There she is. We found her. Why are you out and about, possibly intoxicated, in a European city…read morewandering aimlessly in the cold? You're looking for a rotating mountain of meat like an oasis in the desert so that you can get a doner wrap, sandwich, or box. I have good news! I've found where you should be, and it's Berliner Doner. Star 1: How were the service and atmosphere? There is seemingly always a line a Berliner Doner, and that was the case even on a windy and intermittently rainy Sunday evening when there were seemingly no other people in the entire city of Vienna. Fortunately, the line at Berliner moves real quick, and even ten deep you'll have your food within twenty minutes tops. Star. Star 2: How were the portions relative to the cost? I genuinely cannot get over the price points at Berliner. My standard chicken doner sandwich was, wait for it, €3,50. That's it. That's all. That's the tweet. I obviously should have gone double meat for one euro more, but in summary is the best deal in town full stop. Star. Stars 3 and 4: How was the food? And just like that it all came together. The fresh pita, the flavorful chicken, the fantastic peripherals with red and white sauces that could easily rival any high quality stand in London or New York or Los Angeles. This was marvelous and there was no weak link. Period. Two Stars. Star 5: Would you be excited to go back? Every damn night if I could. Star.

Um, yum! Cheap,…read morecheerful, delicious. We ordered the lamb sandwich döner. Have never had one in Austria, but heard it was great. And yes, it's delicious. Yummy fresh salads, delicious sauces, shavings of lamb on top, washed down with a couple Gösser beers - perfect post drinking fare. Under €20 - awesome value. Way better than doner kebabs in Australia! There's some outdoor seating. Ambiance is simple, quick, outdoor takeaway. Nothing fancy. Would I take a date here? Probably not. Would I make it a required stop after a big night drinking? Hell yes. I ordered in German, the guy didn't switch to English. So not sure if they speak any English here. Recommend!

Well that was a heavenly night out…read more Our first restaurant meal in Vienna, so it had to be Wiener schnitzel. Perfect veal pieces with a perfectly golden, bubbled crumb, as large as our plate. Heaven. Potato salad - perfect; a little on the sweeter side. No mayo here, as it should be. Also, we were craving veg, so ordered the rucola salad. This being Austria, it was covered in ham and a sharp cheese. I'm not complaining The room had a simple, cozy cellar bar feel. It was a tad warm inside. Friendly service. Although I tried my best with German they also spoke excellent English. Drinks wise - hubby enjoyed the lager beer and I loved the Weiss gespritzt. At €3,90 a glass, I was happy! They were busy so recommend booking. Fantastic meal, highly recommend!

We ordered the Wiener Schnitzel, prepared in the traditional Viennese style, and it was amazing! The schnitzel was perfectly cooked and paired beautifully with their potato salad, which was also really good. We also tried the Tafelspitz, served with a flavorful beef broth and vegetables. It was hearty, fresh, and packed with flavor. Their house beer on tap was refreshing and went perfectly with the meal. But the real showstopper was dessert--the famous Kaiserschmarrn with apricot. These fluffy, shredded pancakes were absolutely divine, and the apricot added just the right amount of sweetness. Easily one of the highlights of the meal! Service was impeccable, and everything tasted fresh. I highly recommend making a reservation, especially because this is a small restaurant and it clearly has a strong following among locals. The atmosphere is lovely, with a neighborhood, non-touristy vibe that makes the experience feel authentically Viennese. If you're looking for delicious traditional Viennese specialties without the tourist-trap feel, definitely put Gasthaus Pöschl on your list!

It's spacious inside with distinct smoking and non smoking areas. I had the double cheese burger which was very good, especially the fries. I liked the cocktails too - although I didn't think the mojitos were that strong (good for me though, I am a lightweight!) Overall a great experience, with attentive staff. Would definitely recommend it!

You can enjoy your cocktail(s)at the bar, or you can go in the second room behind it and enjoy a nice meal with your friends! The drinks are made with mastery (even the cocktails without alcohol!); as for the food, there is nothing to upgrade, it is already perfect as it is! The menu makes sense, with quite a nice choice of snacks, main dishes and salats. You can't help yourself but smile when your order arrive, for it looks very good - and it tastes so as well! I had a salad with shrimps, it might sounds simple but it was simply delicious! The shrimps were perfectly cooked and seasoned, and kindly cut in half to make it very easy to decorticate (I was relieved to aknowledge you won't need your fingers for that!) We definitely had a great time there. Short recommendation: on weekends, do make reservations!
