Bit of backstory - I never had Chase Bank before moving here to Washington. I have had the same…read moresmall chain bank back in Michigan that I have had the last 30 years (my entire life) and the same credit union I had been a member of for 10 years. I was SUPER nervous about signing up for a big-name bank like Chase, but because my bank and credit union didn't have branches here, I also didn't want to pay mega service charges every time I needed cash. I signed up online and I'll be honest - Things did NOT start well. I got to Washington and immediately needed to deposit a check but when I came into this branch, they had no record of my account (although I had already deposited $200.00 online so I'd have a bit waiting for me). Turns out it was my own darn fault - I was supposed to bring my drivers licence into a local branch within a week of signing up and when I didn't, they put my account on "hold". Thankfully, the ladies here were ABSOLUTELY wonderful and came up with solutions for me to be able to quickly deposit my check, pay my rent right away, and get me set up properly. I have nothing but good things to say about them - I've run into a few issues since then but I always go into this branch and they take care of me.

She's advised she couldn't so i told her then deposit the check and I'll just close the account down to get my all my cash right away. Javon, the assistant manager I'm guessing , immediately pulled me over to the next window. He told me they wanted to keep my business but there had to be a hold. I again told him I just moved back home from another state and needed all the cash to pay bills right away and I was willing to shut down my account if I couldn't get it today. So he told me I could deposit the check and get 200 today, get direct deposit to avoid this in ghe future, or walk to bank of America and cash is for $6. I let him know I have been a chase customer for 2 years now with no problems and I know that I can get my full check cashed as I've done it before. He let me know that yes that was a possibility but he doesn't know me and has to protect his job. So I asked to speak to a manager. Which must have hit a nerve because he escalated from there. He said he gave me 3 options already, and repeated them like he was doing me a favor giving me options that didn't get me what I needed without sending me to another bank waisting more of my time, spending more of my money. I then asked for my check back and walked to BofA. I will be shutting down my chase account as soon as I get the chance. I work in customer service and this was some of the most horrible service I've ever got at my bank.

NO CASH ALLOWED! The bank is staffed with very polite tellers saddled with one of the most…read moreincredible rules I have ever seen. You may not deposit cash into anyone else's account. You cannot make a cash deposit for a friend. You will instead be invited to go to the store and buy a money order to deposit. It does not matter that you do not want any balance info, you just can't put money in. In fact, having run afoul of this policy on Monday, another friend who banls with Chase offered to make the deposit rather than me writing a check to deposit which they could hold a couple days. They had her get a money order (FROM CHASE AT THE COUNTER) and then deposit that into the account. When she asked why, they cited "money laundering". Apparently it doesn't count for money orders??? Someone needs to tell the dealers and terrorists to buy money orders and then deposit those for CHASE cleaned money.

I waited by the bankers desks, and the one woman available never asked me if I needed assistance or any acknowledgement of being present. She did have time to look over at me with annoyance in her eyes. Other staff including the manager saw I was just standing there, as their seats are not near the bankers. This particular banker I am referring to was speaking with someone, but I could overhear them discussing looking at her Facebook page so the "customer" could see pictures of "the wedding." I assumed the other woman may be co-worker shooting the SSSSSSSS with her? They spoke for several minutes about the wedding and the other woman would keep passing her phone over to the banker to see!!!! I only wanted to know if they had notary services at that time, so otherwise I could go elsewhere. I finally ask this woman, "May I ask you a question?" She looks at me with daggers and snaps, "I am with a customer, you will need to wait." She then walks over to whom I assume is the manager. He comes over and asks about my request. I say I only wanted to be acknowledged, and if she was busy, she could of said she would be with me shortly, maybe even approximate a wait time. I basically had to tell him this woman needs to have proper manners for customer service work, and that she would probably appreciate the same courtesy back in return. He walks back to her then back to me and says, Amber said it will be a 45 minute wait. I ask, "Is it 45 minutes because I am issuing a complaint about her?" He looked at me and said he could not "speak on that." Worse part, the banks was not very busy both times, and Amber had that same bothered look when she did not offer to help me during a previous visit.
