My first baby and now I'm so traumatized i don't know if i want any more. I was scheduled to be induced and they ended up giving me an emergency c section mainly because of my weight (im plus sized) they treated me horrible cuz of my weight. Super unprofessional, Dr. Livingston and Dr. Syad did my c sections and i was so uncomfortable they didn't explain anything to me, i ended up having a panic attack so bad in the operating room bc they didn't explain what was happening and i was so worked up they took forever to get let my boyfriend come in the OR which made things so much worse. Not to mention i told the dr. How the midwife had treated me so poorly and all she had to say was "my eyes only look forward" me and my boyfriend couldn't believe how they had treated me! Super uncaring and cold! ALSO I ENDED UP GETTING A HUGE ABSCESS INFECTION AFTER MY C SECTION. I had to be in the hospital for 7 days and ripped away from my newborn because these so called Drs. Dont know how to do their jobs!!!! I could sit here and write an entire novel on how they acted towards me but i dont have the time (obviously). DO NOT EVER go here you will regret it just like i did!

We have used OBGYN of Lancaster for our 2nd miscarriage and now currently for our first birth (to be). Dr. Livingston (at the Etown campus) is amazing. With our miscarriage she explained everything, was straightforward and to the point, yet also held emotional space for us. I never felt rushed out with her and really felt she wanted to help us the best that she could. She akways took time to connect with me as a patient and it's evident she takes pride in her work. I would trust her completely. She was also patient with next steps, as we wanted time to heal before moving forward. When we did move forward, she did a procedure/test for me that was extremely uncomfortable, but she was so quick and efficient, (even though I'm sure I could've done my part better to make it easier for her). She did an excellent job and gave me results immediately. For our current pregnancy, we've been primarily at the Lititz location so we could meet more providers. We have enjoyed every midwife we've seen (Terri, Adanma, Erin, Jessica, Patti), and as far as doctors we've seen (Livingston, Satorie, Fromuth). We have been pleased with all of the doctors until today's NST/Biophysical Appt. (thus the docking of the 5th star). We enjoyed Dr. Fromuth in each visit prior, but today he treated us differently. Our results from the NST/Biophysical were all great and fluid was measuring at a level that is open to interpretation, but not bad by any means. He knew our wishes were to avoid an induction unless absolutely medically necessary, but was still frustratingly pushy. (Considering fluid levels can change based on mother's hydration, and I wasn't well hydrated today, I hardly consider a medium score a reason to schedule an induction). He did share some research, which I'm familiar with, but did not find particularly helpful or relevant as the study was on FTM at 39 weeks, not 41 weeks. The insistence on induction was not really the issue, but rather an unwarranted, rude comment he made when I was asking questions about the UPMC induction procedures. He mentioned Pitocin, Foley Bulb, Cytotec (also known as Misoprotol, a medicine designed for the stomach NOT the uterus, but often used in OB medicine, and a medical option I had previously declined when having both of my miscarriages due to possible side effects and negative results on uterine tissue). I then calmly mentioned how I was not really comfortable with the Cytotec, to which he retorted "Well, welcome to motherhood! Where you have to often do what you don't prefer!" I started crying in the office (embarrassing), and had to stand up to offer myself a tissue. It was a disappointing visit, as I expect more empathy from my providers. My husband was also incredibly shocked & offended at Fromuth's comment on my instinctual ability to be a mother. Fromuth is strictly a "facts" doctor, which is fine, but I prefer providers who can ALSO show decency to their patients and who validate patient's perspectives and feelings. Fromuth easily could have said, "I understand that you may be opposed to this option, and that's completely okay for you to feel that way, we would only use it if deemed medically necessary for your situation." As a person who comes from a history of, which is ON my file, others making decisions FOR me and/or without my consent, can be extremely distressing & damaging emotionally and mentally. I still like this practice as MOST everyone treats us SO well, but I will not be seeing Dr. Fromuth again, as that is at least something I can choose that he cannot. Now I am very stressed and emotionally distraught about our upcoming induction, for fear of others treating me with this same disregard.

First off a lot of my favorite doctors, the ones that delivered my children and saw year after year have left. Yes, that's bound to happen, but it seemed to happen all at once and there must be a reason why. One of the most drastic changes they made is switching births from Women's and Babies to The Heart of Lancaster. With this switch also means that all their testing, procedures, etc. are also done at the Heart of Lancaster - a hospital I feel is subpar compared to the size, locations, convenience, and number of services offered by Lancaster General. Sometimes bigger is better and in the case of these two hospitals and services Lancaster General is the better choice but you won't get to use them here. In the past years they also moved from familiar, convenient locations to off the beaten trail areas. Gone is the original location on Columbia Ave, as well as the one at the Health Campus, although they do have an office on Noll Dr but not all of the doctors will see patients there. Lititz and Elizabethtown is also out of the way for me but every time I schedule an appt I end up at one of those two because my doctor won't step foot in the Lancaster location. The biggest and most important piece of advice I can offer a newbie is to BUY A CALENDAR. YOUR care will be in YOUR hands with this practice. YOU must remember to call them yearly for a mammogram order or to schedule a pap, YOU must call them for test results (bad ones also!), everything is on YOU! I have experienced this first hand with some rather potentially serious health issues that I was the one following up, demanding repeat testings', researching, and finally seeking the opinion of another health care professional because frankly I felt like my situation fell through the cracks. Also be prepared for cut corners, annuals that don't include paps, test results that they can easily give you over the phone but try to squeeze another copay out of you, and miscoding billing. I hate to say it but OGYN is no longer Lancaster's go-to for feminine care.

