My wife and I were talking and saying that this store with this level of kindness and service may not work in CA. I don't know that they could find the employees that'd be willing to work at this level. I definitely recommend this store as it is amazing! The employees truly went above and beyond to find the sizes we needed as well as just making sure we were taken care of. We can't say enough good things about this place!

The payment that went through was more than the original price on the invoice, that was the first red flag. It took almost a month for me to get the jersey in the mail. I received a fake jersey and they were only willing to give me a 40% refund. I wanted a full refund but apparently all the jerseys come from China and its "expensive shipping costs" to return. This company is not in Montana like the address on the website says.

There's a lot of parking out front and many other stores around this area. When I walked in, I was greeted by an employee. She was pleasant and let me know that if I had any questions she would be happy to help. I wanted reasonable running/workout shoes that are inexpensive and they happened to have a clearance rack! My feet are wide so I'm very careful when looking for shoes that are specific to wide sizes such as locating the "W" on the shoes I like. I found a pair of shoes that had great traction and grip for running and socks were on sale Buy one get the other for half off (read the fine lines or ask a rep for clarification, always). They had a great selection of reasonable shoes and a variety of brands and styles. They also sell Crocs, backpacks and bags. When I got to the register, I was informed about the socks sale and how their buy one get the other at half off, worked. I always need socks and I had enough room in my luggage to take back home with me. I was pleased that the break-in period for my new shoes didn't hinder my workout for the night. My new pair of shoes were comfy and I was pleased with the service and product purchase from Famous Footwear.

I went in today and discovered that there were no styles I liked in wide so asked fire a refund. I had my original receipt and had not worn the shoes but to put them on long enough to see they weren't wide enough. The gal working (didn't get her name) questioned EVERY step. She insisted I'd worn them outside. Accused me of having something splashed on it (part of the design. I noticed it before I paid for them). She was very condescending. This is the first time I've had a problem at this store. The two gals working when I bought the shoes were awesome. Guess I'll have to make sure one if them is working next time I decide to go in.

A technician came out from the back, and I explained that I had a 26" e-bike with Tannus Armour liners and needed a tube replaced. Without even looking at the bike, his immediate response was, "I don't want to mess with that." I said, "No problem, I'll find another shop." As we were leaving, he followed us outside and asked if I was sure the bike had Tannus liners. Yes--I paid a reputable bike shop to install them, so I'm pretty confident they're in there. Then he asked how I got a flat with liners installed? I'm not a bike tech, I was riding and then all the air left. That's all I know. He then stood behind my Jeep explaining how easy the repair was. If it's that easy, I'm not sure why the shop refused to do the work. I was happy to pay whatever their labor rate was just to get back on the road. I ended up calling my home bike shop, which gave me the correct tube size and a few tips over the phone. They were right--the repair was straightforward, and I had it fixed myself. Avoid this shop at all costs.

I went in to buy my first-ever pair of boots and my first pair of Wranglers, and from the moment I stepped through the door, I was treated like family. Jody and Pauline went so far above and beyond that I felt like I was shopping with my mom, my sister, and my best friend all wrapped into one. Their warmth, knowledge, and genuine care turned what could have been an intimidating experience into one of the most enjoyable shopping trips of my life. They made sure everything fit perfectly, answered every question with patience, and truly made me feel seen and valued. I was so impressed that I asked to speak to a manager -- and he was just as incredible. Highly educated, professional, and truly committed to next-level customer service, he made it clear that North 40 isn't just a store -- it's a community. North 40 Outfitters is now the only place I will shop. Not only do they have an amazing clothing and footwear department, they also offer a full range of products for agricultural needs, a complete tack shop, and a hardware store section that carries everything you could possibly need. This is true Montana hospitality at its finest, combined with world-class service. Five stars aren't enough -- I wish I could give them ten!
