I hate to write such a horrible review because my first experience with this cab company was great! The first driver of the night, Bob, was great. He was friendly, talkative, and very helpful. We had requested him for our ride home but we were sent someone else. The second guy, Akzel (spelling?) was not very friendly, ignored us when we spoke, did not attempt to help us with the door. Just sat there. About 10-15 minutes after dropping us off, we realized that I had left my phone behind in the cab. One of my friends called my phone to see if we could find it in the house and it just rang and went to voicemail. So we called the cab company, told them that we had left it behind and asked if they could look for it. After a few minutes they came back on and said it was not there. So we tried calling my phone again, to find that it had been turned off. Seemed super shady!! We attempted to call them again to ask them to look again or ask the cab driver if he had recovered it, only to be yelled at by someone that sounded like the were drunk at a party (loud background noise, lots of people talking). When I called back the following day, I was treated rudely and was not given a straight answer. When I asked for the owners info they said they could not release that info. Just a shady company. I would not throw my money into this place. But if you do end up choosing this cab company, look out for a driver with a nice iPhone 4. Hopefully, you will think of me when you see it :) read more

I've taken many cabs in major cities; however when it came up that I would need to take one in a smaller community (Modesto), I knew there wouldn't be much competition, so I figured it would be more expensive. I thought wrong! The drive, Jon Kelly, was FABULOUS!! He picked us up (6 adults) in the van quickly, was very social, blasted the music (because he knew we were in a party mood), and the price was great!!. I finally took jay up on the free ride . I didn't need the ride but my uncle did and I was really surprised they came and they came when they said they would . I appreciate that . Have fun with the long waits, if they even come. I have used them over 5 times so far in modesto. 4 times the wait was DOUBLE what I was quoted and one time the taxi never showed after 45 minutes over quote. When I called to cancel it, the operator acted as if he was doing me a favor by canceling it. If you must use this service, be sure to tell them that you will not pay if they are late, but then I am sure that the sleazy operators will just throw a flaming bag of poo at your house anyways. read more

We had a scheduled pick up from a skilled nursing facility for my great aunt today due to the requirement for a wheelchair transport. We were picked up about 10 minutes past our scheduled pick up time and taken to her appointment. This was all fine and the driver, Donna, was friendly. The trouble was when we called for pickup for the return trip. When we called we were told 40 minutes for pick up, no problem. We wait, no cab. We waited 2 hours 10 minutes and were never picked up. At this point my aunt who is 100 years old was left stranded. I finally had to use the bus to get her back to her nursing facility. read more

On 11-22-17, called in for svc., (lady) liar would be more appropriate advised me it would be 20-30 minutes, I gave her the address as well as the business name, this experience could go on for hours, so in a nut shell, 2 1/2 hrs. later After standing outside of the business, in order for United Cab to see me, in 62 degree weather, I'm 69 y/o, medical conditions, the staff they have are rude, liars, time after I was told they (cab) is 2-3 minutes away, they just kept me hanging on. As a follow-up these cab companies, obtain permits to operate, within a certain boundary, the only thing that will get their attention, guess what United, yeah, I'm calling that city authority that hands out these permits. read more

