Tony and his son Craig were fantastic to deal with, very friendly and easygoing, even when our schedule changed due to unforeseen circumstances. They arrived on-site on the date as promised, and completed their work swiftly and to a high standard. Our house was left looking fantastic, and all work-sites were cleaned upon completion. I consider myself so lucky I actually found him and of all places on Gumtree, it proves you can strike GOLD occasionally! Bedwell Tiling goes way back but here in Adelaide started off as a father and son tiling business, Charlie (son) has branched off on his own after being taught by the best in the business (his dad) and some. Charlie is a young guy originally from London England and is one of the most genuine and diligent tradies I have met, but don't let his boyish looks fool you, he has tiling experience well beyond his years and more than enough to make the oldies cringe and take note. Our experience with Charlie is as follows: I call him to arrange for a quote, he arrives when he says he will and is on time, I let him know what we'd like done (in our case it was rip out the laundry, bathroom, tile the hallway and a bedroom plus install two new ceilings - all in the same area). He has a look, measures up, has a good chat to discuss and lets me know when the quote will be ready and when he can come to do the job. A short time later (a mere couple of days), Charlie emails me the quote and it agrees with our budget so I don't bother with getting anyone else out to quote (especially after a previous bad experience with two tilers a couple of years ago). I felt a good rapport develop between us and you know when you get that gut instinct...when you're on a good thing stick to it (it works both ways) !! Charlie explained the expected time frame to finish the job and when he starts a job he stays on that job without going off to do others', so he's no bitzer, he stays on the job until it's finished. True to his word and quote he finished the entire area within 10 days!!!!!!!!! Charlie arrived same time every morning and stayed as long as it took to finish the daily task at hand. He had a couple of offsiders to help but he done the majority of the work himself as he's very particular in how he wants the work to be done. As the four areas where next to one another he lined up the tiles in such a way that if you could see through walls they'd all line up. The communication was faultless as he kept us informed as to what he's doing, what he's going to do, asked for our preferences, etc. As you can tell, I cannot speak highly enough of Charlie and I could go on novel size, he's simply the best! I don't know how far he's willing to travel as he's located at Flagstaff Hill but i can assure you...you will NOT be disappointed. So, if you have any up coming tiling reno jobs on the list please do yourself a favour and make him your first point of call and forget the rest. Thank you Charlie - LOVE your work ;-)
