The Buckstaff was built in 1912, and once you enter the locker room you step back in time over 100 years. It's one of 2 operating bathhouses on Bathhouse Row, but the only one that maintains the original feel. The treatments and fixtures are the same as they have been for the last century. I was fortunate to have Ricky as my attendant, who has worked at Buckstaff since 1977. He made sure I had a great experience! I also had an excellent massage from Ryan. I can't recommend Buckstaff Bathhouse enough. Step back in time and enjoy the thermal waters of Hot Springs!

The thing I really enjoyed at Buckstaff that was not offered at the other bathhouse was the steam cabinet. However, this was only about 5 minutes of my visit, so I would say if I returned, I might not go back to Buckstaff. However, I absolutely recommend visiting this one so you can decide which is your favorite! Here is the sequence of events I experienced (thermal bath experience with no massage/paraffin): I got there before 8 and there were four couples ahead of me in line. By the time 8 rolled around there were many more people behind us. Definitely recommend getting there early! The check in process was a little chaotic because the people behind the table just said "whoever was here first, come to the counter." We were all sort of in a blob and once one person jumped in front of someone else who had been there before she had, the vibe got a little weird. I kind of wish they had deli numbers or something, but oh well. I am sure it all works out. The people who worked there were all very friendly, and the people in the treatment room were SUPER busy the whole time, but very friendly. I got changed, got my sheet, and went in for my bath. They offered a loofa but no other extras (like scented salts) but I can understand why since it was a tighter space. If there were any smells in there, it could get really challenging for people sensitive to smells. My bath was fine and I enjoyed the loofa. Then I went to the cooling table. The hot towels cooled off pretty quickly, and they were more draped over me than wrapped (which was what I saw for everyone, so it wasn't just me). I don't know if that is why they cooled so quickly, but I was kind of there in cold towels for a bit which was less pleasant. Next, I went to the steam cabinet which was my favorite. I did not know how I would feel because the steam cabinet is so strange looking, but I would 10/10 want to do this or something like it again. It was like the best of both worlds being able to breathe regular air while experiencing the benefit of a steam sauna on my body. Next was the sitz bath. I was looking forward to this unique experience, but I could take it or leave it. Maybe I don't have the concerns that would make this a dream come true feeling, but I kind of just felt awkward and like I was sitting in warm water on a towel. I then went back to get dressed and leave. It was overall a great experience I feel very lucky to have had. Hot Springs offers some "nowhere else" type National Park experiences, and I definitely 100% recommend supporting the thermal baths and their employees! I would take my own clean flip flops for next time. I think they offer spa shoes, but I don't remember seeing anyone who had them.

She literally just rubbed oil on my body, rubbed cleaner on my face for the facial, rubbed sugar scrub on my feet for my foot massage. The extremely occasional pressure she'd apply once every five minutes for five seconds (I wish I was exaggerating) hurt more then it felt nice. Left hurting more then when I came in. My moms masseuse (unfortunately I do not remember her name) was absolutely amazing she said, the best massage of her life. With all that being said I'm glad my mom had an amazing experience, but paying $340 plus tax plus tips to have an experience like that... I just don't think it was worth it. Unless I could guarantee I'd get a good masseuse I wouldn't go back, or I'd just go back for the baths.

I have been going to Ulta for almost a year. Chris has been very good and he had cut and colored my…read morehair correctly. Unfortunately Chris started his own cosmetic business and so he no longer works at Ulta. He was so professional I continued to go to Ulta. Three months ago, I could not get an appointment with Chris so I went and booked an appointment with Sarah. After my hair cut, I saw that my left side was longer than the right, and mentioned that and asked her to even it up. She immediately used the electric shear and cut it half inch shorter than the right side. She did it so quickly I did not have time to say anything about it so the following month, I went in and mentioned it to Chris, which he corrected for me and also colored my hair. After he corrected Sarah's mistake, he told me he will no longer be working there and recommended another hairdresser but she is no longer there now so I ended up with Sarah again this time which I have great reservation and went in with trepidation. Unfortunately, you can see from this picture how dark she colored my hair (about three shades too dark). She said she was just following the formula in the computer. This formula has been correct since May 2021. I even questioned her while she was doing the coloring because it appeared to be too dark. She told me it would be fine which it was not (as you can see from the pictures).
