I went here to order a bridesmaid dress for my sister's out of town wedding. I waited a bit too long and ended up having to rush order the dress for an additional $30 fee. No big deal, that was my mistake. When I ordered the dress, I paid in full and was told they would call when it arrived at the end of September. October 1st rolls around and still no word on the dress. I called that week and was put on hold for some time while they searched the store. Apparently it had been sitting in the back- no one called me so thankfully I took the initiative on my own. I scheduled a fitting the following day for 2pm, got a babysitter and expected everything to go smoothly. When I arrived for my appointment, I had a 30 minute wait. The place was packed, they couldn't find my dress and kept coming back out to ask me info to locate it, was I sure it had arrived, did someone call me to tell me it was in house, etc. I eventually did the fitting and was told it would be ready 2 days before leaving for the wedding and it would cost an additional $40 for alterations. I picked my finished dress up last night and was in a hurry as I didn't have the luxury of getting a babysitter for my kids again. I took it out to show my husband this morning and the dress is completely wrinkled from head to toe. Apparently paying $300 plus $40 for alterations doesn't include Unique giving my dress a once over with a steamer. I will never do business here again. It was less than a satisfying experience and now I'm trying to find someone in Chicago to steam my dress before the wedding Saturday. read more

If you're over a size 16, don't bother with this place! My sister made an appt for her two bridesmaids (myself one of those) to try on dresses. One of us is a size 16, the other a 20. We were taken to the dressing rooms and told if a dress doesn't fit, they can pin it. She brought us all size 12 and under, nothing would even go on us! How do you pin a dress that doesn't even fit on the person? When she kept bringing dresses that wouldn't go over our hips, I flat out asked "What do you do when girls are over a size 14?" The shop owners response? "Usually there's someone in the group small enough to try on the dress." That's when I put my clothes on and told her I was leaving and what a waste of time the whole experience was. I will never be back here again! read more

I absolutely do not recommend Unique Boutique. If you are looking for a wedding or prom dress, I would go somewhere else. They just added stress to an experience that should have been fun. Which was wedding dress shopping. Here's how my experience of shopping there went: * They bumped us from the 11am appointment they set up because they overbooked. The woman told us that if we had come in sooner and got there before the two people that were there currently, we could have had our 11 o'clock appointment. It doesn't seem very professional to hand out appointments on a first come first serve basis. * When we arrived again at 12:30 we had to wait probably 10 minutes or more because they couldn't find my dress. * After the dress was pinned they informed me that alterations would be $200 despite the fact that we were all told on the day I bought it that it would be free. * They changed their story when we questioned them about the alteration price. We had been told that we would get free alterations when I bought my dress at the bridal show we were attending. All I had to do was show up within a certain allotted time slot. So, we set up an appointment ASAP for that very reason, but on the date we went back to the store for said alterations the owner told us only the first three dresses sold got free alterations. The only reason we were getting alterations now when the wedding is a year or more in the future was because they were free and if my body hadn't changed by the wedding I would have an altered dress. In other words, why not? * When we returned for the promised refund for the dress, after I found a better dress elsewhere, they informed us that there would be a $35 charge for the dress being off the rack. When my friend questioned this and said we needed to ask the person whose card the refund was going on first, the woman was very rude. She told us it was "her fault for not getting it in writing" and that she was "doing us a favor" by refunding it and not charging us for the dress pinning that took all of 5 minutes after an hour and a half wait from our original appointment time. Since I was buying the dress at a sale price for that specific time, they will be making more money on it now than they would have with me (about $400 more). So the $35 fee was pretty ludicrous and greedy, in my opinion. * As she was doing the refund, she left to talk to a customer who was already being assisted. Then she answered the phone (several employees were there and free to answer it). Then she stopped again to speak to a customer. Basically she wasted as much of our time as she could muster. Needless to say