Tip: If your package requires a signature, it means nothing to the UPS driver. Your package will sit on the doorstep of your home without a signature, in the elements, without a door knock or a doorbell ring. I recently upgraded my phone to a Google Pixel 10 Pro XL. My previous phone, the 8 Pro, started losing its charge rapidly within the last couple of months. Bummer, as I loved that phone that was over two years old. I ordered my new phone from the Google Store. I got an estimated shipping date. Shipping this phone to my home required a signature. It makes sense. It's an expensive device. Phones aren't cheap! My shipment was scheduled for Tuesday, April 7. Great! On this Tuesday, I got an e-mail saying that my shipment would be delivered on Wednesday, April 8. A day later would have been okay, except that I'd be at work. There was no way for me to change the delivery to my local UPS store. After having lunch at home on Tuesday, I checked my inbox and I got a UPS message saying that my order was delivered. I was home on Tuesday for the entire day. The UPS person neither knocked, nor rang the doorbell. The instructions say to get a signature. The UPS person placed the box on my doorstep and left. My phone was out in the elements for nearly two hours. Not cool. I got a store credit from Google. The funds were enough to get a pair of Google Pixel Buds 2a, which are the budget-friendly earbuds that supposedly fit better in your ears. I typically don't do well with such types of earbuds. It was UPS delivery again. No signature was required this time. No change of date. Nice! I wasn't home when the delivery happened on Monday, April 13. The package was left on my doorstep. It was raining that day. It wasn't off to the side of my doorstep, away from the rain. It wasn't placed in my mailbox on the side. It was placed directly in the rain. I called my dad and asked if he could swing by after my parents were done having lunch to pick up my wet box. He did, thank goodness! UPS is the lesser of the two evils when you put Purolator in the mix. UPS delivers. It simply leaves packages out in the open for potential porch thieves to swoop in and take them. UPS drivers can neither read, nor use their frail arms. My first package said that it required a signature from me. I never signed for the package. It was left on my step without ringing the doorbell or knocking on my door. Pitiful. I would have been upset if someone had stolen both my deliveries from my doorstep. I'm pleased that my earbuds were dry after the box containing them was left in the rain. Such a dumb move on the UPS driver's part. I pass by this UPS location weekly when I'm driving home from work. It's across from York University. Decent location. However, I feel that a refresher course on what it means to deliver a package that requires a signature is in order. (164) read more

Recently I wanted my vintage Nakamichi cassette deck repaired. I found a Nakamichi technician in Michigan, USA who offered to do the repair. I spoke to him and sent my deck across the border to him through Canada Post. He did the repair and sent the deck back to me via UPS. I soon after received notice that they would be delivering my deck but there was a border fee of $209. This sounded high to me so I contacted Canada Customs and explained the details of this shipment. They informed me that my border fee should be $93 and that they constantly received complaint about UPS of the same nature as my complaint. They informed me that I could do a 'self clearance' of the parcel by coming into their office in Malton and paying the $93 and receive a Proof of Payment document to take to UPS to have my parcel released. I then contacted UPS and let them know that I had contacted Canada Customs with concerns over the high fees. In short, they was very reluctant but did admit (after a 20 minute conversation/argument) that they had indeed over-charged me and I did only owned $93. I think it had something to do with the fact that I let them know that I was considering taking legal action against UPS over this. Spitefully, they informed me that they would not deliver my deck until I went to the customs office to get the Proof of Payment document, then scan and email a copy to them. I did that. It was a 4 and a half hour trip to do that I emailed them this Proof of Payment document and received a response from them. They informed me that it would take 24 hours to process my request after which time they would deliver my deck. I am still waiting for my package! I also believe this is likely a directive from their head office to add addition fees to all deliveries. I can't believe that is just my local UPS outlet that is perpetuating this fraud. My fear is that is nationwide. Let's face it, when a UPS delivery guy comes to your door with a package and wants a border fee, most will automatically pay what they ask not knowing they are likely being gouged. They just want their package. I certainly have been telling all my friends and family of this ordeal, strongly suggesting they never patronize UPS. So I didnt have as bad a time there as some others. I know a lot of reviews are written out of frustration. I can see how a mistake could send people to yelp to complain. Location : Steeles north of York University. Where you can find some of the worse traffic in the GTA Parking: A small private lot for the customer care users (us) Building: There's a security building that I mistakenly went into. Don't go in there. They'll direct you to the customer service area. Fun fact: they check all employees bags and wand them for metal before and after every shift. To get your parcel you go to a room that is smaller that I expected. Theres 6 chairs and a big ledge. Its air conditioned and theres a big tv showing cable pulse 24. Process: You go to the counter, let them scan the ticket that the UPS delivery person left at your home and show your identification. They they leave and go.get your letter or parcel. It's in another budding and they have thousands of parcels so it takes about 10 minutes. I read it took others longer there was probably a problem. Everyone where I was got theirs in about 10 minutes or so. They then bring your parcel double check your identification and its yours. I had picked up.something big and heavy and they guy brought it out to my car with the dolly and put it in the backseat for me. So nice. Actually everyone was nice. The 15 minutes I was there another staff member helped a woman sort out a really important mistake that she ( the customer) made. . I got my package 15 minutes after I walked in ( it took effort to get) and the guy even brought it on the trolly to my car and put it in the backseat!! . So this time was great. read more

