I sent out a card with a hefty check in it 2 weeks ago today 3/16/26, return address- correct mailing address - copied straight from the information given......and it still hasn't reached its destination The USPS cost me a 27.00 stop pmt on this check. The Midland post office (all locations) is God-awful. None of the locations answer the phone. I've been trying to get help - my mail keeps being delivered to a neighbor who is often out-of-town. My son's meds were lost for one month and I had to cancel payment on a check ... all because of the incompetence of the Midland postal service. read more

This is the busiest mid-sized post office that I've ever seen, though I am positive that it's this hectic everywhere 1.5 weeks before Christmas. At least when I was there, the line was moving slowly even though there were 4 people working behind the counter. Luckily there are two machines in the lobby where you can weigh and measure parcels, make labels, buy postage, fiddle with your P.O. box. These kiosks are generously available until midnight! They may be a little weird to use at first, but they are very handy once you figure it out. Note: even if you have several packages, the machine will ask for your card first. After you finish with the first parcel, the machine ask for the next item and you won't have to insert your card again after the initial request. The parking lot is small and can get busy but you can park on the street beside the post office. read more

I have live in midland for 59 years . The last ten years I have had nothing but trouble with midland post office I have stop down there and talk to the post master I showed him the mail that came out of my mail box the day before a hand full of mail that did not have my name on or my address !! And he assured me he would take care of this problem !!!! My black Friday add came on Saturday at afternoon.. Now I have a late water bill it never came in the mail. I spent an hour and four minutes on the phone this morning (first attempt) to file a complaint about my mail not getting delivered and when it does, someone in a silver car is stealing it (small build, gray hair) after an hour on the phone waiting on hold,it skipped me speaking with a representative and automatically directed me to a survey, of course I left a poor rating, as well as a voicemail. I am a new resident in my house and the mailbox was up by the house so I had to move it to the road. I didn't get notified until December 29 that I had to move it and by then the ground was frozen. My mail carrier left me constant rude letters and notes and often times sent my mail back to the sender. My mailbox that I had to have moved was exactly 12 steps away from my neighbors which is also by their house, yet would refuse to deliver it to me. Every time I would go in to the office they would yell at me even though it was middle of the winter and snow was on the ground and I cannot dig a hole. The workers at the post office are all rude and the carriers are even more rude, it would be nice if we had somebody who actually cared about doing their job. If you are going to let somebody know they need to move their mailbox at least do it when they can dig into the ground. If you don't like your job then go find a new one, don't take it out on residents who have no control over this. Just terrible overall. read more

In terms of Passport assistance- Worst ever. The woman who is there to take care of passports needs a new position in the back. No customer service skills- she is rude, tactless and belittling. I encourage everyone to visit the circuit court for any passport needs! read more

I went to try and retrieve a package I had missed on Wednesday when they weren't delivering mail. I found out my package was out for delivery only after an encounter with an awful brunette lady with a ponytail. After waiting in line for almost 20 minutes (which isn't a problem. I understand they must have been way behind with the weather and closures), her customer finished up and exited. I stepped up to her station and she angrily rolled her eyes at me and told me "nope. I have to go to the bathroom. I haven't gone in hours" or something to that effect. She basically scolded me. I've worked retail and customer service to quite sometime and I've dealt with lots of long shifts without breaks and lots of angry, cranky people. I understand it's frustrating and it's hard, but you don't need to be rude and nasty. I would have understood if she'd let me know "hey, I haven't had a break in hours. I'm going to run to the restroom and I'll be right with you." Her attitude was completely unnecessary and I even considered going back in to find out her name, but I figured I'd let her continue to be the miserable, nasty person she is. I'm sorry to anyone else who will or has had to deal with her. read more

Rude. Condescending clerk was not helpful when a package tracking went by their error to the wrong address. Then added postage for their error that was more than the package was worth. Clerk was adamant I had to pay added postage for their rerouting error. I paid it and will have to deliver the package in person to the correct address which is across the state. read more

They might deserve five-stars, but I'm giving them four because their lines never go ticket-split, mostly because due to COVID right now, they don't have the man-power they need to go as fast as they used to. They appear to be understaffed, but work competently in spite of that. I do get some mis-delivered mail, and have mine mis-delivered once in a great while, which is more often than once in a blue moon - which is how it used to be. I attribute some of this to changes made in the past couple of years, made for better or worse. Times have been tough. The workers behind the desks have been very polite and professional. Another downtown post office branch that helped take up the slack quite a bit was closed years ago, gosh knows why, even though our congressman protested. From what I know of the postal workers, they are competent, thoroughly professional, know their stuff, work hard, don't complain.....but no matter how hard they work, they seem to get complained about by customers who have no idea what these workers are up against. I took the postal test many years ago and flunked it. I know their job isn't easy. I wouldn't want to have to deliver in rain, snow, sleet, on icy, snowy, muddy sidewalks....hot days, freezing days, pouring days....reading all kinds of hand-writing on envelopes.....I like to send letters and cards. I say long live the postal service!! I don't know what we would do without it. Good old Ben Franklin helped start it, and he knew it was a good thing. Let's thank those who keep it going! read more

Is 0 stars an option? Horrible, horrible place. Not only is the staff that works at the Post Office incredibly rude and unhelpful, but their mail carriers are also the same way. Twice we have been expecting a certified letter in which either my husband or I have been home all day, and no one comes to the door (we would know, as we have a video doorbell that alerts us to any and all motion). We go check the mail at the very end of the day, and sure enough, there is always a note saying "Sorry we missed you!" They did not miss us! I stayed home all day because I was expecting important banking documents to be delivered and nothing except a letter in my mailbox saying they would redeliver at a later date! Not only this, when they actually DID bring a package to the door that we weren't home for, we have a recorded video (thank you, Ring!) of them being incredibly rude and nasty, badmouthing us about us not being home to sign for the package. I have never once had a good experience at this location. read more
