I came to visit my SCC student daughter from 2 hours away. She was hungry and I was starving so I told her to pick somewhere close. We stopped at this gem. The service...wow!! Unbelievable! The food, incredible! Where can you get a grouper reuben??? HERE!! AND IT IS AMAZING! We had cheese curds for an appetizer, I had the grouper Reuben and my daughter had a breaded tenderloin. DELICIOUS!!! I again cannot stress how nice they are here!! read more

Uncle Ronnie's offer plenty of parking for easy access. An unassuming exterior leads to plenty of dining and bar seating. A great location for larger groups they do take reservations to eliminate any wait. We were pleasantly greeted and quickly seated. Our server was super friendly and took excellent care of our larger group. The menu offers plenty of comfort food prepared to order. There was a little delay on food prep as kitchen was short staffed but this did not prevent us from having a really nice evening. Recommend Uncle Ronnie's for and after work stop any time! read more

Uncle Ronnie's is easily one of the best family restaurants in the Burlington area. They've got great food and it's always a great place to be together. The menu, unfortunately, is very "meaty" but they do have some good size and they were able to make me a special vegan taco salad bowl. The bowl was much larger than I expected so I was very happy. It was about $10 but I think that's reasonable for the size of it. I was kind of surprised that no one was required to wear a mask. Not even the waitress. That didn't bother me much but I can definitely see how it might be a problem for others. Just something you guys may want to keep in mind. Overall though, it was great! read more

Nicole was hands down the worst server I've ever meet. I would never ever tolerate her horrible behavior. She constantly escalated the horrible situation and made excuses about not getting food. I was told due to there being a hair in my food that they would call the cops if I don't pay the bill. Okay... Finally she yelled from across the room to the owner that I refused to pay the bill. This is beyond comical as the issue was the foot long hair that was baked into my chicken. When the owner came over he was beyond accommodating to the situation. The waitress still continued to argue and lie... all while stirring the pot and escalating the situation beyond the point that felt like she was bullying me. She gaslit me that the chicken was coming. We waited for another 15 min to only get up and leave after paying for food I didn't eat. The chicken was so tough and dried out Green beans were clearly not from today.. mashed potatoes were dry and unappealing. Absolutely embarrassing so much so I won't ever be back. I drove 4hrs to have dinner with my family and this is how I was treated? I couldn't and won't ever come back. read more

My boyfriend lived in Burlington for a couple of years and he told me repeatedly how we need to go to Uncle Ronnies restaurant while we were on our weekend adventure...so we went there for lunch. Uncle Ronnies is a great family restaurant and it even has a bar inside as well. The food was good. I ordered the Club sandwich and my boyfriend ordered the ribeye steak sandwich. Neither of us were disappointed with our meal. A nice restaurant to check out. read more

Do NOT judge a book by its cover.. This establishment is friendly, decadent, and DELICIOUS. I'd like to specifically thank our server, Christine who was friendly and timely. The food speaks for itself folk. I would recommend the jalapeño burger as it was as fresh as could be. If you're deciding what to do for an appetizer make sure to order the chicken stingers! 10/10 would recommend to everyone. read more

Excellent menu and service. Had a party of eight. Well accommodated. Food was very good.

This is the go to if you want consistently good food, good service and a lot of choices. Prices are fair.

I travel all around the country and Canada. I just had the BEST fish sandwich EVER HERE. read more

So we decided to stop in because their sign said new menu. I ordered the Nachos and they came out cold! Meat was cold and so was cheese sauce! Meal was so cold that the shredded cheese wouldn't even melt! read more

Greasy food, good service and tasteless food. Flavor helps! Could be a good place for people with no sense of good food.

My family loves Uncles Ronnies! We always make sure to stop in each time we are in town. Friendly staff and I love the breaded tenderloin sandwich and fried mushrooms. read more

Wait staff slow and untrained. Did not check back for drinks even though we waited over an hour for our food. Did not clear away salad plates when she finally came to table. Had to hunt her down to ask for a beer then waited another 15 min and she did not offer to refill any one else's drink when she dropped it off. French dip was a small amount of meat on a hoagie bun. Meat was thick and hard to chew. Ruben sandwich meat was dried out and there was more bread then meat. Cheeseburgers were dry and served without cheese! Total time in this place was almost 2 hours for crappy service and mediocre food! read more

Well I try to always find some bright spot, but this one is tough. I have eaten at Uncle Ronniea a few times. Their food is good, but.... This last time there may have pushed it over the edge. The hostess whom seated us was very monotone and a bit rude. She (the hostess) did come back and take our drink order. The restaurant was pretty quiet overall. 6 tables of about 4 each and a few at the bar. Once we got our drinks... we waited...and waited. We did figure out based on some event tags on our phones that we waited for 25 minutes. Sorry... it was enough at that point to forego the meal. I have noticed historically that service speed here has declined dramatically over that past 5 years I have been in the area. So sad, for the food has been good. read more

