There is seemingly always a line a Berliner Doner, and that was the case even on a windy and intermittently rainy Sunday evening when there were seemingly no other people in the entire city of Vienna. Fortunately, the line at Berliner moves real quick, and even ten deep you'll have your food within twenty minutes tops. Star. Star 2: How were the portions relative to the cost? I genuinely cannot get over the price points at Berliner. My standard chicken doner sandwich was, wait for it, €3,50. That's it. That's all. That's the tweet. I obviously should have gone double meat for one euro more, but in summary is the best deal in town full stop. Star. Stars 3 and 4: How was the food? And just like that it all came together. The fresh pita, the flavorful chicken, the fantastic peripherals with red and white sauces that could easily rival any high quality stand in London or New York or Los Angeles. These fluffy, shredded pancakes were absolutely divine, and the apricot added just the right amount of sweetness. Easily one of the highlights of the meal! Service was impeccable, and everything tasted fresh. I highly recommend making a reservation, especially because this is a small restaurant and it clearly has a strong following among locals. The jun we got was very unique but was delicious. It had jun crust at the bottom with seafood and had eggs on top of it. Very interesting but that's unique to this restaurant. We had to order bowl of kimchee since the banchan we got was very minimal but we did expect that. The sizzling plate of bulgogi bibimwas very good. Each individual items were seasoned separately before assembling on the sizzling plate. Also banchan was seasoned very well. Place was packed when we got there 10 min after they opened. Need reservation for sure. Service was good, food arrived promptly and as always, we had to wait for awhile even after we asked for the bill.
