Undercliffe Cemetery is a mixture of new and old. Opened over a century ago, it has graves ranging from simple crosses to elaborate monuments, some of which are Grade listed. Some very important people have been interred here, including a Lord Mayor, wool barons and prominent businessmen.
As you walk around the cemetery examples of striking stonemasonry leap out at you. A mother and child monument, a Pharoah and an unexpected statue of a woman are just some of the gems hidden here.
There are benches to sit on and contemplate life and long distance views over Bradford to stare at whilst doing that. A spectacular yet serene place. read more
