Aaron Peterson has an Airbnb in Portage Lakes that we stayed at . We checked in October 25th…read morechecked out November 1st 2024. The first night we were there we went to take a shower in the middle of the shower the water went off for 1 minute . We brought this to Aaron's attention he said the same thing happened to him since he has the house in front . This was not resolved until Tuesday . Then we got up Saturday morning and noticed that the coffee maker was not working it said it needed cleaned so we cleaned it and then was able to use it . We had to clean it several times during our stay . After both these things happening Saturday morning we decided to leave . We asked Aaron if we can have a refund for the remainder of the days and would gladly pay just for Friday night . Aaron refused . We could not afford to go someplace else if we did not get a refund . When using the toaster the fire alarm went off because there were so many dirty crumbs left in the toaster and never cleaned . The stove was filthy . There was dirt and dust in the corners and the window sills . Floorboards were uneven and loose in the upper and lower floors . Aaron wanted us to take off the bedding which we did and there was no mattress cover and stains on the mattress . Airbnb ended up giving us back $150 . Aaron left me a review saying I left the place a mess and it was glitter all over . That is a total lie . I did get some flower arrangements to take to some graves and used his broom that he left in the garage to sweep up the excess glitter . The broom was old and needed replaced I did the best I could. There were noises at night thumping noises that was either the heating or pipes . I did not leave the place a mess and never have done that any place I've stayed at .
