The owners are some of the friendliest and most knowledgeable people you'll ever meet. They're genuinely welcoming, happy to share the history and stories behind the items, and clearly take a lot of pride in their store. One of my favorite touches was the wall showing the heights of their children and grandchildren--it really gives the place a wonderful sense of family and history. There's a great variety of items, and I honestly wasn't sure what I enjoyed most: browsing the store, learning from the owners, or simply getting to know them. You can tell this is much more than a business to them--it's a piece of history and a place they truly love. I really hope more people discover this hidden gem and support this wonderful family. It is definitely worth the drive from Raleigh to Burner, NC. If you're anywhere nearby, make the trip--you won't regret it!

We found this business on Instagram and decided to check it out Thursday morning. On Thursday we arrived about 15-20 minutes after the posted hours and we unfortunately found the place closed. We decided to call the number and wound up getting a voicemail and hung up. Hours later we received a call from the shop saying their representative was a little late and to stop by another day. So today (Saturday) we decided to stop by in the afternoon during the middle of their posted hours and were delighted to see the open sign lit up as we parked. We quickly realized, however, that the store was closed and no one was there. Once again, I called their number only to get a voicemail again. This was the early afternoon and my wife and I were frustrated and agreed that we won't be coming back again. It's unfortunate because this place looks great online and we LOVE buying from and supporting the small business community but when simple customer service is lacking it really doesn't leave us room to consider any other option.

The walk-in meets you with the right amount of old concert posters, stickers, and the graffiti chalkboard that has the question of the day. The selection is evolving, with a lot of local recordings, some classic rock staples, and some juicy discount bins. There are CDs, but the majority of the selection is vinyl, which is fine by me. There's a bluegrass table and a hiphop/R and B table. It hits all of the high points. If you're a collector looking for something in particular, talk to the owner, Todd. He'll help you track down that early mono pressing of Pet Sounds that you've got on your discogs wishlist. And that's probably what makes this place a fun place to shop- the friendly owner, the unpretentious vibe, and the nostalgic feel of an old school record store. If you're in Oxford, it's one of the must-do retail experiences in their downtown.
