Although it is easy to miss this little place right on the corner of Imperial and Studebaker, in a tiny strip mall across the street from the Costco, I cannot praise them highly enough. Today, I needed to get a haircut for a beloved relative with cognitive disabilities, who is highly functional but with tics that sometimes unnerve people. Even so, Roberto was SO kind and attentive, and he did everything that my relative wanted done. There was no distinction in his professional treatment; he talked with my relative just as he would with anyone, which is such a huge positive, and it boosted my relative's mood to be treated so well. My relative looked like a whole new person when done, and that is entirely due to Roberto's skill and listening skills. In addition, while I was waiting, a lady brought in her elderly mother in a wheelchair, and the female beautician did an amazing job, and was so sweet to her. As a caregiver, this means a great deal. The facility is small, but it is very clean, and it has a very nice atmosphere. Highly recommend! Do not overlook this place because it's small. Talk about a Baberahop that when you come in no one greets you or asks if you need a haircut. Claudia, she's the lady to the right, has no barber skills. She can't make a straight line to save her life. She has no patience with kids and was very aggressive when cutting my 10 year old hair. My son asked her repeatedly to be more sensitive when fading his hair and she didn't care she just kept saying he was exaggerating. The rest of the barbers seem pretty good but need to learn how to be more professional. When there done cutting someone hair, instead of asking if anyone is next they just sit down and look at their phone. Finally, I would just say, this is not a kid friendly place at all period. First, I have to say that I love this place! I had been looking for a Barber shop since the whole Covid-19 situation happed a few years ago. I saw this place and stopped by to see if this could be my new spot. I met Claudia and she became my best Barber ever!!! She is very friendly and professional with me and all the clients I see her interact with. She is always smiling and makes me feel welcome! Her barber skills are excellent as she always listens attentively to what I want done to my hair. While cutting my hair, she is always careful and gentle the whole time I'm there. Claudia engages in conversations with me while she's cutting my hair, and I truly appreciate that she cares to hear about my day and on goings. The owner is the best at cutting hair by far however she's not there all the time. Totally understandable since business is doing well but there are too many new faces to keep track of. Not to be nitpicking but after getting comfortable with a couple of barbers you tend to gravitate towards them. On my last visit there was a gentleman cutting hair in street clothes and wasn't as "prompt" as other barbers. Luckily there was someone else there and I just waited for her. Don't really bother with names since like I said they often change. Service and prices are still great and the end result is a clean haircut. This Barber Shop really cares about the customer experience. As soon as you walk in you see the space is big enough to seat over 20 customers and they also cater to your kids. They have a great kids play area that will keep your kids entertained while you get your haircut. Also they always have the latest movie showing in their lobby area while you get your haircut. The best thing about this place are their hours, they open at 8am which is great for me because I can get a haircut before going to work. The level of customer service is second to none, Beatriz and Joe always make it a priority to make you feel at home. The prices are great, $12 for a fade is a steal for the level of service. The absolute worst haircut I've ever received in my life by the most unprofessional lady who has ever used a set of clippers. I stated multiple times that I just wanted a little off the top. She proceeds to just start hacking my hair with the clippers in almost a mohawk fashion. I was absolutely furious that even after I said THREE TIMES not so short she didn't listen and kept buzzing me even shorter. I was so upset I just got up and left without her finishing, I have been wearing a hat every day since then until it grows out. Hours posted until 5:00 pm, Asian lady inside would not open door at 4 pm. I could see her inside. Even knocked on the door. If they don't want to take customers late in the day they should change the posted hours or at least keep the door open and talk to the customer. So we usually go to this super rad Barbershop in Downey. But my son needed an emergency haircut and this location is closer to us and wasn't booked. We should have just gone to our Barbershop instead! The lady who cut his hair did a super choppy job! The fade is patchy as hell because all of her clippers looked old and not very well taken care of! I asked her to taper the top of his hair so the back is shorter and the front is longer, she just asked me how much I Wanted taken off and proceeded to just chop away leaving an uneven taper. So now when its styled upward there's a noticeable difference in length instead of a gradual taper. The hard part she did is also uneven and super thick...Overall super unhappy with the haricut. The first time I came here I got a trim and it was okay, nothing special--and for 20 bucks I was fine with it. Now, this second time I came it was a whole different story. First, as soon as I walked in the woman who cut my hair talked to me like if she hated her life. I sat down in the chair ready for haircut and I noticed she was talking to someone on the phone on her AirPods. I'd say that is pretty unprofessional especially since her next words were "ok what do you want" in the most annoyed manner--as if I had interrupted her call. And when I started to tell her what I wanted she cut me off and didn't let me finish telling her. She began to cut--again--in the most unenthusiastic manner possible with a limp wrist at times. She continuously scraped my ears and head as she worked. Not to mention she was pushing into me the whole time. Halfway through she said she would leave one side longer than the other because "she knew exactly what I would want" and that I just "had to be open minded." Well folks, let me tell you, this was not what I wanted at all. This had been--by far--the worst haircut I have ever received in my entire life. So bad that I gave myself a buzz cut afterwards to try and make myself somewhat presentable. My old barber had upped the price so I had been looking for a new one but after this awful experience I will never question their prices again. My 1st visit, got hair dyed and highlights. Was a little intimidated by the size but I have to tell you the hospitality and excellent job done on my hair makes up for the size of the place. i was very upset with the owner. she hired this guy joe even though she knows his not lincensed. she still has him cutting hair in the barber shop. i arrived there one afternoon the place wasnt busy at all, joe was the only one there shaving. i asked for a low fade and no line on the side. i ended up witha pan line all around my head. no fade. i called betty the owner i explain the situation she asked to return and she will fix it.she fixed it sh also charged me again the ten bucks. i was furious!!!! not becausei paid. i expected her to fix my haidlr n reprend her employee for fucking up my hair.... she didnt and whe was like whatever. so i will never attend this location. poor customer service!!!!! read more
