It was lovely to see the stylists have assistants to help them with each client, as if they were the only ones in the store. Plus the complimentary beverages were offered to both me and my niece, which was super awesome! I got the "Brad Pitt" latte, which was tasty! My niece didn't partake, but that was ok. Once she was done, payment was easy and my niece said her hair felt and looked amazing! She actually wanted to know what products were used in her hair (when they did the complimentary shampoo and rinse) because she said it was so soft! I'll definitely be back!

I serendipitously found this hair salon when I was picking up some groceries. Located in the same…read moreplaza as Stater Bros, Hair by Kay is a woman-owned shop where the owner and stylists really do take the time and care for the patrons. I called day of (Friday) to schedule an appointment, and they were still able to accommodate me to come in that day. I was looking to do a basic blowout with curls. Because the stylists were all occupied with other patrons, I did have to wait a bit before getting the wash and conditioning, but that was not an issue because they were consistently acknowledging my presence and said they'll be with me shortly. After the wash, the stylist sectioned off my hair to blow-dry, and once that was done, she curled my hair. Because my hair is relatively straight, the stylist made sure that the curls stay intact by continuously hair spraying them down before I left the shop. Thanks to Hair by Kay, my curls did last for my function, and I was very satisfied!

The person cutting hair seemed nice too. But I didn't like my haircut. I have attached the image I showed for inspiration. I am not a barber, but when you do fades, having a little slope is good, with smooth transition, not making head like a square. I wouldn't make the fade too high. You need to add some weight on the sides. Second, the images in the reviews have a crisp hairline in the forehead. If you charge extra, I could have paid. Now I am trying to style my hair, it seems so bad. Asking customers at the end if you like the hair, do you wanna make changes? These things are very important to gain trust. I couldn't tell about my hair because I was never turned to the mirror and got busy with the ATM thing as I didn't know you only accepted cash, not even online. I wouldn't have written review now if I was only asked that question. I want the business to grow. Just some suggestions.
