having issues with mail delivery either. Several times we have gone days without anyone on my street receiving mail. I've already filed complaints regarding the postmaster's behavior and the carrier's inability to deliver mail. I'm sure it's to no avail. Another governmental employee that collects a salary with no accountability. There are good people up at the post office. This isn't directed at you, but after interacting with this woman, I'm sure she isn't much of a supervisor either.
