This review is long overdue. I went to Dr Lee after 5 years…read moreof trying to conceive, having tried everything and exhausted all options. I was mentally and physically drained after years of alternative therapies, fertility massages, acupuncture with different practitioners, HSG, 3 rounds of failed IVF and multiple miscarriages. Apparently my eggs were all abnormal and fertility doctors gave me a 1% chance of getting pregnant. Defeatedly, we began looking into donor eggs and adoption. Then a friend suggested the book "Making Babies" by Dr Sami David and I had a phone consultation with him. At this time, I was 41 and he convinced me to try one more time to have a baby naturally. I found Dr Lee on Google and skeptically began a 3 month treatment program with her - acupuncture weekly with Chinese herbs twice a day, 6 days a week. My husband and I were also very strict with our diets - no alcohol, sugar, pasta, limited beef, no tofu. I had an inkling that I was pregnant about 12 weeks into the treatment but didn't want to get my hopes up. It was too early for a pregnancy test so I mentioned it to Dr Lee. She adapted her treatment in case I was. My pregnancy was confirmed and my OB/GYN began weekly tests with me as I was considered 'extremely high risk'. They expected me to get gestational diabetes with a high chance of abnormalities. I continued treatment with Dr Lee during my first trimester. She helped me with nausea and general well-being. In the end, I had a smooth pregnancy and gave birth at 42y.o. with absolutely no complications as my OB/GYN kept on expecting. My beautiful daughter is now 20 months old, very happy, healthy and bright. She is truly a miracle and would not exist if it weren't for Dr Lee. We truly cannot thank Dr Lee enough. To women out there reading this, I wish you all the best. Know that there are others going through this long exhaustive journey and you are not alone. Miracles do happen!

I have successfully used Accupuncture in the past for sciatic pain so thought let me try this wonderful practice again. I was paired with Dr. Mary - who I just love. We have detailed sessions on my health, well being, sleep, changes in moods, body etc. After which I am treated to a 30 minutes acupuncture treatment. I am happy to report that after 4 sessions, I have more mobility and less pain in my shoulder and arm. I am pain free for several days and don't need to rely on NSAIDs. I am in a 12 weeks program - and am using this to heal several areas that need this treatment. If you are on the fence, don't be, accupuncture and this team (and facility) are just incredible.

There is no one I trust more than Denise to heal and support a healthy life.

They prepared me little packets of a mixture of all sorts of dried leaves and plants, some of which I'd never seen or heard of. They couldn't have been nicer in trying to explain to a then total novice like me the properties of all the plants and writing down the English names (when available?) for some of them. They wrapped up the packets - in little squares of paper with tape - so carefully that I felt like I'd come home with seven Christmas presents. They were very friendly and patient. An entire week-long supply of these herbs cost me less than $18. After seeing the progress I made, I was pretty much sold on this approach to treatment and have been back many times since. Also, here's a great tip for anyone with skin rashes: they carry a fantastic skin creme called Cao Ben Yi Jun Ru Gao, it comes in a yellow box and is a pink cream (this is helpful if you have to explain to them what it is you're looking for) which soothes and heals skin rashes that Western dermatologists can't fix. The dermatology department at SF General was stumped for years on how to help me and these people had me better a week after treatment. Highly recommended!

After much diagnosis at the hospital, the doctors thought I had golfers elbow. I wouldn't even be mad if I actually played golf. Alas, I just do office work, mainly on my laptop and phone. They think it's repetitive stress. I also think it was inflammation because the affected area was very hot to the touch. Not much I can do except rest and don't use my arm too much. Yet I was in excruciating pain. Good thing I can work from home on some days, so I can lie down intermittently. On the days that I was at the office, I was using one arm and walking a bit lopsided due to the pain. Also I couldn't sit for too long, so I was getting up and changing my positions a lot. I started scheduling all types of appointments. Mainly massages and acupuncture hoping they will help. I already have an acupuncturist I'm seeing for other things, but her appointment hours are hard to schedule last minute, so after seeing all the great reviews on Yelp, I decided to try Johnson's. So glad I did! My first appointment I was in so much pain I could barely sign new patient paperwork let alone sit straight in their lovely waiting room, but each session after I was getting better. What I love about my sessions are that after my acupuncture treatments, they immediately do cupping on my back and affected arm. No massage services offered here, but I have since also gone to a few different TCM/deep tissue massage places for pain. Dr. Jun is very nice and knowledgeable. Staff are polite and efficient. The office is bright and clean. Located on Clement and 4th Avenue, parking may be difficult.

And he can do wonders with creating herbal formulas. He was able to see conditions that I didn't know I had (which I started showing symptoms months later) then fixed me up right away when it happened. He was able to tell what was going on with my mom and brother's health within minutes of meeting them without me or them having said a word. Most importantly, he has great ethics and doesn't overcharge for herbs like a lot of places do. A lot of TCM doctors like to add expensive herbs just to oversell their formula, but Hal will only use herbs that are best suited for your condition and will be a fraction of the cost of other formulas.
