As most readers will find through this yelp page, this credit service company is a scam. They send a "too good to be true" offer when read by the blind eye. But upon closer reading (the fine print, but also "in-between the line"), you will see that its nothing but a rip off. I went ahead and did a little "detective work" so I could make this post as relevant as possible. Its not a credit card with a credit line of $10k. Its an imaginary credit line to their product line, which you never see. They request that initial $37 fee, which goes to someone's pocket. It may seem like a small price to pay for such a great deal, but you get nothing in return. So the fat cat collecting that $37 bucks stores that money in his rolls and responds with a Class A "screw you". As for their customer service? I get better love from hungry ducks at a petting zoo... All the service reps care to talk about is how you plan to make that $37 payment. Upon showing lack of interest in doing so, they give a less then perfect middle finger (verbally, if you can imagine that) and hang up... So if you haven't managed to pick up the scam these guys are pulling by reading all these other yelp posts - get in the zone and recognize their truth. Don't go for this naive scam. read more

I have been receiving this letter from union workers credit services for years and I have noticed that they are consistently changing their address. This is too good to be true. Here is the bottom line, they try to make it look as if you are receiving some sort of real credit card like the major ones we are used to seeing. In essence, you are getting a credit card to buy only products they are associated with at exorbitant interest rates. Two things worthy of note: (1) they have horrible reviews all over the internet and most people use the word "scam" and (2) the fine print in their offer, and I mean real fine print, makes it clear that they are not associated with a bank, Visa or MasterCard and that the offer is NOT for a multipurpose credit card. ALMOST fell for this, for a person with rebuilding credit, thought this may be the right move, consolidate out standing credit cards to a low apr of 5%. After closer reading it's not even a credit card. I was pre approved for a "Credit Line" to shop on their catalog. Glad I didn't drop that 37 bucks on this. Just received this offer in the mail. From opening and READING I knew right away that this was not for me. PLATINUM what??? it never states because there is NO CREDIT CARD. There is no bank affiliation, etc. I immediately went to Google the website and it is also very vague with its available information, other than the fact that you can shop from their catalog. I got a letter just the other day from this "company" and knew all along it was a scam. With my credit I can't get a $300 credit limit without it being a secured line of credit. There's no way I would get a $10,000 credit limit. I searched online myself and found it was a scam just as I knew it was. One forum said the address was different than what's on my letter. Mine says Dallas TX. The others were another city in TX. And there is NO phone number to call or fine print. Really? It's sad that some people fall for this. read more

Totally deceptive - its NOT a credit card. Its shameful they should use words "Union": and "Workers" to make it look like they are helping ordinary people or those with bad credit. If your employees or managers read this -- YOU SHOULD BE ASHAMED, get a real job. Any real credit offer will have extensive disclosures required by law on the flip side running to a couple of pages, as soon as I turned this over it was clearly not a credit card. Of course they pick on adults that don't read the letters carefully enough. Right when I saw the letter, I had to check on the internet if this was real or not and thankfully yelp had plenty of reviews on this scam. This is extremely disheartening to see that these companies are picking on people who don't know what they're doing and just taking their money. I received this in the mail today and I will agree that there are many warning signs about this promotion that will indicate to throw it in the trash, but several of the other critics here are calling it a scam solely on the fact that it is not a credit card. A line of credit is as valid of a source of credit as a credit card so that alone does not make it a scam. Just because it is not a Visa or Mastercard does not make it irrelevant or a scam. What makes it a poor choice is still up for discussion since their website does not allow you to actually view specific items in their catalog. My guess is the items in their catalog are priced significantly higher than if you purchased them in a store. For those with poor credit this can be a way to own certain necessities that they would otherwise not be able to have. Will they pay more, yes, but that does not make this company evil. There are plenty of other companies that do the same thing, but life is about choices so it is up to the individual to decide for them self. For those that are desperate and no traditional company will offer them credit, companies such as this is their only option. read more

I received this today and decided to sniff around on the internets before sinking in 37 towards this. I just had to deal with 'Horizon Gold' that does something very similar. Thankfully my bank helped me get the money refunded... I return ALL these types of mail solicitations with all my junk mail so the postage cost more than an empty envelope. I was told by Consumer Credit Counseling, if they ask for money to get a credit card it's a scam. Credit company's just send you the card AFTER you fill out the information to see if you qualify. If you do they just send the card and information about the card. The end. So if you get a letter like the one I got today asking for money just put it in your favorite file.....13, shred, burn, start your wood stove with it, pick up dog poop with it....you get the idea. I though at first it was a total scam because I misread the offer. If you call the number it clearly will tell you that this offer is not a credit card but a credit line with this specific company. No, they do not take your money and run, they actually sign you up as a member on a credit line to purchase products from them or companies that agreed to sign up with them. I signed up. If you read on it does say: "Pre-Approved for a Platinum Card Membership". $37.00 fully refundable.fee.- Credit is valid "exclusively" toward purchases from credit provider specified above...I certainly did not see who the "provider" was. read more

They give the names of the companies, but nothing more. Their website also looks really old and outdated. I sent back the return envelope with a special surprise inside ...
