The room was bright and clean and had a somewhat newly refurbished bathroom. Tea facilities were what I would expect, there was a hairdryer at the vanity table, and a couple of chairs with a table to look out over the ocean. The bed was comfortable and the towels in the bathroom were also nice. My only 'complaints' would be that a lot of light came in in the morning, so I was woken up a few times by that, and the shower struggled to get warm. Breakfast in the morning was enjoyable, and check out was simple, with reception staff also being helpful despite the busy time I checked out at. I would like to stay again as it's a great location, not too expensive, and the rooms are clean and quiet.

WE found our room to be excellent recently renovated with excellent décor and fittings a nice clean on suite well stocked welcome tray and a wonderful sea view from the window. Our friends however had a dingy poorly decorated room with views of drain pipes at the rear of the hotel and gaffer tape across broken floor coverings in the bathroom. To make things worse for them they overheard the manager describing their room as the worst in the hotel. The breakfast was all right but the evening dinner was served plated (unusual in a 3 star hotel) and was of minuscule portions with a poor selection of vegetables these small portions were made worse by being served on enormous plates. Nice polite staff and wonderful to sit on the terrace looking out to sea. Located at the east end of the promenade a nice stroll from the pier good job there was a bus stop outside the hotel as it was quite a walk to the shops, the buses went to Hastings and Brighton handy for over 60's who can use bus passes but service stops at 7 pm.

There's a full programme of events throughout the season (generally June through September) with something to suit everyone. Whether you like rock bands or brass bands, opera or jazz there'll be something on. You can even go dancing on their R&R/Jive nights! Lazy weekend afternoons can be spent listening to the bands from the pit or, if you're a cheapskate, stand around the railings at the top and listen for free. No concert costs more than £10 though with most just a couple of pounds. There is a licensed bar available in the evenings. From the start, the venue coordinator was difficult to work with, failing to return calls/emails, forgetting details already discussed, and arriving late to meetings we'd driven two hours for. On our big day, he arrived late, causing our entire time schedule to pushed back. He never put out the food we discussed and paid for, played the wrong music as we walked down the aisle, refused to execute parts of the event that were discussed in detail prior to the wedding, and abruptly kicked guests out of the venue 30 minutes earlier than the hire stated. The photos turned out amazing, guests loved the ambiance, and the look was precisely what we envisioned. Sadly, this stunning space is being sabotaged by a manager that clearly belongs in another profession.

There are 18 holes and a great water feature, caves, and pirate ship decoration throughout the course. For £5 it was a bargain because it took over an hour to complete with our group. Glad we arrived early as it did get quite busy behind us. There were a few holes that were a bit run down, one in particular had no fake grass but others were brand new. I am thinking that they may be in the process of redoing them for summer. It didnt effect my terrible golf game one way or the other though. There was a cafe outside with ice cream and drinks, so I had a post golf Magnum and diet pepsi. There is an inside play area which would be great if you had kids for parties. Had a great day out and as it was cheap, will definitely be back.

I put off going to to the Curzon, as, if I'm being honest, it looks pretty grotty from the outside…read more But this turned out to be an unfair, surface only bias, as it's a cracking little cinema that took me back to my youth, visiting the ABC in Woking. The screens aren't the biggest, but the projection is clear and the sound impressive. Take a change for the corporate, multiplex and give this throwback to a simpler age a whirl.
