Interior of our taxi
Tiffany Y.

United Cab is currently permitted with Broward County, Florida to provide taxi services throughout the area. My husband and I had just disembarked a cruise ship in the Fort Lauderdale port, and we needed a ride to the airport. We saw a line of taxis, and an employee assigned us to the first taxi in the line, which happened to be from United Cab. The driver got out of the taxi and placed my husband's and my suitcases in the back of his spacious vehicle. He drove us to the airport safely and in a reasonable amount of time, and he unloaded our suitcases from the back. At the beginning of the ride, he had said that the minimum fee was $20, but at the end of the ride, the meter gave us a price that was several dollars less. We gave him a tip of several dollars. He did not say thank you.

Don't get into this car

Similar story as everyone here. Got into this car from the cruise port, didn't want to wait for a Lyft cus we just wanted to get out of the chaos. Such a mistake. This dude told us minimum is $20 given our hotel was somewhat close, we said fine, totally okay with overpaying for convenience. Once we arrived, however, he immediately turned hostile as soon as my husband got out his credit card. He proceeded go say that cc company take 15% and not worth it for him. We said we have no cash, total truth. Then he changed his story that his machine was not working. My husband basically had to give him the take it or leave it talk for him to back down. Never again. No wonder taxi is a dying business.

Cab from pier at Ft. Lauderdale

Riders beware! Before boarding a United Cab at the Ft. Lauderdale airport, I inquired at the Information Desk whether they were metered. The answer was yes, but when I boarded the cab at the taxi stand, the meter was off. I asked the driver to turn it on and he said the fare was fixed at $30. My hotel concierge said it should've been less than $20. Returning from a cruise on 3/8/2025, I boarded cab #638 which had stickers all over the windows alerting passengers that all rides were metered. I asked the driver to turn the meter on. He said the same thing -- rides to airport are fixed price ($26). I had no choice but to pay.

do not ride with them, they were very misleading about pricing (told us one thing and in the end it was more), added extra miles on to the trip... never again highy do not recommend!!!!

I usually prefer using Uber, but I always end up taking a taxi when returning from the airport because it tends to be faster. On November 26, I left Fort Lauderdale Airport and informed the cab driver I was headed to downtown Hollywood right off US1. However, the driver chose to bypass US1 and took 595 to 95 South instead, which more than doubled the distance from the airport to my home. When I questioned him about this route, he claimed it was the best option because he assumed I was a tourist. Consequently, I was charged $48.32 for what should have been only a $20 fare--$30 with a tip would have been acceptable. It's no surprise that many people have a lack of trust in taxi drivers. The cab was dirty, the driver acted oblivious, and the overall experience was disappointing. I suppose I'll have to wait a bit longer to use Uber next time.

Cab 022 showing that they take card

Picked us up at the cruise terminal and managed to fit 4 people and 5 suitcases into a 4 person vehicle, but failed to inform us that his credit card machine is "broken" we had no cash. The place we were dropped off did not have an ATM so he forced us to Zelle his personal number the $25. Cab 022

When my husband and I left the Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport, we needed a ride to our hotel. I had considered using my phone to request a ride from Uber or Lyft, but I noticed several taxis waiting nearby, so I decided to use the first taxi, which said "Sunshine" on the side. The taxi driver helped my husband and me to put our two suitcases in the back of the van. My husband and I used one door to climb into the back seat. The driver began to drive away, but I noticed that my seatbelt was stuck inside the other door, so we repeatedly asked the driver to stop driving. He stopped driving, and he opened the door so I could pull the seatbelt out. The driver did not wear his seatbelt. The interior of the van looked like it had a worn condition, particularly for the seats and seatbelts. According to my Google Maps app on my cell phone, this driver drove us directly to our hotel. He did not take any meandering route. At the hotel, he removed our suitcases from the back of his vehicle. According to the screen inside the van, the cost for the ride was $19-something (I forget the exact cents), but the driver told us outside that the cost was $20-something. My husband did not want to use the credit-card machine inside the vehicle, because he felt concerned about skimming. He had only 20-dollar bills, and he did not want to give over a 100% tip, so he asked the driver for a $10 bill in change. The driver made a face but did hand over the $10 in change. I think that a $10 tip for a $19-something ride is a good tip, so I would have preferred that the driver not make a face.