I was looking at their sad beer selection and made the mistake of asking the waitress who brewed a particular beer on the list. Baffled and nonplussed, she then shouted my question to the owner, who was several tables away, naturally drawing attention to our table from everyone else. The owner then made it very clear that, not only did he not know, but he didn't give a damn to know. It's unprofessional to embarrass a customer. The food was okay, but don't order a mixed drink unless you want something really watery. read more

Not sure what has happened to Uncle Ronnie, but he must not be around anymore. We haven't been to Burlington lately and decided to stay and have dinner. Major disappointment ..Restrooms were filthy. Food was not great. Everything that was cooked was over-cooked. The onions and peppers that should have been cooked, were not. Service was not the greatest. Never asked us for additional drinks. Only thing that was good was the cold beer. So unless you're drinking beer and not eating, I'm afraid you're going to be outta luck. read more

I travel for work regularly so eating out is common place for me. My boss and I heard nothing but good things about the food. The staff was extremely friendly. The environment was nice. The food, however, tasted like someone dumped a half shaker of salt on my chicken cheese steak and oddly enough there was no salt on my fries. My boss experienced the exact same thing. We might try this place again just to see if the kitchen was off that day. read more

I don't think I'll ever eat here again. The food was so over priced and so disgusting. My cheeseburger was burnt and dry. The loaded mashed potatoes I ordered made me sick just smelling them. They put cheese on them that tasted and looked like the cheese that comes on nachos at a football game. My friend didn't even get all of her food, they brought it out on another plate after we had been eating for a little while. Our waitress never checked on us after that. When we were done we waited maybe 10 minutes for another woman to ask if everything was done. She gave us our checks and we when we got up to pay, all the staff was just sitting in the corner at a table. read more

My stepson and I were in to have dinner and honestly, I haven't been here in awhile and now I kind of remember why. We started with an onion blossom, either the grease was too hot or old, because it was burnt. Then I ordered a Reuben and my Stepson ordered a Bacon cheeseburger. He enjoyed his and honestly the fries were hot although not crispy. My Reuben was grilled so crispy that it cut the roof of my mouth and I could only eat abour half of it. And finally, I myself have been in this business since the dinosaur roamed the earth and the thing a guest remembers is if the table was cleared and the food came in a timely manner. Our food too about 40 minutes to get to us and had the hostess not came by our table the plates would still be here. Won't be back. Shame because every seat in this place is worth $1500 a year! read more

The best prime rib in town. Very clean and nice bathrooms with a friendly staff. Good salads also.

I'd leave zero stars if I could. Worst restaurant experience of my life last night. Horrible horrible waitress!! Your waitress Amanda needs some serious training. This woman had an attitude the second she FINALLY came to our table to wait on us. Took our order rudely, watched her throw our menus down when she took them back to the counter....and then disappeared. She never once came and checked on us, apologized for our long wait for food, got refills....NOTHING!! My husband got all you can eat chicken, and the only reason he got any more than what he was originally served, was because he stopped another woman and asked for more. The tip of the iceberg is when we were finally walking out, before she even knew what was left on the table from us, had the nerve to say "don't come back if you're not going to tip" I don't know if she thought I wouldn't hear her, but I sure did, and when I confronted her about it, she denied it!! Own up to your shit Amanda!! If you want a good tip, maybe you should be a good waitress!! I usually tip very well, and she's lucky she got what we DID leave her because she actually deserved nothing. I can understand the wait for the food, shit happens in a kitchen....but the shitty service is what blew my mind!! Do better Amanda or find a new job, because waitressing isn't the one for you. read more

Uncle Ronnie's is a strange place for an out of town visitor. The outside looks like a large storage shed. However, once you are inside you will be greeted by the aroma of comfort food and a cozy space that is about 1/3 bar and 2/3 dining area. The burger was delicious and the service was attentive. It seemed like my aunt knew half of the people there. Portions are large and the prices are reasonable. It's not what I would consider a steakhouse, but they do serve steaks. I have been here twice on my visits to West Burlington and never disappointed. read more

This place does have great food. Good help is hard to find! But the food industry can be crazy when u don't have the staff. I eat at Ronnies a lot and I've never had a bad meal. My favorites are the French dip, the taco pizza and the wraps.