She seemed to instinctively know just how much pressure to apply where. In the 30+ years that I've been getting these headaches, only two massage therapists have been able to make them go away through their skill and care and Bryna was one of them. It's primarily thanks to her that I was able to enjoy the rest of my vacation, pain-free! My boyfriend had a session with Bryna right after me and I noticed the customized approach that she took to treat two very different people. I like to concentrate on relaxing, breathing, and listening to the ebb and flow of the music in the room - an attempt on meditation. My boyfriend likes to talk through the whole thing, and not focus too much on his physical state - his own form of meditation. Bryna somehow knew which approach to take with each individual and I was able to enjoy my session in blissful contemplation. The studio is located in a very welcoming home, with a whole sun room dedicated to helping you relax in comfort while you wait. $70 for a 1-hour session and so, so worth it.

We have seen a number of the doctors (e.g., Dr. Kernen, Dr. Inners, Dr. McGeary, etc) for acute appointments and have felt comfortable with everyone. Their genuine care for children really comes through. I am grateful for the understanding and medical information from Dr. Thode and staff. It made the first year (as a first time mom) a lot easier.

A few of the Dr's are nice- but the office staff not so much and there is a huge lack of appointments, sick and annual well child appointment problem. Reaching the nurses is also difficult and several times messages I left with a nurse have not been passed along, were passed along incorrectly, documents not completed, etc. My child was also misdiagnosed and we are just starting to deal with the consequences of that. I wish I would have chosen a smaller practice and am looking into switching now. My child needed better care and she was just a number there.

I had a traumatic time working with Erin in 2021. It was my first pregnancy and things were going…read morewell at first. In the second trimester, she started mentioning that my blood pressure was elevated. I looked up standards online and it was not yet elevated, so this seemed more precautionary at this point. She kept mentioning that every single appointment. I started to feel extremely anxious going into her office. I was terrified of being risked out and I felt very helpless because I had already paid the majority of the agreed upon payment, so I couldn't transfer to someone else. Around 30 weeks is when things took a turn for the worse. I was panicking about appointments at this point, which of course would give an elevated reading. However, it was when she checked my fundal height and implied that I have gestational diabetes, without doing any testing, that really drew the line. At that point, the only testing I've had was A1C at the beginning and it was borderline pre-diabetes, so based off of that and her checking fundal height, she was asking for a growth scan with no other testing. I was not offered to check my sugars with a glucose monitor, no fasting sugar test, no 1 or 3 hour test, nothing, but her hunch. This also happened at the appointment after I made my final payment to her. At this point I stopped going to her because the anxiety I had was causing me too much stress. Feeling like you will be risked every single appointment based off of hunches made me feel so helpless. She never offered for me to check my blood pressure at home. She never offered anything except what I suspect is discrimination towards my weight. She assumed my higher weight meant health issues, and I guess it was too much liability for her. But, she had no problem keeping everything I paid her. I've worked with other midwives since and they know about this situation and to this day I am measuring BP at home because doing it in office brings up a lot of this for me anxious. That's why I called this experience traumatic, it truly was for me. To make things even worse, when I was giving birth at the hospital, she transferred records and in her records had but that I have hypertension and gestational diabetes, which led to extra testing to my baby. The hospital was shocked by both of those records because my BP was perfect during birth and my and my babies sugars were perfect as well. They wondered after the fact why it even said that. So not only did she risk me out for refusing a growth scan, she then sent false records based off of her hunches to a medical facility. The hypertension part I can understand bc of the readings in office (they never actually reached 140, which is the diagnosis for hypertension), but to say I have GD with zero testing to a hospital, as a "natural" midwife, is just beyond anything imaginable. I've gone on to have a successful home birth with wonderful midwives who actually cared about me and my wellbeing. They never assumed anything about my weight, they gave me tons of options for testing to make sure we have a full picture of my health. They never made me feel like I would get risked out. If anything was every wrong, we talked about it extensively, including what to do to help the situation (iron). If you look at Erin's website, you will find zero photos of anyone who is at a higher weight. She did not have to agree to work with me. I chose her because she claimed to be inclusive. This was a lie that cost me emotionally, financially and ruined my first birth being a home birth. I'm happy to provide proof of working together through email correspondence and receipts.
