They ran multiple tests, beyond what I had figured they would, trying to find answers for me. They listened to my concerns and actually addressed them instead of dismissing like most Drs/nurses would. They went above and beyond to make me feel safe and heard. Would 10/10 recommend coming here for anything. I will let everyone I know this is the place to go in Lubbock. You get the small town, personal care, with big city medical knowledge.

I went to that hospital and paid my co-pay, just to be told by the doctor "you meet all the requirements for strep" and was sent on my way with antibiotics. The doctor didn't even run simple test like flu or strep. He checked my breathing with his stethoscope, that's it. I then received a $400 bill from my insurance. I will be disputing this. The next day, I was worse and could barely breathe. Since I was worse I had to visit the emergency room, again. I chose to visit Exceptional Community Hospital Lubbock. I highly recommend going to Exceptional. At ECHL, they tested me and I was negative for strep and flu. I ended up having a cat scan was advised I had an Peritonsillar Cellulitis. I was given morphine, antibiotics, and a steroid with advice to follow-up with an ENT. I'm still in treatment, having to see Allergist, ENT, PCP and a GI Specialist. Dr. Roger's and his staff were so friendly, patient and informative. I felt like they really cared. I had a $200 co-pay, which was steep for the unexpected burden on my vacation. I was able to set up a payment arrangement by paying something towards it and waiting for the bill. This relieved additional stress. I honestly feel that this hospital saved my life. Thank you Dr. Roger's and staff!!!!!! Notable: Fast service, caring, knowledgeable, and clean atmosphere.

My insurance company was charged over $5,500. Now my son has an additional bill for $934!! Total: $7,500! What the actual hell is going on? We tried to call their billing line and were told they can charge whatever they want since they are private. And they aren't willing to bring down the cost. When asked how much this would've cost if we had no insurance, they told us $400 total. But since I have insurance they'll try to gig my son for $1,800 in addition to the $5,500 paid by my insurer. I'm thinking about legal council and open to suggestions. I'm certainly filing separate complaints with the Texas Medical Board in the next 5 days on: 1) Neighbors Emergency Center 2) Lubbock Texas Emergency Center 3) Altus Exceptional Physician Group, and 4) Dr. John Lang. If you have any other suggestions on who I can file a complaint with, I'd love your input because they don't make it easy to tell who is a governing body about unethical situations like this. These people are dishonest. NOTE: I'm not sure if these excessive charges are fraudulent tor not. I may try to work with my insurance company to find out if any of them are. I attached both bills where there are two identically named charges and the same Description code. Who knows? I believe there are maximums to what a facility can charge for what was minimal medical care. This is Unbelievable. Save yourself the hassle and go elsewhere.

I had my baby around 3:00 in the morning and a lady from billing came in around 7:00 AM demanding a payment or we would have to pay a huge price (we were cash pay and didn't have insurance) i was still drugged and loopy from the medication they gave me for my C-section and I told her that . I told her we would pay them but to come at a later time when I'm in a state where I can fully understand what's going on or she can wait for my husband to gets back from and she said "no I don't have time to wait and need to collect now or you will be paying a huge fee " I told her she can wait if she needs the money that bad... my husband eventually came back from talking to family in the lobby and handled the situation, I asked if we could make payments and she said yes but we no longer got a discounted price and we were going to have to pay triple to quadruple the discounted price that's a huge jump and I'm not shocked she couldn't tell me that price upfront. (How are you going to demand $ but not know all the details????) Demanding money like that was very distasteful especially considering my mental state not being in a good state due to the medication... the lady was extremely rude about me asking to wait for my husband. Wish I could give a bigger rating for my nurses and Dr but the billing department made that experience terrible
