I find it interesting to walk through a necropolis, reading simple, but powerful words, that sum up a life spent within this realm. Words such as "beloved father" or "beloved mother", with the date they came upon this world to the time that they walked their last step in this incarnation of their journey speak leagues. Simple words that cannot begin to explore the depths of the love and ultimate mourning of a life and the inevitable departure of that person. Perhaps most tragic is to stand before the grave of a child, sadly so tiny, and think about a life cut so short, so much that wasn't experienced. I find it comforting to walk amongst the aisles of headstones, each a testament to a life lived, lives of joy and sadness, of triumph and tragedy. Lives lived to their inevitable conclusion.

With that being said, the Micanopy Historical Cemetery is still my favorite in the area. The expansive canopy of oak trees covered in moss will give you a chill even before you find the Victorian headstones, sculptures, and ironwork. The ground is covered with a bright green moss carpet that is soft under your feet, and your are shaded by the low hanging canopies above. It is difficult not to be taken in, when you are being sandwiched between the two. The Historical Society claims that the oldest grave is from 1825, but who knows... The best time to visit is when the sun is setting. Scared to get out of the car? Both gates are open on either side, so you can slowly and carefully drive your car through and safely come out the other side. This was the real beginning of the Great Seminole War of 1835-42, in which, as head War-Chief, Osceola became an important Indian Military genius and strategist of American History. For the past three years I have lived in Reddick, I have never seen it crowded. Even during Christmas time! They get you in and out quickly. There's parking in the front and side of the building and also a drive-through drop off for letters. My only suggestion would be for them to dust the front door more often. There are some cobwebs that hang out in the corners and on the door there regularly, but honestly, it's such a small thing. It's typical to see cobwebs outside many places in this area during the summer. Otherwise, nothing but positive things to say about this USPS location! Definitely recommend checking them out.

This was the best DMV experience my husband and I have ever had! They move quickly and got…read moreeverything taken care of that we needed. Though the line was long, we were in and out in no time. We were told to get there at 7:30 in the morning, but we ended up getting there closer to 9:00 and it wasn't an issue. We were probably in and out under an hour. The only reason this is a four star instead of a five star is because they have a bizarre musical chair system during Covid. Instead of a line with six foot delineated marks on the floor, you move from chair to chair where another person was sitting and no wiping down in between. It seems less sanitary, but I guess some appreciate the chairs. We mostly stood, because often moments after sitting, you were up moving to the next chair, they were that efficient. Our first trip was to get our driver's licenses. We just got married, so I had our marriage certificate for my name change, and we both had our birth certificates. Fortunately, I also happened to have my divorce decree, though I had a driver's license from our previous state with my new last name. My husband also was previously divorced.. why don't men have to prove it? Anyway, Kayla was amazing and took care of everything. We made sure to let her supervisor know! Second time was car registration for both of us. This is also a reason for four stars and not five. The person helping us walked to the supervisor station and where people were standing around chatting about a television show for several minutes. When she came back she said she had a copy of our marriage certificate and she said she had to get an exception as the title of my car was in a different last name, but my marriage certificate was on file. I told her that I brought my marriage certificate, but she hadn't asked. She rolled her eyes, but was otherwise efficient... Not as friendly as Kayla, but hey, I was there for efficiency. Other low score as we asked for both of our names on both of the vehicles. When we got the new titles in the mail it only had one name on each. So, overall, moving rapidly through... 5 stars Kayla... 5 stars Not to be named person 3 stars Musical chairs 3 stars Let me know if this review helped!

He threatened to call the IRS and falsely claim I was accused of IRS fraud, he threatened to charge me with filing a false report, he threatened to call my payroll company (not sure what that was going to do),and told me bad things happened to people who complained about detective's performance. It was the week between Christmas and New Years, and the central square was decorated with a giant Christmas tree and tons of lights. I was able to find one near the garage. It looked to be free parking, so that's always good. I did not know whether the garage cost extra, but I did see some parking areas that had a cost. I saw the main square with the gazebo, and looks like there were people hanging over there. There are lots of horse statues with artwork painted, and signs displaying the descriptions. And since they were artwork, there was definitely no mounting on the sculpture allowed! There are many nice restaurants, including Brick City Southern Kitchen and Harrys Seafood. There is also a theater, but I didn't go inside. Downtown Ocala looks to be pretty safe and welcoming. I should visit again during the day time and see if there are farmers markets as well. But definitely I will come back for the great restaurants over there. I just wish parking was easier. Overall: B
