Have visited this place twice now, and although the comedy was good they ran out of lager and ice on both occasions.

I've just completed the course and did my showcase at Up The Creek last night! It was amazing…read more. such a good group of people and I can't believe that in 6 weeks I went from having no clue as to what I wanted to do or say to having a polished (just under!) 5 minute set! The tutor is great and is really honest about what works and what doesn't which I love... and the other students were really supportive! Up The Creek is a great venue to do your first performance in! I would highly recommend this course to anyone! Do it! Do it! Do it now!

Harry is a great teacher; we were shown a myriad of ways to gather material. He is knowledgeable and generous when it comes to helping you with your set. He is also very honest - which I respected and admired. This also means that when he laughs you know it is real! I bombed in class a few times but it was with such a great group that it was ok. Don't be afraid to bomb! Harry won't let you perform unless he thinks you are ready. There is homework and I really encourage you to do it - you will just get more out of the course. There were 5 of us in the group fro different backgrounds and we all performed very different sets. This is a testament to Harry letting us find our style and boosting our confidence to really own the stage. I had a group of friends come to watch the showcase (which was equal parts terrifying and exhilarating) and they were really impressed by the standard of everyone. I have already encouraged 2 friends to give it a go and I hope that you will too. Quick recap: PROS: Well worth the money Easy enough to get to Great pace for learning You feel supported Harry knows his stuff and explains things really well You are encouraged to go beyond the course and start on the circuit CONS: Monday night can be tricky (but still worth it!) Thanks again Harry!

My first time here, came to watch a friends band. Great location for getting train (opposite) and…read moreeasy to find. On entry at 6pm the barman was welcoming and venue is quite cleverly laid out with under a of the floor space as front bar, with rest being the live music venue out back. Drinks were average for London. At some point in the night the door staff started work and made me uncomfortable by staring at me every time i moved around the venue. At times they followed me (I'm in my 50s so not a threat). By 8pm there were 4 members of staff and although I was 1 of 2 people waiting for a drink, only 1 of them was serving. 3 of them were having a lovely chat in the front bar. I made a comment to my mate and the barmaid went and told them. I then had a different barman from earlier walkover and rudely dropped the card reader in front of me on the bar to pay before serving me my drink. Didn't say please or thank you. Rude as hell. At the end of the evening I witnessed a guy with a disability having a disagreement with the door staff who showed no empathy to his well-being. The promoter in the rear was really friendly all night and the bands were all chatty. What started off as an exciting evening soon made me keen to leave. It wasn't busy with locals so maybe this is a reflection as to why. When I left after the venue, an older door supervisor was on the front entrance and was really friendly, exactly how I believe all staff should be. I'm mixed as to going back as it might have been a coincidence that the evening bar staff and inside door staff all being rude, but I won't make a point of returning over going somewhere different.

Sure it's no pretty picture but it has character, the pub has a large open standing area with bar in the middle. I wouldn't say there's much seating but I don't think I'd come here to sit inside anyway. What's great is that they have a lovely, large rooftop area with plenty of seating available on large benches. There's also a BBQ serving up traditional jerk chicken and other street food type foods. We were offered a £1 off voucher for our jerk but sadly on this occasion we weren't eating here. I'd definitely come back to try it though! They staff are pleasant and attentive and we had a nice experience! I'll definitely be back over the coming summer months.

I was very impressed to know this even existed. We got a chance to feed all the animals and clean their pens (the less glamorous bit). Was very lovely to interact with the animals and I will definitely come back with my nieces.

Oh where oh where do I start?…read more Paradise. Honest. Nothing could be more refreshing for the spirit than to spend an afternoon looking at comical rare breed chickens with enormous polkadot mohican/judge's wig hairdos, fat delicious looking pigs with obscenely massive yawns and rabbits which are just, you know, lovely. Soft and that. Who's weekend would not be improved by stroking a huge fluffy llama, tickling a baby cow or patting the teddybearish head of a silly great big sheep? All the better if feeling hungover and cranky. I have a thing for goats, and there are 3 types here, so happydays. You can pet their utterly mad old/young heads, laugh endlessly at their antics and feed them grass pellets (50p a bag). There's a petting zoo type yard with a cafe, education centre, stables, and a riding school, set within a lovely little green park, where the other (best) animals look happy in their fields. If, like me, you're a fan of nature/city juxtapositions in one sweeping view, you'll appreciate the cool weirdness of being in what feels like the countryside, and spotting Canary Wharf blinking behind the Llama that you are feeding. I felt very smug and clever when I guessed that somewhere this big and well resourced had to have been sponsored by all the big banks etc when Canary Wharf was developed, and sure enough, a plaque in the yard confirms it. When you've had your fill of fluffy, bristly, absurd, feathered and oinking creatures, head to the cafe. Staffed by volunteers, there are always several fresh cakes on offer, all the usual hot drinks and a few wholesome lunch options such as pancakes with cheese and spinach and tomato and basil pasta. The cafe is littered with newspapers, sofas, children's toys and softly glowing vintage lamps. It's boho/shabby chic, probably organic and contains some very well dressed toddlers and parents, but not in a twatty way at all. Cosy enough to flop off your shoes, curl up and read a paper on a cold winter's afternoon. When we were last there I had still-hot-from-the-oven scones, cream and jam. Oh my. If I sound evangelical about this that is because I am, it is brilliant, and you must go.