I had used United Cab twice with no problem using my credit card here in Modesto,CA. But the third time I had to use them to go home from a car repair service, the end of the trip turned very negative. I was told the price (matching the trip meter) was $13.25. I gave the lady a $20 bill and she said she didn't have any cash for the change and that I'd have to go to a store to get some smaller bills. I was not allowed to use my credit card. So after arriving at home she took me to the store where I got the bills, returned to my home and then she asked me for $21. So she added the extra trip needed to get the change, and at that price I didn't need the smaller change anyway. She, and the company is a ripoff. They made my 86 year old mother wait for one hour and 45 minutes to be returned from her Doctor's appointment to her rehabilitation facility. An orthopedic patient, with a broken pelvis, sitting in a wheel chair for all this time. Three calls to their dispatch resulted in my being chastised for not waiting "a bit" for their wheelchair taxi. Two weeks ago on a Saturday(sorry it took so long to post this!) we went to a pre wedding party and knew that we were going to be drinking. A friend picked us up but we had to get a ride home so before the party I had called United to see about pricing as I had never taken a cab before. i was happy with the price and advised that we would be calling back that night. The person that answered the phone let me know that they are busy on Saturday and to call about 45 minutes in advance. The cab was there in 20 minutes(AWESOME) and our driver Ana was extremely friendly! Ana asked us about our music tastes to make sure that our ride was enjoyable and the cab was VERY clean! Very bad service and horrible customer service! My office called a cab for a patient who was in a wheelchair about 5pm. An hour later, the patient is found trying to walk home, when one of the staff called United Cab to check on his ride and was informed that they were on "Coffee", not too far away. Another 20-30 minutes go by and we call United Cab and were told they were on "Rumble"-what!?-that's farther away. They told us, "we have to take the pre-paid customers first". All in all, we called United about 6 times, tried to get another taxi service, but found out that most of the taxi's in town are owned by the same company. Patient ended up being picked up at 6:50pm by an unapologetic driver who had their kid in the front seat with them. I'm so fired up about this company! Look, this company put me in DANGER! I am warning anyone to find another cab company. I commute to work in SF from modesto and take the max to bart bus, which arrives downtown at 440am. I called United to pick me up at 415am to get me there on time. My driver arrived at 400am. Early is good but if I knew he would kick me out of the cab onto dark desolate streets once we arrived I would have called in sick to my job. So, we arrive downtown at 425am, my fare is $9.95. I ask politely if I can remain in the cab until the bus arrives, Id gladly pay an extra ten dollars for a tip if so. Guy says no, I have another call in the area. As I look out the window I see 4 to 5 homeless people, no security or police and a dimly lit parking lot. I ask the driver if hes sure its safe for me to get out and wait for the bus, he says its not in his control what happens after I exit the cab, wow. In the bay area you can always get a cab to wait for a double tip, I don't know why in a city this size he just HAD to kick me out. So, I pay him ten bucks and get out in the darkness. Im in health care, so im in my scrubs freezing my butt off. I got my work laptop in a leather case worth enough to get hurt for and no choice but to sit and wait. I walk past the homeless and drug addicted, and as the train roars past im hit up for a cigarette by the homeless. I say I don't smoke and suddenly get a terrible sinking feeling as the 3 people start advancing toward me. I began walking as fast as I could down J street towards the street lights, in fear. I missed my bus, I missed work. I took another cab company home. And id like everyone to know, United cab is a terrible company. To clarify, the driver was terrible. He had a stutter and was very cold, so if you get this guy, get out and walk. Itll be safer. read more

Whenever I need a ride for a night out or to wherever, United Cab is my go to transport service HANDS DOWN! I always hesitate and get nervous when taking public transportation cuz you never know who u can trust and what kind of weird creeps are out there nowadays... BUT when Jay (the owner/driver) first picked me up, we clicked right away and he has been my dude to call ever since! Very social, nice, funny and professional. Always makes every ride comfortable and fun. Very prompt with time too! I can always count on him to take care of me and my friends when we go out, never fails. And when I have large groups, he also makes sure that there are enough of his cabs available for us. AND he doesn't try to take advantage and rip you off by taking longer routes, driving hella slow, or talking extra jibberish after u have already arrived to your destination to milk time like some other cab drivers I know, which is a huge plus in my book! The cars are very clean and doesn't have a weird old or smokers stench, another plus! Modesto isn't a really big city for cabs, but if u wanna save yourself from a DUI or just need a ride, I highly recommend them for your next pick up and dont forget to ask for JAY! read more

Tonight I took this taxi service after getting groceries. Being too busy flirting on the phone with some woman about her salon rental, the driver not only failed to notice that he was going the wrong way, but he also failed to notice how fast he was driving. He became pissy when I asked him if he knew where my apartment building was, despite having asked me about my apartment's location not 10 minutes prior. If you call this company and you get a man with reddish-brown hair and a goatee driving you, my advice is to buckle up and hope you make it home in one piece. read more

Don't let them send a driver named Sean to you. He's a Really gross older man who looks a bit like Santa Claus, except he Always wears tie dye shirts !! The 1st time he picked up a friend of mine & I up (were both girls in our 20's) he kept hitting on us. He says Hee, Hee, Hee, in a Really creepy way. Then he says "do either of you want to sit in Santas lap ?" "I'll turn the meter off and you can pay me in another way, Hee, Hee, Hee." Soooo Gross ! A couple of weeks later he is the 1 they sent out again and he started smiling as soon as he saw us. "Who's going to ride in the front with Santa this time girls?" I was trying to take care of my friend, she was Really drunk. When we got to my house, he is trying to convince her to let him take her home "safe" saying that he won't charge her.
