She offered us beverages and had a custom welcome sign with our names on it on the desk. The office is clean, spacious and very professional. We had an appointment with David and he was amazing, like to the point that I didn't want to leave. He was very friendly, thorough and explained very basic stuff to us. He gave us guidance on accounts I brought with me and suggestions for us to do as we start combining our finances and start a business. He was very transparent about fees, transferring accounts there and what his recommendations were. Aside from him being a fiduciary he genuinely cares about people preparing for their futures. The invitiation is clear -- don't bring your financial advisor; don't bring your lawyer; just you and a friend are welcome. Well, let's see here. They don't want me to have professional advice. Sucks to be stupid.

I was with Stare Farm for almost 30 years. This year, they raised rates on their umbrella policies…read moreby over 100%. No call or warning. We have never made a claim on this policy and had no or minor claims on our other policies. Tom's staff was as shocked as I was at this increase but they said there was nothing they could do. We switched to another insurance provider for all coverage and are paying about what we paid last year. We almost switched two years ago when we noticed our State Farm bill said we weren't paying the lowest rate on one of our policies and it said we should talk to our agent if we had questions. Tom's office said they have no information on why we weren't being offered the lowest rate and after a few calls told us there was nothing they could do to answer our questions. They seemed annoyed that we were concerned we weren't getting the lowest rate (according to their own billing statement). At the time we couldn't find a cheaper provider but when they jacked up their umbrella rates, they solved that problem for us. I was going to give a 2 star because of the company's lack of interest in keeping long term customers but it did feel like most of Tom's staff (not all) were fighting to keep us. Use them if they are giving you the best rate but from our experience you need to watch closely because rates swing drastically and they don't mind losing long term customers.