Had dinner here last night. Outside it doesn't look like much but once inside it is warm cozy and friendly. The staff was very accommodating seating us according to our preference. Our waitress was super. We had drinks and dinner. My husband and I split a 12 oz filet. We ordered it medium rare. It was a little more on the rare side but was extremely tender and very tasty. I had a loaded baked potato And my husband had loaded mashed potatoes. The only thing different about these potatoes than what we are used to was the addition of chopped tomatoes. It was very good. All in all a great meSl and super service. read more

So incredibly delish and tasty. I've never eaten at Uncle Ronnie's and I was VERY impressed by my meal. The steak I had was soooo dang succulent it literally melted in my mouth like butter! Ok so first off, I use to work here years ago. Back when a hamburger and fries cost $7.25. The prices now are right along with what's going on with economy. So let's break this down for the last 3 visits we've had. Back in November 2016, waitress very rude to my wife. My wife ordered a mixed drink and boy was it STRONG. I couldn't even enjoy it. So we told the waitress and she went to the bartender and they started cracking jokes about us because the drink was too strong. Then the food was amazing like normal. End of visit. We came back in December 2016, once again a different waitress just as rude as the last one. So we sat at the bar instead. Well wouldn't you know it. It was the same bartender that makes drinks strong. She remembered us and started being snotty right away. We ignored it till it became time to order a cocktail. Bam once again over pour and kills a drink. Ugh!! And once again we let her know and she runs off in back talking shit. So we said we will never go back. Well we did and with this one just happing tonight WE will NEVER go back and I will NEVER recommend this place to anyone ever again! The place wasn't busy at all I'd say about 25-30 guest. Around 7pm was when we went. Sat right away, 15 minutes later we got a waitress. She asked how things were. So we told her that we wasn't happy wed been sitting for 15mins waiting to get a waitress. "Sorry I was at cash register" for 15 mins??? Get real. So we say fuck it and still order.. wife and daughter got taco special which they changed the way they cook them and the cheese they use. Then the serving of beans and rice I'd say about a .50 piece big. Not the uncle ronnies I use to work for that's sure. Tacos didn't even come out with salsa or sourcream. Had to ask for it. My grouper ruben didn't come with tarter sauce. Which wasn't a big deal but still the point. You didn't do your job as a waitress. The food was horrible the service sucked. So for these reasons ronnie I will no longer support or promote you any longer. You've pushed another customer away and after spending 80$+ tonight I wasn't happy read more

Uncle Ronnie's West Burlington Iowa I wanted to try Uncle Ronnie's for some time. So Saturday night was my first trip the place really has a split personality. One side is a dark restaurant with no cohesive feel the other a wannabe sports bar with the free beer stuff on the walls and strangely place TV's. Our waitress was the highlight of the evening she took the time to explain what was popular from the menu and was very honest. Teresa had the usual French Dip and said it was very good. For her side she choose the sweet potato fries they were over cooked and not very tasty. They were served with an interesting sauce which we were told consisted of powdered sugar and maple syrup. It was good but could only have a small amount of it. The waitress told me that the Grouper Ruben was very popular so I said what the heck let's give it a try. It was deep fried Grouper served with coleslaw and thousand island dressing served on rye bread. I'll have to admit it was pretty good. The rye bread a little strong for my taste. The coleslaw was good as well. I thought it was strange that the owner was there and spent the whole time we were there sitting at the bar. He got up once and went and bused a table. Perhaps that is not always the case but while I was there I thought he was missing out on an opportunity to do something. My wife and I dined at Uncle Ronnie's for the first time two weeks ago, we were not disappointed. The Restaurant was basic with a bar on one side of the building and a dining area on the other side divided by a row of booths. there was nothing memorable about the décor but the food made up for the Spartan atmosphere. The food was above average with the prices being very reasonable. My wife had the Filet Mignon and I had the Smothered Chicken, both were very good, both were tender and cooked perfectly. Our waitress was attentive and personable, she made our visit a fun dining experience. We'll definitely return. read more

Okay. I've been going to W. Burlington for 10 years now on business and I am ALWAYS striking out on food - it's W. Burlington. So, a couple months ago, my client suggests Uncle Ronnies, DAHECK? We aren't from Burlington and were looking for something delicious and different to celebrate a couple of special events for the day. I found Uncle Ronnie's and thought it might be special. As we pulled up I wondered if it would be a good special or a bad special, as the exterior looks more like an industrial shop or something than a restaurant. We went in and were met with the nicest friendliest staff, a great bar, and the Fillet, OH MY GOODNESS!!! The flavor was absolutely amazing, one of the most delicious steaks to ever cross my lips. My wife said we will be back to visit again and we live 2 hours away! Did I mention that the staff is the friendliest you will ever meet? read more
