The gym itself is nothing special to look at. It's kind of like a beat up, but comfortable, pair of shoes. The building its in is in need of a paint job, much of the free weights and machines are outdated, and the cardio room smells a bit moldy. The locker rooms are small and a bit musty. Still, it has a charm and appeal to me that I can't put my finger on. Kind of reminds me of the old-school hardcore gyms I used to train at in my past. I did notice they recently added some new machines to go along with the line of equipment already there. The upstairs room has a load of free weights, benches, racks, and other equipment. Another room on the ground floor features all the leg machines, squat racks, and raquetball courts. Another room has a good amount of cardio machines. Also has a room for classes, and an outdoor play area for the kids and day care. Mixed group of people of all fitness levels seem to work out here, and staff is pleasant. It just all seems to fit like an old glove.

The nutrition coaching that comes with some of the programs (2 that I've done!) has been invaluable in teaching me better ways to eat and how to practice portion control no matter where I am. At the end of my first 4 week program, I was down 10 lbs and 7 inches around my belly!! And have continued to lose weight and feel better each day since. Take it with a grain of salt when reading, As for me, I joined this location at the $10 a month deal a few years ago so I can train when visiting family in Ocala a few times a year. Have had no problems with membership fees, and the front desk staff always seems pleasant and says hello. Plus, being open 24/7 is a plus as I prefer to train later in the evening. Never seems too crowded the hours I train. Plenty of available parking in front. This gym is huge with a terrific amount of cardio and weight training equipment, machines, racks, dumbbells, etc. Multiple rooms to work out in. They even seemed to add more smith machines and other equipment the last time I was here a few months ago. Never have a problem getting a treadmill and there are plenty of flat screens with a game on or something to watch. I also didn't see many machines broken or out of order. Sure, there were a few here and there but that's normal in any gym this size, and usually are fixed when a scheduled maintenance person comes by. They also have fridges with cold drinks available by the front desk. The facility itself is bright and clean, and I found the men's locker room to also be well maintained. Sure, at times you'll encounter some slob who leaves a bit of a mess, but that happens in all gyms, but not on a regular basis here. I also have never seen homeless people hanging out here as some have noted. Again, take those reviews with a grain of salt. Perhaps some members have had a bad day at this gym but it's not really an accurate reflection of this location in my opinion. In my past life I was a personal trainer and gym manager so I know the ins and outs of this business. Personally, I have had solid workouts here with no problems. Looking forward to training here again during my next family visit.

I had been a committed member of this gym for just over a year. However, my recent experience has…read moreleft me disappointed and confused. When I went to train, I was unexpectedly informed that my membership had been canceled. The owner and Powerlifting coach mentioned it was "nothing personal" and that they wanted to avoid any drama with me and the other members. Despite this, I was the only one who faced such a punishment, which felt extremely one- sided and unfair. This situation has not only disrupted my training routine but has also left me questioning the gym's management and their commitment to treating all members equally. We agreed that I could return after a 3 month ban set to return on March 1st 2025 and when I did he let me train for one day before texting me at 4am the next day saying that he would "pass" on my membership. I hope the gym reconsiders how they handle such situations in the future, as no member should feel unfairly targeted. Based on this experience, I cannot recommend this gym unless changes are made in their membership policies and dispute resolution process.
