They have no integrity. We went in there to buy a chest of drawers and nightstand for my son. The only Chest they had was the floor model, which we explicitly stated we did not want and wanted a new one. Aside from sitting on the floor for however long, it had a sharp barb inside the handle. We were told "no problem" and were offered the nightstand in the box. I kindly said I would get them at the same time. Return a couple days later to pick up and the chest isn't there and the manager, Stacey, went to the floor to, presumably, get the floor model. Before I could state we were expecting new, he informs me it has a hole in it and the salesman forgot to order the new one. I reiterated that was fine, because I wanted a new one. Get a call the following week that it was in, so I went by to pick them up on a Friday evening, where they have the nightstand in the box and a shrink wrapped chest behind it. They loaded them up, and off I went. Carry it upstairs and find it's missing a foot pad which made it wobbly, then opened the drawer to find a REPAIR TICKET to repair a hole...... I immediately called and got someone in shipping that said it would be taken care of and replaced with new. Following Monday, spoke with Stacey and wanted the new one I requested or I'll return it. He stated he would check on a new one, then the next day said they wouldn't have any for months. Well, I stated I wanted to return it, or if they wanted to offer a discount, I would consider it. Next call, "the owner won't discount". At this point, I stated fine, then I want to return it and I need them to come pick it up. No word, so I call back and was told they were refusing my return........... I dropped them off immediately and contacted my bank to dispute all the charges. In conclusion, they will try and scam you, but do such a terrible job at it they get caught, then still try and make you keep the item. read more

I am sad to say that I will never shop here again, which is really too bad, because I liked their broad selection, and the sales staff is friendly and helpful, it's the service after the sale that was terrible. We bought a bedroom suite from them, and they delivered it on time, and the guys who delivered it were really professional. The vanity chest came with a mirror which was damaged, so I sent it back...then the problems started. We wanted the mirror replaced ASAP, but they made it clear that they didn't know when they could deliver it, so my husband scheduled to pick it up. I was supposed to pick it up on a Wednesday, but I had a dental emergency and ended up at the dentist instead. I called them to set a new date and by chance got the owners son on the phone. He told me he didn't know anything about it, and that he would call me back later. I told him I wasn't going to wait around for a call (because they don't call back when they say they will), and he started yelling at me. Before the owners son hung up on me, he promised to call me back the next day, and of course he didn't. The next day I showed up at the store and asked for the mirror, which they had on hand, but they had wrapped it up in so much shrink and bubble wrap I could not inspect its condition. They basically told me that they had inspected it for me prior to wrapping it, and I should accept it. I asked them to unwrap it so I could look at it, and they did. It was in good condition, so I asked them to rewrap it and put it in the car, and they said they had no additional wrap. Then the store manager told me I would have to return tomorrow to pick it up. I told him that it was impossible because I have to work. He then said I should just pick it up next week. Needless to say I was unhappy with the notion of picking it up in a week (we're about 3 weeks in now), and asked to speak with someone higher, I was told that if I had already spoken to the owners son, there was no way the owner would care to speak to me. I then told them to bring me the mirror tomorrow, or I would pursue the matter in court, which I feel is a bit much, but where do you go next when you are told that the owner does not care? That pretty much leaves you in small claims court... Anyway, they are supposed to bring the mirror over tomorrow before 11. We will see if they actually do. read more

Very disappointing experience with customer service. We are now dealing with the second piece of faulty furniture. This one has a rip at the seam. In what could be 4 to 6 weeks a piece of material is supposed to be sent by the manufacturer and a technician will come out and replace some fabric on a rocking loveseat. In the meantime it just gets worse and worse. Good luck talking to anyone in upper management. I was told it has been their policy for 40 years not to release the name of the general manager or corporate personnel. As if in a pre-recorded message they repeat the company mantra that they do not warranty their furniture. The accidental protection plan that you pay extra to purchase is an outside service and has nothing to do with them after you take home the piece. How awesome it would be if their sales people talked about it that way! read more

