The Other Side Academy is changing people's lives....literally. This facility is full run by…read morestudents and graduates-folks who have made bad choices (self proclaimed) and have decided to turn their lives around. They don't take money from the government or accept insurance and it's totally free for students to participate. (In fact, the longer you stay, you have an opportunity to make money while you're here.) It's not a traditional rehab center-in fact, they don't call it a rehab center at all. It's a home where students commit to live, contribute and abide by incredibly strict behavior protocol for not just months, but years. Their success rate is off the charts and students who graduate from the program are given tools to succeed at life, not just sent on their way. The funding for the Academy is mostly self-funded from their social enterprises (moving company, thrift stores, donut shops, etc.) which are all run by the students. The curriculum is rigorous with accountability and humility as the main theme that runs throughout. It's not for the faint of heart and they don't sugar coat anything, but if people are ready to make a significant change in their lives, this place will help them.

I have been very happy with the school, here is why. CUSTOMER SERVICE: They are very quick to respond to email and the director of the school even posts his own phone number on the website so you can contact him directly. Now who does that!?!? NAVIGATION: It is VERY EASY to navigate through the pages and chapters. You just open the chapter and look at the check marks next the each section - if you've completed it, it will have a check mark. Plus you can go at your own pace, you can do the chapters out of order, you can go back and review each section, you can re-take chapter test and unit quizzes, you can take up to a year to complete the course...simply put, your in the drivers seat, and that is awesome. COST: Easily the most affordable program, why pay up to 50% more for the same thing. ACCREDITATION: This school is one of the schools recommended and approved on the Utah Division of RE. Enough said! SCHOOL COMPARISON: This is the second time I have gone to RE school (I let my licence expire a few years ago, so I have to do this again :-/ ) Agent Professor is by far the better of the two schools. EXAM: Agent Profesor has a 16% HIGHER pass rate than other schools in Utah. Again - why pay more? And finally - I love that was able to do the whole course from home, and I was able to study late at night or early in the morning --- I have and will continue to recommend Agent Professor Real Estate School to everyone!

Wow! Where to begin. The site is clanky. I've been logged out waiting for the time to tick down…read morebecause they give you about 2 minutes worth of information but allot 10+ minutes of time for it. I'm writing this response while I wait for the time to pass, so I can move on to the next part of a lesson. I've randomly been logged out in the middle of their quizzes. I've been told my % wasn't at 100% even, when I passed all of the lessons AND let the time tick down to zero. The videos are extremely outdated and some are a complete waste of time, like the one on what the word "fudiciary" means. Their review exercises are created by the student....which means you have to wait 20-30 minutes for the clock to tick down so you can move on. They have assignments where you have to go find a video or blog and then post a link-- maybe we are creating better material for future students??? How many times can we be asked how a lesson has increased our desire to be ethical? Apparently, after every stinking lesson. The essay responses always get a passing grade, no matter what you write in them. I'm not impressed at all.

I am a recent graduate from their Rad Tech program in Sandy, UT. They are off to a rocky start but…read morethey aren't a scam. You will get your prmoised cert but you will have to 100% drive yourself. Saying this program is acellerated is a gross understatement. You do in 12 months what colleges do in two to three years, plus more. You normally have your pre-reqs before you joing the program. Those are included in the 12 month of school. Plus, in that 12 months you are learning all your positions and passing them off in a lab. It's hard to truly communicate the level of work that you have to do. If you are not 100% dedicated to putting in the generous amount of work you will need to succeed here, don't apply. And if you have to work full time on the side, I would strongly recommend considering a different school. I'm really not kidding, and not using some tactic to try and "rile you up for the challenge." This is a TON of work to succeed and admissions doesn't even come close to telling you much effort it will take and when you get in there, the teachers only have so much time with you. You are 95% on your own. So if you want to "shortcut" of jumping into a program that will more than likely just let you in, you will be paying your dues on the other end of this. And lastly, getting placed for your clinicals is extreemely competitive. It is very likely that you will have to travel out of state or use a connection to arrange your own clinicals, or get your limited and find a job that will let you comp. But now were getting into the weeds. I honestly would give them five start if I felt like admissions or the instructors had been upfront, or even able to communicate the fact that they are facilitators only. You will succeed or fail on your own and possibly in spite of the school if you don't keep ahead of the work.

The founder is one of the most ignorant people I have ever encountered. She initially comes across as sweet and down-to-earth, but once you sign the contract, I felt like I was treated more like a check than a student. Throughout my time at Summit Dental Academy, I felt there was very little understanding or flexibility when unexpected or abnormal circumstances came up. The program also lacked structure, and much of the material felt outdated. The hands-on training felt rushed which made it difficult to actually retain and feel confident in what we were learning. On top of that, the reading material contained so many grammatical errors that it was difficult to get through a page without noticing multiple mistakes. If you genuinely care about your education and academic success, I strongly recommend researching other programs before committing to this one. As someone who takes a lot of pride in my work and education, my experience with this program caused me an immense amount of frustration. Read the contract completely before signing. There are additional fees that I personally found unreasonable, including a $20 fee on top of tuition for what felt and looked like an Amazon graduation cap and Dollar Tree frames for our certificates. These are the kinds of details that left me feeling like the program was more focused on collecting money than creating a positive educational experience. I also think it is important to look closely at the reviews before making your decision. Notice how many of the positive reviews are always posted around the same time. Students receive EXTRA CREDIT FOR LEAVING REVIEWS it does not have to be a good review but I still think that is important context when looking at the reviews. Could you imagine trying to leave a completely honest review when your certificate is still at risk? Even if students are technically allowed to be honest, there is an obvious pressure that comes with knowing the person you are reviewing has control over something that important to your future. I would encourage anyone considering this program to look beyond the reviews and speak with current or former students if possible. I also want to acknowledge our instructor, Mandy. She was amazing and did the best work with the material she was given. That being said, she was given very little guidance or support while being expected to instruct the class. We witnessed her being disrespected in front of us and being blamed for issues that, in my opinion, were beyond her control. Seeing the way she and even the founder's husband were treated was extremely uncomfortable and gave me the impression that the founder did not value the people working for her. Overall, I regret choosing this program. I went into dental assisting school wanting to learn, grow, and build a foundation for my career. Instead, I left feeling frustrated, disappointed, and honestly disrespected. Do your research, read every part of the contract, ask questions about additional fees, and seriously consider your other options before committing to Summit Dental Academy
