Initially I was caught off guard by her interest in finding more items for me to try on. I knew a lot of the items were out of my price range anyway and I'm not used to sales associates paying so much attention to me. Even so, I ended up buying a lovely skirt suit; a splurge for sure, but I never would have discovered it without the associate bringing the items into my room and helping me find the right fit (turns out I'm a 6 on top and a 10 on bottom--never knew that). Yesterday I went in again with a few returns and ended up finding a dress I loved. The associates were not quite as helpful; it took several minutes for someone to come over, ask if I needed a dressing room, and take my items off to a room (this is only worth noting since my first experience was so stellar). While I was gathering things up, two associates (not the one who helped me) were chatting to each other and basically ignoring me and my small pile. I feel like a diva even saying it--again, I'm more of a Loft girl than a WHBM girl--but it wasn't what I'd experienced the first time. For that reason I've removed a star. All the same, I enjoyed my experience, found a great deal on a black dress, and got my items returned/exchanged to my satisfaction. Also worth noting: it doesn't impact my rating for this particular store, but if you ever have to return items to WHBM, do it in person at a store. I have been waiting for weeks for a refund on four items that I mailed back almost a month ago. Meanwhile, the returns I brought to the store yesterday were refunded today. Much faster turnaround even if it takes an extra trip to get to a store!

I haven't been in for a few months, so the staff may have completely changed and/or improved by now.

I once had to try on three pairs of the same shorts in progressively smaller sizes until I got the right one. There's a section toward the back with already marked down clothes for an additional 40% off. I got a cute flannel top for only $29.99. Amazing. I got another top in a similar style for $59.50. These tops usually go for $79.50, so I'm very pleased. Also, I found the sizing for the tops are a lot more on target than the shorts I bought here. My fall aesthetic is flannel shirts plus denim cut offs over black tights with doc martens, so these are great finds. Yes, I'm going for janeane garafalo circa 1994.
