This is such an amazing show for all to enjoy!! It's comes to Philly every 5 or so years. It's always crowded, however, well managed. All seats are good and it's so much fun throughout the experience. The intermissions between acts are very entertaining. They have audience participation which is so much fun. Loved the huge beach balls they let us volley throughout the audience. It's great fun to be had for everyone. read more

The whole circus is a scam. a box of cold chewy popcorn is 15 dollars. My ticket was behind an obstructed view and they wanted to put me in the nose bleeds ( 38 dollar tickets )away from my kids after I paid almost 60 dollars for my tickets. and then refused to compensate me After I refused to sit away from my children. None of them are from here and can barely speak English. I told 3 workers about my situation Before I made a scene and got some black man saying he has more authority. Turns out he didn't and then sent me to another man who told me that he would fight so that I would not get my money back. They are lucky I didn't knock everything over before leaving the tent. read more

I FINALLY made it to Universoul Circus and I had a FABULOUS time! During my trip last year to Philadelphia, I wanted to experience something that I have never done yet. My Uber driver picked me up from the airport and questioned what I planned to do that weekend; I had a full itinerary but also asked him for suggestions. He quickly replied, "You MUST do the Universoul Circus! You would enjoy it, I promise!" Welp, I took his word for it and got online to purchase me a ticket. Luckily, the show was at 7:30 PM so I had enough time to go back to the hotel and get ready. Now, what really attracted me to go was the whole meaning behind Universoul. Universoul Circus is the ONLY African American operated circus in the world and such an extraordinary experience for everyone! You see, Universoul Circus was created by an African American man named Cedric Walker who had this vision of bringing creative-minded people together in a circus to show off their skills and talent. Universoul Circus has been recognized in over 20 different countries and is a big deal in the US. The location was not far from my hotel and I had wonderful Uber drivers that were so patient in the midst of all the confusion and hectic traffic! I got there right on time and had up-close and personal seating. I sat by lovely women who was a caretaker and took her consumers to see the show. Once the show began, I knew I had made the right decision. First and foremost, I love dance performances and grew up being involved in dance/step performances in school. The performances here were amazing. My favorite was when they got the audience engaged and the children involved and brought them on stage so they can show their talent off to the world! The performers were very diverse and absolutely talented! They brought two elephants onto the stage and had them engaging with the children; the children also had an opportunity to ride the elephants during the break. The elephants were so cute and adorable! It was so moving to watch. The performance is very engaging and filled with laughter and family fun. The performers are amazing and have SO much talent and skills. Truly great for anyone to come and see! It's a very interactive circus. I have attended the Universoul Circus many years ago, so when I was invited to go this time, I agreed and was glad I did. It was such a good time!! The performers are very entertaining and I enjoyed how they engage the crowd throughout the show. The music kept everyone energized and happy. I was pleased about the reasonably priced snacks - of course things are surcharged up, but to get a big tub of popcorn for $6 is good. They also had snow cones, soul wings, etc - these were all under $8. The most expensive thing were the toys - No worries for me - although I am a big kid, I wasn't paying $12-$15 for glow in the dark toys. I recommend highly, but keep in mind the show is over 2 hours long - so a school night might night be a good idea for the kiddos. read more

Having never been to a Circus, I was excited to cross this one off the bucket list. However, I honestly had no idea what to expect. I mean, it was set up in a tent just outside the Mann. Would it be a true circus experience, or merely a money grab? Happy to report the experience rocked! You got the usual circus stuff - lions, tigers, and elephants. Bet you though I was going to say bears, but alas no bears. They had jugglers and clowns as well. They also had tons of acrobats doing some freaking amazing things. A magic show which I won't spoil, but damn I did not see that ending coming! Even excite bike tricks with motorcycles flying everywhere. One of the cool and probably unique things about Universoul was they had representation from what seemed like every country around the world. All fit into a bit over two hours with intermission. Keep a look out for their next tour! read more

