A great location for larger groups they do take reservations to eliminate any wait. We were pleasantly greeted and quickly seated. Our server was super friendly and took excellent care of our larger group. The menu offers plenty of comfort food prepared to order. I came to visit my SCC student daughter from 2 hours away. She was hungry and I was starving so I told her to pick somewhere close. We stopped at this gem. The service...wow!! Unbelievable! Uncle Ronnie's is easily one of the best family restaurants in the Burlington area. They've got great food and it's always a great place to be together. The menu, unfortunately, is very "meaty" but they do have some good size and they were able to make me a special vegan taco salad bowl. The bowl was much larger than I expected so I was very happy. It was about $10 but I think that's reasonable for the size of it. I was kind of surprised that no one was required to wear a mask. Not even the waitress. Nicole was hands down the worst server I've ever meet. I would never ever tolerate her horrible behavior. She constantly escalated the horrible situation and made excuses about not getting food. I was told due to there being a hair in my food that they would call the cops if I don't pay the bill. Okay... Finally she yelled from across the room to the owner that I refused to pay the bill. This is beyond comical as the issue was the foot long hair that was baked into my chicken. When the owner came over he was beyond accommodating to the situation. The hostess whom seated us was very monotone and a bit rude. She (the hostess) did come back and take our drink order. My stepson and I were in to have dinner and honestly, I haven't been here in awhile and now I kind of remember why. We started with an onion blossom, either the grease was too hot or old, because it was burnt. Then I ordered a Reuben and my Stepson ordered a Bacon cheeseburger. He enjoyed his and honestly the fries were hot although not crispy. My Reuben was grilled so crispy that it cut the roof of my mouth and I could only eat abour half of it. And finally, I myself have been in this business since the dinosaur roamed the earth and the thing a guest remembers is if the table was cleared and the food came in a timely manner. Uncle Ronnie's is a strange place for an out of town visitor. The outside looks like a large storage shed. However, once you are inside you will be greeted by the aroma of comfort food and a cozy space that is about 1/3 bar and 2/3 dining area. The burger was delicious and the service was attentive. It seemed like my aunt knew half of the people there. Portions are large and the prices are reasonable. It's not what I would consider a steakhouse, but they do serve steaks. Had dinner here last night. Outside it doesn't look like much but once inside it is warm cozy and friendly. The staff was very accommodating seating us according to our preference. Our waitress was super. We had drinks and dinner. My husband and I split a 12 oz filet. We ordered it medium rare. It was a little more on the rare side but was extremely tender and very tasty. I had a loaded baked potato And my husband had loaded mashed potatoes. The only thing different about these potatoes than what we are used to was the addition of chopped tomatoes. It was very good. Ok so first off, I use to work here years ago. Back when a hamburger and fries cost $7.25. The prices now are right along with what's going on with economy. So let's break this down for the last 3 visits we've had. Back in November 2016, waitress very rude to my wife. My wife ordered a mixed drink and boy was it STRONG. I couldn't even enjoy it. So we told the waitress and she went to the bartender and they started cracking jokes about us because the drink was too strong. Then the food was amazing like normal. End of visit. We came back in December 2016, once again a different waitress just as rude as the last one. So we sat at the bar instead. Well wouldn't you know it. It was the same bartender that makes drinks strong. She remembered us and started being snotty right away. We ignored it till it became time to order a cocktail. Bam once again over pour and kills a drink. Ugh!! And once again we let her know and she runs off in back talking shit. So we said we will never go back. Well we did and with this one just happing tonight WE will NEVER go back and I will NEVER recommend this place to anyone ever again! The place wasn't busy at all I'd say about 25-30 guest. Around 7pm was when we went. Sat right away, 15 minutes later we got a waitress. She asked how things were. So we told her that we wasn't happy wed been sitting for 15mins waiting to get a waitress. "Sorry I was at cash register" for 15 mins??? Get real. So we say fuck it and still order.. wife and daughter got taco special which they changed the way they cook them and the cheese they use. Then the serving of beans and rice I'd say about a .50 piece big. Not the uncle ronnies I use to work for that's sure. Tacos didn't even come out with salsa or sourcream. Had to ask for it. My grouper ruben didn't come with tarter sauce. Which wasn't a big deal but still the point. You didn't do your job as a waitress. The food was horrible the service sucked. One side is a dark restaurant with no cohesive feel the other a wannabe sports bar with the free beer stuff on the walls and strangely place TV's. Our waitress was the highlight of the evening she took the time to explain what was popular from the menu and was very honest. Teresa had the usual French Dip and said it was very good. For her side she choose the sweet potato fries they were over cooked and not very tasty. They were served with an interesting sauce which we were told consisted of powdered sugar and maple syrup. It was good but could only have a small amount of it. The waitress told me that the Grouper Ruben was very popular so I said what the heck let's give it a try. It was deep fried Grouper served with coleslaw and thousand island dressing served on rye bread. I'll have to admit it was pretty good. The rye bread a little strong for my taste. The coleslaw was good as well. I thought it was strange that the owner was there and spent the whole time we were there sitting at the bar. He got up once and went and bused a table. My wife and I dined at Uncle Ronnie's for the first time two weeks ago, we were not disappointed. The Restaurant was basic with a bar on one side of the building and a dining area on the other side divided by a row of booths. there was nothing memorable about the décor but the food made up for the Spartan atmosphere. The food was above average with the prices being very reasonable. My wife had the Filet Mignon and I had the Smothered Chicken, both were very good, both were tender and cooked perfectly.
