I used Unique Sarah for my wedding in 2011. I will say everything looked beautiful, especially our reception centerpieces. They were gorgeous, incorporating small twisted wood pieces with the flowers. I can't think of the right word to describe the wood, except for like a gnarly sort of driftwood... At any rate my crafty type guests took the centerpieces home to use for art projects. They were pretty; lots of bright colors.
Unfortunately, there were some disappointments.
1) My bouquet was to be mostly white with pink interspersed. Upon delivery the bouquet was white with orange and yellow accents. I like orange and yellow, but I wanted pink. Pink was in our contract.
2) The boutineirres and bridesmaids' bouquets were supposed to have black ribbon around the stems. The ribbon was orange.
3) The really upsetting mistake was that U.S. decorated the front of the church aisle with tulle. At our last meeting I specifically said "no tulle" THREE TIMES. (I got scared when I saw she had a sketch of tulle decorating the aisle- and when I said no, she just put it back in my paperwork). Sorry girls, but I really hate tulle, and I really didn't want it to be used as decoration. As happy and excited as I was to walk down the aisle, it really upset me when I saw it upon my entrance.
I picked a church that was very beautiful on its own, and it really didn't need any decoration. I didn't really want anything on the ends of the pews- frequently florists will put a small bouquet on the ends. In our initial meetings I said I didn't want anything on the pews, but then Sarah said something to convince me that we should put flowers on the pews. I went along with it, but now, I kinda wish I'd stood my ground. It's your wedding, ladies, do it your way!
After the wedding Sarah emailed me that she'd heard there were some concerns (she's friends with our photographer). I explained to her the 3 things I was upset about, and I asked if I could get a refund of $200. (I had paid... ugh... $4000... yeah). She responded that refunds were not in their store policy, but she did offer to give me a nice plant as an apology, if I wanted to come pick it up. Riiiight. I suppose a nice gesture, but definitely not making up for the horrendous tulle. Keep in mind, the tulle and my orange flowers are in my pictures!!
I will say, again, though, that the flowers were beautiful. I noticed in the cocktail hour room there was a very nice floral arrangement that we had definitely not discussed, yet it was perfect for the table it was on (the arrangement was in an unsual narrow and long black wood box). So in that way, I appreciated the extra effort. read more