Nobody is perfect and after spending $900 on a mattress I was disappointed to have it be defective and need replaced in less than 6 months. I was even more disappointed in the runaround I seemed to get from the stores warranty department but I believe every merchant needs an opportunity to correct it's mistake so I stopped at the corporate office and talked to the regional manager about my problem. He not only corrected the issue, he exceeded in every way imaginable my expectations allowing me to buy up to a better mattress for a reasonable difference. Now you may not like the name of "Unclaimed" or the fact that the store does not air condition all it's warehouse but I will gladly deal with all that when they treat their customers like they did me! I bought a computer desk from them about 11 years ago. One of the hinges on the keyboard door broke. The guys at Unclaimed Freight were able to get me 2 replacement hinges. I appreciate their help and cooperation with my problem. They could have very easily said "we can't help you", but, instead, they were able to. I highly recommend stopping by here if you're in the market for new furniture. They have a pretty decent selection and prices are fair. Customer service is what set this place apart though. The assistant manager, Jonathan was incredibly helpful and surpassed my expectations. I have driven by this place for years and my wife said lets go in and check the place out. We walked in and Stacy said hello, was friendly. He left us to look around, the place is huge. We had gone in to looks at mattress for my son. We could not believe how great the mattress were for the price compared to mattress stores. For the price of a mattress set at a local mattress store in Mansfield we got an entire bedroom set and mattress set. The best part it was in stock and we took it home the same day. I absolutely LOVE this place- it's basically the Ross or Marshall's of furniture. Like it has BRAND NEW furniture that didn't sell fast enough or was overstocked at nicer stores like Rooms To Go or Ashley's. They even deliver. The only problem is if you need to furnish a whole room- it can be difficult to find all the matching pieces. But it's PERFECT if you just need ONE item, or if you don't care if your furniture matches. I've bought everything but my couch here, on a few different visits over a couple years. And they DO have great couches, I just happened to find one that I liked better at another store, and it happened to be on clearance. And their employees are NICE, but they do not stay right next to you and constantly harass you like in nicer furniture stores, so it's whatever if you don't buy stuff. I guess they DON'T work on commission, which really takes the pressure off of the employee AND customer. I frequently recommend it to anyone needing furniture but not wanting to spend a lot. And about the warranties- I dunno, I never got one. I just assumed it was a clearance, "as is" store. For me, the low prices are definitely worth it, and I've had my bed frame, dresser and lingerie chest for about 13 years now and none of them have ever had any problems. read more

Unclaimed Freight Store, Arlington, TX - Return Policy: 'Sorry your purchase didn't work out but we're not giving you your money back. But you can pick something else from our store for the exact same amount.' I was hoping to find some comfortable, light-color recliners for my small dark paneled den to replace my broken recliner. I bought what I thought was the perfect size and color for $549.00 ea. (Haverty's had something similar for $499.00, but it was push type, no handle.) The recliner leaflet stated that it had gel-infused memory foam for "cooler seating"; It was anything but cool. I couldn't stand the heat so I called to return them two days after they were delivered. I offered to pay the 20% restock fee just to get rid of them. But I was forced to replace them with two dark brown recliners that were a bit larger and not as comfortable as I was hoping to find. They were the only ones they had that would fit in my limited space. I even added a side table, which I didn't need, so that I could try to match the original purchase price. But they will not refund or give me credit for the balance. According to their policy, I have to buy something else that I don't want or need. They claim to be a discount store, but their price for the Ashley recliner I was forced to buy was $419.95. I could have gotten the same recliner at Ashley Furniture Store for $349.99 (I've copied their ad). The purchase ended up costing me even more because I had to pay another $99.00 for a second delivery. The salesman didn't inform me of their no return policy. I only noticed a sign when I sat down at the office and we were filling out the papers. Before then, I wasn't aware that any store could have such a policy (I moved to Arlington recently). I didn't realize the implications then, especially when the $549 recliners looked so perfect. He told me that they could not give me credit for the balance because they can't renegotiate the contract with Wells Fargo and they also will not refund the balance. I don't see how submitting the balance as a payment would be renegotiating anything. I don't have room for any more stuff in my house. In fact, I need to get rid of some things. I just wanted to replace my broken chair with something nice. When I told the salesman that they don't have anything that I want or need in their store, he said, "Ok, but you still have credit." Because of their policy, I'm now stuck with recliners that I had to settle for instead of finding something I liked and could live with for years with satisfaction; and they are keeping my money. I know that I'm in this situation because of my ignorance of this type of store's existence, but I believe that their policy is unfair. I suggest that you shop elsewhere instead of gambling with a purchase at Unclaimed Freight. read more