they have terrible customer service, are rude, and evidently do not value integrity. * I honestly believe that whoever sold us the dress either got the information wrong on the day and thought everyone would get free alterations or was just trying to sell the dress and make money by being dishonest. From what I've dealt with thus far I would say it's the latter. If you're looking for a dress I would recommend David's Bridal, which is where I found my new dress. The assistant was very helpful and sweet. Everyone there was nice and helped me. They had a big selection that had a good price range (some gorgeous and extravagant dresses for $1,000+ and some more modest ones for around $600 - $800). Mine is beautiful, romantic, and lacy. It was originally priced at $899, but everything was on sale for 20%. Overall I've had a very good experience there thus far. They told us upfront that the alterations are not free and were honest when they said they couldn't say exactly how much they would cost because it depended on what was done. I will be waiting until closer to the wedding to get alterations this time since there is no rush now. I hope your wedding experience is a great one! Hopefully I won't have too many more bumps in the road myself. :) Update: 6/30/2015 The same boutique has called us twice (once maybe six months after our ordeal and again last month) to tell us that our dress has been altered and we can pick it up. We told them both times that we returned the dress. This store seems to be very disorganized. It's especially odd when they charged us $35 for the dress being off the rack a few weeks. This was the first shop I went to while starting my hunt for my Senior prom dress. The store was busy so I started to look through the dresses on my own. I asked one of the employees if it were at all possible to try on one dress I had seen from the mannequin. I tried it on and she asked me what I thought and I told her I liked it, but wasn't going to decide on it just yet since it was the first one I had tried on. I told her I wanted to look around and she seemed offended by that. She practically kicked me out of the dressing room by taking the dress and telling me, "Good luck finding a dress somewhere else." One of the most unprofessional business experiences I have ever encountered. I brought a prom dress to the store to be altered for a prom is over 3 weeks away. All of the ladies at the desk were very friendly and assisted me in trying it on and discussing what needed to be altered. After I requested a simple hem, the ladies went to ask the woman in charge of the actual altering (her name was Kris). She told me she did not have time for that whatsoever. In an extremely, overly rude tone, she consistently told me in no way would she ever have time for that and it was wrong for me to assume she could. HOWEVER, Ms. Monica and her lovely assistant received me in good hands and found the dress in a jiffy that she picked out for me. Once I got the dress on, it was a bit too tight round the waist though I really loved the way it looked and the seamstress assured me they could accommodate me and take it out. We were visiting from out of town and decided to do some additional wedding dress shopping while we were here. We weren't sure if we'd be happy with this place because of the negative reviews, but we LOVED our experience here. My sister is the bride, and she was able to peruse the dresses to find what she liked, as well as get help from the consultant. Donna was so sweet and fun to work with, she came across as very genuine. We even found our top contender for the perfect dress! I definitely recommend here! read more

My sister found this boutique and the OWNER Donna stated if we got everybody in the shop to order their dresses (pay half of the balance) that she would go ahead and order the dresses so that they would be back by 10/2016. We got everyone to come in get fitted and pay their 50% of the balance of their dress. When we called to check on the order and the expected delivery dates Donna stated that the dress had no been ordered. We reminded Donna that she stated that we had to get everyone in that day with their deposit in order to place the order to get back in time. Donna stated that she would not say that to just one person. She was informed that she told the whole wedding party that. Still 04/2017 no dresses or refunds. I visited Unique Boutique today and received, hands down, the WORST service in my life. The owner and staffers ignored us as we wondered how to find particular styles and fabrics. We kept asking each other about prices and sizes, as the staff was deeply engrossed in a conversation of their own. We went with a boutique in hopes of finding a smaller establishment with attention to detail and remarkable customer service, but surprisingly we had to go down the road to David's Bridal for that. read more