Definitely giving this act a 5 out of 5 only probably 2 things that would make this not be 5 stars but there's to many great factors about this show to not have 5 stars My first thing is the prices...I had took my youngest son there he's 2..now it was a couple dollars cheaper for him but any other place it starts at about 3 or 4 years old to pay, not saying he didn't have fun but attention span was short had to actually leave alittle early because of him gettin cranky and tired...soo they should bump that age limit up to kids that can actually comprehend and remember...today I had brought my 5 year old daughter and she had a blast! The other thing we're the protesters in front of the entrance....alittle sad and with a curious 5 year that askes a million whys and what's kinda hard to explain..... Everything else is a MUST SEE!!! I saw the commercial on television, so my bf and I decided to be spontaneous and see if the Universoul Circus was performing somewhere close by for the same day. We immediately purchased tickets, as they were performing at Aviation Sports and Events Center in Brooklyn. We had so much fun! They had crowd participation, great music and awesome performances. Dancing clowns, elephants, motorcycle tricks to name a few. I don't even know which performance I liked the best. The snacks were reasonable prices, as they ranged from $6 & $7. They offered Popcorn, Soul Wings, Nachos, snow cones, and Funnel cakes. ( I think they could have replaced funnel cakes with Pretzels). We ordered all except for Soul wings because we don't eat meat ( I'm a pescatarian, he a vegetarian) and snow cones. but the wings smelled really good. We had so much fun, we would love to go again. read more

Loved it. The wait time was not too bad, the employees were all very polite and helpful, and the grounds were pretty clean and kept neat. Once under the tent, the heaters kept everyone very warm to the point that we needed to remove our coats and could get comfortable. The show itself was fantastic with the variety of performances and acts that came on stage. This was my first experience with Universoul Circus and had some preconceived ideas going in. Pretty happy that I attended and would recommend other people to check it out! read more

I have mixed feelings about this circus. We went on a school trip with my daughters class, The dancing and acts were great but when it came to the animal attraction portion it was a bit disturbing. My daughter didn't even want to look at the horse performance just because of how they were being whipped. The ring leader for that portion just looked emotionless. The elephants appeared so sad. read more

Been taking my children & grandchildren since they been coming to Philly and we have enjoyed it every year..!!!!!

So I love the concept of this circus! The acts were great and the people were amazingly talented. The message behind it all touched me. International acrobats from Trinidad, Cuba, and Asia just to name a few. The first half was PERFECT! However during I intermission they played rap and hip hop, cardi b, had a dance battle, swag surfed and that's the stuff we see at a club, not a circus. They turned up the bass and the music entirely too loud and the atmosphere quickly turned from a fun circus to a very hectic, non kid friendly environment. My nephews, 3 and 8; and it was completely inappropriate for them to say the least. read more

Talented people but the animal part is disturbing. The elephant looked really sad. I don't remember ever going to a circus, will not go back if there are wild animals. Using them, during the night, in a crowded and loud place, to entertain people is not right. read more

We attended today's show in Newark, NJ, I LOVE THIS CIRCUS!! We drove almost two hours, but it's always worth it. My two boys loved ALL the performances. I'm already looking forward to future shows. This was my first time going to this circus! I really enjoyed this circus and my family did too! I really enjoy the concept of this and the different cultures showcased. However, I'm not a big fan of seeing wild animals such as zebras and camels in circuses. I don't really know if they are abused or not but I do know them or their parents were somewhere other than that circus before. If the animals were in the wild it hurts to know they got taken out of their homes. Other than that, I really enjoyed the circus and the different diversities. I recommend you bring the family because my cousins in I had a great time. Unless you don't support animals in circuses. read more

I went to the Universalsoul circus on 11/12/17 at Fairmount Park. And myself, husband and daughter had a great time, BUT the local dance groups made the beginning of the show very uncomfortable. The kids were dancing so seductive with the splits, twerking and the groups were mixed with boys as well doing the same exact things the girls were doing. We couldn't watch. The look on everyone's faces around us said the same way we felt. read more