Worst company ever!!! One of the drivers lett a notice at my door with only the words "pay online $48.56" nothing more. No tracking # or anything. UPS cannot find the package at all, even with the infonotice # on the slip. The company that sent it has no information as well. I'm shocked at how unorganized they are. Totally clueless! So my package is floating around somewhere. They are the most incompetent courier service I've used. Never use them!!! read more

I have been trying to get a copy of an invoice since April 2023, it is now Oct, still don't have the invoice even though they said they mailed it out several times. I asked for an emailed copy, they told me "We can not do that" but they could email me to tell me they were working on it. They are liars. They never attempted delivery, but they lied they did. I stayed at my office until 8pm to receive the delivery. They change the status of delivery whatever and whenever they want. Waited home for 8 hours to receive a package that was in extreme need off, as I paid for 2 day shipping From a supplier. The package never came, tracked the package only to find out ups changed the status to "undeliverable due to funds not collected". I was home. For 8 hours no one came to my door!! I called the customer service, they said sorry but they can't do anything and that I would have to wait for tomorrow, and they can't guarantee a time frame. So they want me to waste another 8 hours of my life waiting for a package? They woman in customer service knows the depot closes at 12pm, but still tells me too, call back in the morning to pick up at 12pm. Worst customer service, very poorly run, bad company in general, every time you call the number they give you different information they can't even located the package, said it was out for delivery, that was a lie, said it was at the warehouse and ready for pick up, I showed up at the warehouse, it was still in the states. What can I say about UPS that has not already been said in these reviews? This company is just awful in every way imaginable. Their online tracking system updated around 10am on the Thursday stating that the parcel is "Out for delivery". Okay great, so I waited for the courier. About 3-4 hours later, the status changed back to "In transit", and now the expected delivery date was Friday. So now I had to wait for the parcel the next day as well. Of course, this being UPS, the parcel never arrived on Friday either. It eventually arrived on Saturday with the status still stating "In transit". What a bunch of clowns! And of course, the cherry on the cake is that the parcel arrived looking like it had been drop-kicked to my door. Ugh! read more

If at all possible, never, ever use UPS to ship anything. All the negative reviews are true. I am still waiting for my package to arrive from the US SEVEN WEEKS after it was shipped. Attempting to track it is useless. It's been "in transit" for weeks, with no change in status and no estimated delivery date. History states the driver attempted 4 times to deliver the package, which is an outright lie. I've been home every day for weeks. Calling Customer Service is useless too: I was kept on hold for more than an hour on two separate occasions, only to be told both times someone would call me back. Shockingly enough, no one did. I've filed a claim and heard nothing. Meanwhile, I paid $200 US for my item, $150 US to ship it and $90 duty & import fees with nothing to show for it. So...if you are ok with companies who drop off packages containing $1200 electronics at the end of your driveway, in the rain and not alert you--then UPS is for you. I would like someone from UPS to care not to give me a stroke from stress, but rather, maybe, just maybe possibly care just a little bit about customer service and, I don't know, deliver a package properly just once. This particular sorting centre has been consistently, over the years horrible and outright liars and never have a supervisor call back when they promise too. Packages said delivered not delivered, or we missed you, but literally lying when front facing cameras outside my home seeing no vehicle at all. And me or adult relative being present at home awaiting the package, having zero contact with any driver never coming. When you ask for a supervisor callback from the centre no one calls back. Basically you get laughed at. Does anyone at UPS, at any level, have any pride to respond to me or are you just laughing more at my message and post and saying who cares? Really, am I going to have to take up civil litigation and possibly press criminal charges of fraud against UPS involving even Canada Customs and the Federal government? UPS most certainly is the worse shipping company compared to all the other ones. I can assure that there wasn't 1 time in my life that I have received a UPS package properly and not having to drive to the facility to pick it up. With this particular package they apparently said that they were delivering the day before so I waited at home... nobody knocked on my door and the update on UPS says they "attempted delivery" which is just BS since I was home the whole time during the time of delivery. I called the next day to complain since I changed the delivery so I can pick it up at UPS since the drivers don't know how to deliver for their lives. The lady on the phone said unfortunately the package is already on its way to my house and my request will be in effect the next day which is tomorrow, BUT they will ATTEMPT DELIVERY today before 7:00pm. AGAIN, I waited the whole day for the package and NOBODY SHOWED UP. This is ridiculous since now I have to call AGAIN tomorrow to see what had happened. The "closest" facility is a 30-40 min drive from Toronto which doesn't make any sense. Now I know to ask sellers to ship with USPS to Canada Post instead of just UPS. read more