I hate when people prey on others when they are in an emotional state. They take advantage of them when they are at their most vulnerable. This is a prime example of someone capitalizing on others emotions . My friend just got married Oct. 10, we went to the shop in July and ordered the dresses. The lady said we would have to pay a $30 rush fee for the dress to be back in September and this was not the 1st of September but the end. We all know this is a standard shipping but she says, "it's coming from overseas." Anyway,I paid the fee for the dress. When I called the boutique to pay the final payment on the dress, the lady told me that the bride had changed the dress to a long dress, (which is what we ordered) and that it would be an additional 20.00 fee to the dress and another $30 rush order fee for the change. I told the lady that my original order was for a long dress and the rush order fee had been paid. I read the order # to her and asked her, "is that not the long dress?" She then says, "the amount charged was for the short dress and we knew that the long dresses cost $20 more." Lady that is your fault! We had know control over what you charge I will only pay the balance on my ticket and nothing more. Once we went back and forth and they finally came around to honoring what they charged, I proceeded to pay for the dress. She then tells me there is a $3.00 service fee for paying with a credit card and I ask,"when did you start this?" She says,it's the store policy but it is not listed anywhere on the receipt and when I called the day before no one mentioned it when I asked if it could be paid over the phone. I was tired of arguing with the lady so I paid it. Once the dresses came back two weeks before the wedding we learn there is a $40 alteration fee. Here is my beef with them, they claim the dresses were made to order so why didn't they include the length in the order? It took forever for the dresses to come back although we paid the $30 rush fee and all of the dresses needed to be altered. Most of the girls paid the fee for the dresses to be altered by them but the dress where still too long the day of the wedding. read more

Sadly I referred a bride to your salon. Owner/manager told me I was starting "trouble" by asking for the $400 discount my bride was offered (not even) 24 hours before hand. The associate bad mouthed David's bridal, barefoot bride, lotus bridal, Lowe's as well as any/many other bridal stores (that the wedding party discussed) in an attempt to pressure the bride into making a spur of the moment decision/purchase right then. Your lack of respect for humans/customers is just sad. Our group of 5 left your store (with the brides DREAM dress purchased from you) completely silent on our ride home. No sobs of happiness. No "Oh my goodness, that was amazing." The mother of the bride could not even put into words her disappointment with the experience. She couldn't even try to act happy for her daughter because she was dumbfounded by the way the cashier/manager/owner spoke to us. You should be ashamed of sleeping every night on pillow paid for by your bullying tactics. I have personally been involved in purchasing numerous dresses from your store but to see your shady business practices 1st hand pertaining to bridal wear is absolutely disgusting. Your store will NEVER be so much as a whisper out of my mouth when anyone I know ever asks "where can I get the perfect dress for my wedding/special occasion?" Lesson learned. NEVER AGAIN. read more

Absolute the worse place to buy a dress! I purchased a dress with so much excitement and stars in my eyes that I didn't notice that it was a used dress!!!!Yes these people at unique boutique sold me a very USED dress!! When the tailor opened it up to tailor it was obvious that it had been worn it was yellow and black stains inside compared to the white of the inside of the seam .When My sister first saw the dress She noticed how grey the bottom of the dress was it was obvious it had been worn on concrete !I can't believe that a company does business like this shame on them! When I went to take it back the owner ms Donna had me waiting and later proceeded to mock me ,the customer , she wanted to send it to her dry cleaner and wouldn't give a name of the dry cleaner she used! I only wanted to take it to a dry cleaner of my choice because I did not trust this lying old lady named Donna and (owner )after selling me a used dress! Very unprofessional team of women running that place !At the end nothing was done about the dress ,so if you want to be crapped on what is supposed to be one of the best days of your life than go buy a used dress from unique boutique.Also the owner (ms.donna) said that sometimes the dresses are slightly worn and sometimes have punch stains or koolaid on them as well no joke ! Buyer beware, I know that she should of looked at the dress before purchasing but you shouldn't have to when nowhere in the store do they state that they sell used dresses. BUYER BEWARE go to David's bridal . You'll have a lot less stress. Honestly, I wish there