Today it's a poplar place for families to eat and drink - particularly in the summer, thanks to its huge grassy garden with a wooded area to one side. As far as food goes, they're part of the Sizzling Pub Co, best known for their burgers, rib & steak combos, and so on - so great for meat eaters but less exciting for the veggies amongst us. To be honest, I think people go here more for the surroundings than the food itself, and for the fact that both food and drinks are very reasonably priced (especially if you're heading out for a big family meal).

It also keeps the impact on your wallet to a minimum with Brains' Famous Five for £3.85 meal promotion, Fosters at £2.30 and Brains IPA at £1.85.
