It shows his many innovations from creating characters like Mickey, Donald, etc., his advancement of filmography becoming the winner of more Oscars than anyone in history (including the present) to the creation of Disneyland and his vision of Disney World. Today his entertainment empire is still with us and bigger than ever. Come here to learn the real story of his life. You will find it both interesting and enjoyable. We came here during the cherry blossom season and enjoyed how immersive the garden was, taking in all the beautiful plants and scenery. As we were enjoying the ambiance of the space, we decided to enjoy a drink and a small snack while we were there. We selected an iced green tea, hot hojicha, and some warabimochi. The iced green tea was just-sweet-enough and was a refreshing beverage to enjoy on this surprisingly sunny day in San Francisco. The hot hojich was well-brewed with a full-body flavor. Last, but not least, the warabimochi dusted in kinako (roasted soybean flour) provided a delicious sweet chewy bite. Of note they usually offer warabimochi dusted in matcha; however, on this date they sold out of it so we went with the kinako option, which was just as good! Sitting in the garden and enjoying these treats while taking in the beautiful plant life was such an enjoyable experience. I appreciated the beautiful wisteria tree that we had nearby our table. Of note, the squirrels here can be a bit aggressive, so make sure you fend them off (the staff try to help as much as they can too)! These street cars are the star of the attraction and definitely worth the ride. For $5.70 one can buy an all-day Muni pass which allows you to ride these cars along with all other transit EXCEPT the cable cars. These cars are a collection of preserved vehicles from the '30s to '50s. Each one was given from a city in the US. They were originally brought to San Francisco to substitute for the cable cars when the c.c. Went under major renovation back in the '80s. The street cars became a hit with locals and tourists and are now a part of historic transit systems in San Francisco. The museum is small but detailed. It is open limited hours and run by a team of volunteers. They are passionate about these street cars and it shows. They are very detailed oriented but expect a pause every 10 minutes when a street car goes rolling by. The museum is free with a suggested $5 donation. It will only take about 30 minutes to cover it but a great stop if a rail fan.

This is a well preserved California Mission, one of the 21 along the El Camino Real. Today it…read morestands as a reminder of a time in California history when Spain ruled the area. This mission held its first mass just one week before the signing of the Declaration of Independence. Today all that remains is the chapel, a couple of small rooms attached and a portion of the cemetery. The majority of the complex is long gone, buried beneath the city that built up around it. The chapel has been restored and could be used today. The alters, wooden pews and decor resemble what this church may have looked like in its prime over 200 years ago. Today it sits in the shadows of the Basillica. Admission is $10 for adults, $5 for kids and seniors. The site can be easily toured in under an hour. However, to get the full story one may want to spend some more time.

There are so many amazing exhibits here but let me tell you about my favorite one. It was an exhibit in a gallery dedicated to explaining and demonstrating how AI works and how it can be used. We were asked to make a drawing of anything, anything at all. I drew a house and a cat. Then we were asked to pick a musical style -rock, hip-hop, blues, kiddie songs, techno or whatever. That was all it took for the machine to take off into cyberspace. The AI gears whirred away and out came a song combining our drawings and chosen musical genre. Who knew a rocking rock song about houses and cats could be so great? They have six galleries with hands-on kid friendly exhibits covering math, illusions, technology, electricity, magnetism, biology, cell structure, light and color, sound, and social science. There are demonstrations scheduled throughout the day in these galleries, on topics including magic, lasers, biology, botany, and weather. So, if you've ever dreamed about seeing a cow's eyeball get dissected, well,,,, you're in luck because a cow's peeper gets dissected five times a day for your viewing pleasure. The Exploratorium was jam packed with kids having the time of their life exploring the wonders of our world. This big kid had a blast as well.

We had to leave the museum early and end our entire day due to a head injury that I went through while exiting the tunnel that leads into the 360 view. I didn't see any signs that warned of the possibility of injuring yourself if you're not a small child. I used my better judgement but unfortunately, it's dark in there and I stood up prematurely. With all my strength I stood up, head first straight into the hard ceiling above my head and suffered a mild concussion. But, it really is up to the customers discretion to be cautious and aware of your surroundings. I don't blame the museum. That being said, there should be signs everywhere. Someone could seriously get hurt. Luckily, I'm fine and definitely recommend this place!