I REFUSE TO USE UPS EVER AGAIN!! Over 2 weeks waiting on my package. Finally get notification it was ready for pick up. Spent 3hrs waiting for employees to find my package only to be told they cant find it. Employee said the warehouse is a hot mess, packages are broken, damaged, lost by employees. There is no organization. Was told that maanagment doesnt care and throws up thier hands and hides in thier office to let the frustrated, over worked and under staffed employees deal with everything. Trucks are dumping shipments on the ground where there is room and just leaving everything where they can. No one at UPS cares about customer service!! I have called UPS and hung up on, FB rep said sorry nothing I can do about and to have the shipper file a complaint. My shipper DID TRY TO FILE A COMPLAINT AND WAS TOLD SORRY NOTHING THEY CAN DO ABOUT IT!!! No reply yet on twitter. THIS COMPANY IS CRAP! Not just this location but the whole company. If I could give a negative number I would. Minus 1 is the rating they deserve. I ordered hair products online via USA company - a large black population so I get the stuff relatively easier. This deliver in February 2017- which I do not yet have thus far folks!! 3 days and counting. I paid for the customs duties in advance of delivery via credit card and have my email confirmation to show for it. However, the UPS driver is either NOT in the loop, illiterate or a scam artist trying to shake down customers for more money. I call the LATIN American aka code for Canadian customer service phone line -1-800- and I am fed the "corporate sentence" and phrases. They know I paid the duties and cannot figure out why the driver is demanding more payment. They claimed the dispatcher will be calling me back in one- hour of course they never do. They claim a supervisor will call be back, of course they never do. I had asked them: 1. There is perhaps more charges on the package- which I do not think so for the UPS driver never leaves proof of unpaid duties in terms of a waybill copy. 2. Poor communication among the many useless telephone teams. 3. The UPS driver is a scam artist and wants to request more money from customers. 4. GROSS INCOMPETENCE!!! I called the company I deal with in the states. They now have a big NOTE stating if they only use UPS as the shipper for my account. I will cancel the order and black list the business moving forward with a very negative review. UPS is by far the WORST shipper out there in Ontario. How does this company stay in business in Ontario- one has to question? I will not be surprised in years to come that the Canadian operations have a marked well- deserved market /business decline. I have had very large checks, confidential files shipped to my home using Fed-Ex and Purolator Couriers without """ANY""" issues. What a peculiar place. The only worth I received from it is the peace of mind that stems from the fact that I will never use UPS again. I find it fascinating that in a behemoth of a complex that must cover over 30 acres of land, UPS was only able to dedicate a small 150 sqft area for their "Customer Centre". Most of those who want to pick their packages up must arrive after delivery truck drivers return but before the complex gates close. That's a 30 minute window to make it in. Then, you and 20 people you've never met wait a while. I only had to wait for an hour- fortune was on my side. It got to the point that we would cheer when packages were brought to the small small room and one of us was in a position to leave. read more

I'm writing this as I wait at the ups centre for my package which I've arranged to pick up. It's been 40mins so far. It's taking over 40mins to pick up a package. There are other customers waiting around me, they've been here for over 2hrs to get their stuff. By contrast, it takes me 5mins to pay customs and pick up my packages at fedex. Never using UPS ever again. Update: it took almost an HOUR to pick up my package. The credit card machine ran out of paper and the cashier put in a new roll of paper in the wrong way, adding an extra holdup to the whole ordeal. read more

