Inside the City West campus of the University of South Australia, university bookshops are often a great place to find some bargains on otherwise costly stuff like stationary and this one actually has some art supplies because it is on the same campus as the School of Architecture. That means you can buy good sign sized cardboard of a variety of textures and qualities for fair prices.
There are plenty of academic books, classics, the local newspapers and quite a few magazines. You can pick up the odd soft toy, but unless you actually intend on buying it I'd remember to put it down before leaving the shop as they are items for sale even though they may seem like little security blankets dotted around the room.
The store is off the main part of North Terrace, but you will find it easy enough if you just walk in the main entrance off the street and the great thing is, if you get lost, it is located directly opposite the Security spot where you'd be sent as a lost child of the forest of learning metaphorically speaking of course.
Get yourself out and about in this part of the city if you haven't had much of a look around here lately - it has changed quite a lot. It is more fun than it has been in the past, that is for sure.
The most important thing to remember is that Unibooks is a not-for-profit organisation which means they do not mark the books up in any ridiculous way, so if you are ordering a book in, this is a great place to shop as well as if you simply want one off the commercial shelf... because it is not at a massive commercial price. read more
