As the sun set behind the Manhattan skyline, guests were treated to an evening that felt equal parts whiskey education, culinary experience, and celebration of American craftsmanship. The WhistlePig team put together an outstanding lineup of cocktails and rare whiskey pours, each thoughtfully paired with a multi-course dinner. Every course felt intentional, from the beautifully presented appetizers and seasonal produce to the perfectly cooked beef course and creative dessert finale. The food wasn't just an accompaniment to the whiskey it stood on its own. One of the highlights of the evening was host Max Miller of Tasting History. His storytelling added depth and context to each pour, connecting American history, whiskey culture, and the culinary experience in a way that kept the entire table engaged. Yes, the views are amazing, however the weather has to be just perfect. Especially if you plan to use the outdoor patio. Which, why wouldn't you? The space itself is not for large groups, wedding party size approximately 50. Plus the wait, bar & other service staff. The location is prime, if you plan to take a car, remember this is NYC & traffic is bad. You can probably walk faster than a cab or car service. Especially during the month of December. NYC gets more visitors in December than all year long. The venue has 2 bathrooms for women which is not good, however worked for this crowd. Think of this location as a once in a lifetime, only if you have the funds for this location. As guests we were thrilled to be invited to such a lavish wedding!

They were flexible with everything-- the time, the place, the ceremony. She has a huge packet of sample ceremonies, so we picked one and then swapped some more personal things in like our own vows and a reading we selected. During the ceremony, Judie spoke with such a joyful tone, I truly felt like she knew us and was so happy we were getting married. Liam is the photographer, and while he might seem a little shy at first, he is a BLAST to work with. I told him that we'd like nice, bright photos, and also expressed my concern regarding some ugly fence in the background. He really made everything work, and we had a great time during our one-hour photo shoot. We got 50 pictures back (less than a week later) and LOVE every single one of them. We met her and Liam in the Park, the ceremony was lovely and exactly what we wanted. It was SOOOOO COLD that day, we called it early on photos (we got two hours with the package we bought). I think we froze Judie to near death, as well as my mother-in-law, but we still got some very nice pictures. Prices were very reasonable as well, if you price two hours with a photographer in NYC, you will find that these two offer a great deal.

Absolute highest recommendation to reach out to the Idea Kitchen team - Adam (owner), Ana, and Will are fantastic ambassadors. You'd be shortchanging yourself and your productivity not to consider checking them out if you need a local workspace. A few details: I visited family in Larchmont for August 2021. I grew up there locally, but now live on the west coast. My wife and I stayed with my family for a month-long visit, and needed a way to be productive for our jobs during this time. We both have desk jobs that require many video and phone calls. After some online research and a recommendation from local residents, I chose to rent an office at the Idea Kitchen for our time in NY. It was an incredibly good decision. The Idea Kitchen team, facility, and office delivered 10 out of 10 on everything you could want in a co-working partner. The space itself is fantastic: ultra-clean, spacious, massive windows/ well-lit, high-ceilings, and modern. It felt like many co-working spaces and offices I've seen for tech start-ups on the west coast. The security app and auto-access was convenient and easy - I had 24/7 access with the plan I purchased, which was fantastic to be able to use the space for early and late calls as needed. The entire staff was incredibly responsive, professional, friendly, and just made everything easy. From answering my initial questions via phone & email prior to committing, to helping me manage my account, to helping me navigate anything I needed when I was in the office (printing access, temperature control, etc.), the team was fantastic. One evening at about 9pm I mistakenly locked my phone & computer in the office. I called the after-hours number and ultimately Adam (owner) personally solved the issue so that I could get my items right away. In addition, the other members/ customers all seemed quite kind and community-oriented, while also driven to get their work done, so it was an environment that was conducive to being productive, as well as being motivating. Overall, it was an incredibly pleasant and worthwhile experience to spend my work days & evenings at The Idea Kitchen. Our wedding was held at the Metropolitan Building in Long Island City and while the staff there is wonderful, there isn't a day of coordinator to help with all the details leading up to the day. As funny as it sounds, the reason I decided I was hiring a wedding planner was because I had a moment about halfway through planning where I thought to myself "who's going to cue the music and make sure we all know when to walk down the aisle?"While my husband was initially skeptical and it wasn't a cost we had budgeted for, he agreed. Enter Kate. She knows the Metropolitan Building like the back of her hand (seriously. I think our wedding was like her 106th here). About 6 weeks before our wedding, we did a walk through with Kate to select items, go over floor plans and just talk about the experience we want our guests to have. We walked out that day and my husband exhaled and said "this is literally the best money we've ever spent. No way we could do this without her". Kate & Jen did what we feel was so beyond partial planning. They contacted vendors, created floor plans and timelines for the day, helped us select antiques to be used to decorate the space, eased any nerves we had and yes, told us when it was time to walk down the aisle. Wedding planning involves so many details. We are eternally grateful for Kate & Jen's help throughout our engagement and on our wedding day.