Got a notice on the 17th saying I did not add the apartment number. Its not being delivered to an apartment, it was a high school that's open all day. So do the drivers not read the address and then look to see if it matches whats on the building? And then notice that its a high school so there is no apartments inside? Was away on vacation for a week so I missed my package deliveries. I had to pick up my package from this location and it was an absolute disaster. Waited almost two hours for my package. The unbelievable part is that there were 3 people working the front desk. I actually had to call the company I ordered the package from to change my shipping options. The problem with UPS is that when a parcel is not delivered there is no help whatsoever to hold employees accountable or to seek direct assistance from local management to try and resolve issues. I had 3 parcels misdirected in 6 weeks. I spent a lot of time calling the 1-800-742-5877 to seek help from their 'supervisors' who are in the Philippines. On 2 occasions, the Filipino 'supervisors' told me that the company personnel in the Concord Ont depot do not answer their calls or heed their requests. What you get are apologies, obfuscations, kept on hold forever and the call suddenly getting terminated whilst waiting to talk to 'escalation' manager. The UPS website is useless. It is formatted to deliberately deflect solving problems as one cannot get in touch with a human being who can actually follow up and rectify. I was supposed to get a parcel yesterday. I got an online message 'missed you'. The driver NEVER came to my house as I was waiting in the sitting room all day. You cannot hold the driver accountable of either going to the wrong address or feigning to come to your address because the company is not proactive to serve customers who encounter difficulty directly. They really do not care but pretend to do so by putting up a nice looking website and by providing the 1-800 number to deflect solving problems by having trained personnel apologize profusely but incapable of solving issues. I made a $1500 laptop purchase 3 weeks ago. I'm still waiting on my delivery. Initially, I didn't input the floor number of my building so the address was incomplete. However, no one contacted me about this until I had to find out myself after a long process of talking with several customer service reps (both from the laptop company and UPS). That's because the tracking number I received by email was invalid so I couldn't be kept updated on the UPS website. I call back to add info to the delivery address. I wait a day, no updates, no delivery. I call back UPS and they tell me the person I spoke with over the phone did not submit my request to change the address. My request was just left in the air like that. My package is still apparently sitting in the Concord location. I called UPS again and requested to go in-person to pick it up. I can't rely on UPS to responsibly deliver my package on time. The rep said she can submit the form to have it delivered tomorrow, but this is the 3rd rep who's told me that already in the past 3 weeks. Eff that. UPS is completely negligent of their customer orders. Poor coordination, untrained or incompetent customer service agents, bad delivery response rates. I DO NOT recommend UPS if you have other delivery options. read more

This is the second time that I am supposed to receive an order. I was waiting for a critical part that I needed to get my machine going and followed up continuously. I called late morning to make sure my package would be received. I was told that I would be getting a phone call by the dispatch supervisor and that I could confirm it's delivery. I received a phone call back and was told I would have my package and it was on route for 5pm at the latest. Didn't get the package and called back-I was told it was on route and it would be received by 7pm. Again I expressed the urgency and was assured it was on route and would be receiving it by 7pm. NO PACKAGE-and no one at the office to receive calls or speak with! They are not open on weekends and the literally screwed us over. I had ordered an item from the Eastern USA and all was going well till the package arrived in Concord ON (don't get it mixed up with the ups store in the same city, those guys are GREAT!) and there it has been sitting for 3 weeks or so. I've been reading reviews on 411 ca and Yelp and I'm shocked, to say the least. My experience has been negative as well. Maybe UPS as a whole, is doing all right, but they've got some SERIOUS issues with the location in Concorde. No wonder the building and grounds like a prison compound. I should have read the UPS reviews before I chose them for delivery. I had a choice US postal service or UPS, I selected UPS because it was the default choice at the seller's website. They made 2 unsuccessful delivery attempts because nobody was home. So on the 3rd day I took a vacation day waiting for the delivery. It never came. The reason? "Our driver requires security access for this delivery. We are attempting to obtain the access information." So I figured they would resolve the situation the next day. So I waited whole day at home. The delivery never came. Why? the same reason as the previous day. Now I am going to pick up from their Steeles centre. The clerk at this UPS location in the north part of Downsview is very professional and helpful. Just one problem. Only one staff person on the counter and a long line up. And I have a disability that makes it painful to stand for long periods. And every single seat in the UPS Centre was taken up by people waiting for packages or their friends or their kids! So I had to stand. And stand. Because I had to sign for a delivery :( So either UPS hires one more staff member, or gets more seating, or gets a bigger office with more room for customers! I don't look forward to ever having to do another pick up, let alone something I want to deliver here! NOT disabled friendly at all. read more

My package was scanned in Concord, 20 miles from my house, and then the package was shipped to Kentucky! Back in Concord to be delivered, all of this by their own tracking and scanning. Guess what? Looks like a prison from the outside (barbed wire and guarded gate) and even looks even worse inside. Counter staff are clueless or hostile. One took off just after they opened leaving one person to handle the huge line. I gave them tracking number and they said package was sent back to shipper. I told them I had spoken to a UPS agent earlier on the phone and they said the package was being held for pick up. Counter person then says "oh, okay we'll see if we can find it" They took over 40 minutes to locate my package. Others in line waited even longer. One poor girl had a spider land on her head which fell from a vent. This place is pure hell and more like a 3rd world experience. No concern for customer service and supremely incompetent management. Plus they close for 4 hours in the middle of the day??? My delivery was to East York yet I have to drive 1.5 hours in heavy traffic to concord to pick up. Canada Post, Purolator and FedEx all have depots within a few minutes drive from my home. I will NEVER use UPS ever again and will refuse to buy from stores that use them as a courier. read more