was a way that I could give a zero for this "bridal salon". I am from Memphis but I live in NJ. I chose to buy my gown in Memphis for several reasons, but this salon makes me regret the decision. FIRST: I chose my dress in the beginning of June 2014. I was told I should receive it by October 31st. I received it the week after Thanksgiving. SECOND: I ordered a WHITE gown. I open the package (which the dress was stuffed in) and through the plastic I see brown specks on the inside cup of the dress and under the arm. As a makeup artist, I knew instantly it was foundation. I called the store immediately. No answer so I left a message. I called the next morning, no answer again. Finally, I called my mom to ask her to go to the store and inform the lady of the issue and have her call me. When Donna called, she said she didn't know how anything could have gotten on the dress. I was dumbfounded b/c clearly someone at her salon put their dirty hands on my dress (inside or not). I paid for a pristine WHITE dress. I asked for another dress to be ordered since my wedding is next summer. She called the manufacturer and my dress was discontinued on Dec.1st. THE DAY I RECEIVED THE DRESS! Donna said I could ship the dress back to her for cleaning + a 10% refund. I thought about it overnight. I decided I did NOT want to ship my dress back to her salon since #1 it has been discontinued #2 I didn't trust her with my dress b/c her employees have shown they have very little respect for gowns that people pay over a thousand dollars for #3 if something happens during shipping, I can't reorder my EXACT dress. So, I contacted her via email (which I did several times with no response) with a counter offer. I hold onto my dress and the store reimburses me 25% for shipping, cost of cleaning the dress in NJ/NYC and the negligence of her staff. She refused the offer. I informed her that she had RUINED the experience of purchasing my bridal gown. My fiancee advised me not to pursue it further, but it really is about the principle of the matter. PLEASE DO NOT BUY YOUR WEDDING GOWN FROM THIS PLACE! They are nice when you are trying on but if something goes wrong, they will not take responsibility. She tried to blame it on the manufacturer. Then in the next breath she said one of her college employees could have done it. It was most likely the latter. Also, she compared her store to Macy's and Dillard's. FIRST: this is a small "business" and there should be a difference. If I wanted to buy my dress at a department store, I would have done so! i am currently with a bridal party. i am a brides made... when we arrived to the fitting for the dresses for the bride mades. it was suppose to be a private fitting... they insisted that we be on time and that it would not take long... i made sure i arrived 15 mins early... from the moment i walked into the place there we people running all over the place... you could see nothing was organized in this place... the lady came over to us and waited for most to show up,,, and was suppose to be keeping up with who arrived when so she could go in order... we finally go to the private area ( which was in there stock room slash dressing room... on a good note they had a few snacks and some wine to offer... but nothing to open the wine and no one even knew how to open the wine... it was very stuffy and hot and not much room at all... in the middle of the fitting a sales lady brings a customer back there to began looking through boxes and boxes of stockings that were on top of a rack that neither she or the customer could not reach.... sooo she began to ask us to get them down... all while its hot and hardly no room for movement... instead of just taking the boxes out and letting the lady look outside the back room.. they look right there while we are all getting undressed and dressed... mine you i was the second person to arrive and they still have not gotten to me... finally after and hour i asked what they were going to do about me because i had to leave soon for work... she then said oh i dont have a dress for you to try on but i have your measurements thats all i need... wow ok... i then go to pay for the first part of my portion... of course i sit at the register for 15 mins and no one even looks my way... i had to leave the money with my friend to pay for it... sooooo i have been trying now for two weeks to pay the remaining balance.... i called no answer... i left a mesg with two numbers... no return call... called this week and they answered... left me on hold 30 mins before i hung up and tried to call back.... called back straight to voicemail..... the funny thing is i am getting married next and i am taking a lot of advice from the bride to be..... however this will not be one of those choices i choose to follow.... no matter how busy you are or how small of a business you have there should always be organization and professionalism especially when dealing with such special times in peoples lives.... read more
