I was very impressed with the service. My pet peeve is dirty dishes sitting in front of people and that did not happen! The wedding cake was delicious. White homemade cake with a light strawberry cream. My only suggestion would be to have had someone to serve all the pies. It was kind of awkward having to do it yourself. I definitely recommend Emily's for your next event.

They were helpful, responsive, and everything was clear and upfront. There were no surprise charges, or "gotchas". In fact they did several things beyond the scope of the contract without additional charges. More importantly, on the wedding day everything went perfectly. They gave us great advice on the set up of the tables, chairs, bar etc. They listened carefully to everything that was asked of them, made a couple of outstanding suggestions and dealt with the problems caused by strong gusts of wind at an outdoor venue with calm assurance. All of the food was incredible. The hor's d'ourves were fantastic, especially the brie and artichoke tarts, mini lobster rolls and tuna tacos. The mac and cheese in mini ramekins were also a huge hit. The dinners were equally delicious. I had the half chicken, which was served with a delicious polenta. It was absolutely amazing. Perfectly cooked, moist with a crispy skin. Other sides were served family style and were all fantastic. The dessert was also superb. Each guest received a trio of mini desserts, each of which was delightful. We had several guests with food restrictions (vegetarian, gluten free, dairy free). The servers made sure the restrictions were observed, and they made it a point to bring appropriate appetizers to those guests, which was a very nice touch. All of the guests raved about the food. The service was also first class. There were so many servers handling the passed hor's d'ourves that every guest had multiple chances to try each of the offerings. Service of the dinner was equally impressive. The venue is outdoors, and it is a bit of a hike from the kitchen tent to the dining area. Despite that, the guests were served quickly, and the food came to the table still hot. Finally, their prices are quite reasonable, especially given the outstanding quality of the food and service. A very good value.

Again, a not great experience at Nuchies…read more I had to attend a meeting for my service organization. The bar experience was abysmal! A simple order - Johnny Walker Red on the rocks, and a whiskey sour. Bartender looks at me and grabs the bottle of Jack Daniels. I explained, no, Johnny Walker Red. I pointed to the bottle on the shelf. She proceeds to grab a bottle of vodka. Finally, she understands Johnny Walker, and asks which one - "I have two kind." Finally, she pours the correct liquor and moves on to the whiskey sour. First, she fills a collins glass with ice, and grabs the Jack Daniels again. I told her Seagrams. She gave me a blank look, and grabs the bottle of Johnny Red. "No! Seagrams 7." I pointed to the bottle of Seagrams. She gave me a dirty look, and pours it into the glass. "And coke?" she asked. "No. Whiskey Sour. Sour Mix." Another blank expression, and she picked a button at random. My friend took the drink and tasted it. Nothing like a whiskey sour - she put tonic water in it. Buffet food was ok. Green beans were more gray than green, and the shredded carrots mixed in were more white than orange. Other than that, everything else was acceptable. What wasn't acceptable was the lack of attention to the room. The two servers stood at the foot of the buffet table and watched as everyone went through the line. Some people went up to the bar, and they finally had to call the bartender over to make drinks (good luck with that!) It was well into our business part of the meeting (about 45 minutes later) when they started to remove the stacks of empty plates from tables, interrupting the speaker. After that, they broke down the buffet, clanging the chafers as they cleaned them up and carried them out. Usually, this would be done when the room was empty. It was a major distraction. As the meeting dragged on, the servers kept peeking out from where they were hiding, looking at their watches, and shaking their heads. Obviously, they wanted to be someplace else. If I wasn't required to attend these meetings, I would spend my time at a place where I can get my drink order correct, and I don't have to worry about the papers I'm working from falling into my dirty dishes from dinner. I don't know why the experience has changed so much from when I first attended meetings there a couple of years ago. New staff, maybe? Everything seems to be such an effort for the people working the event, and they really seemed miserable. Maybe put on servers who enjoy the job?

Long-time fan, but disappointed with the new Italian combo portions…read more I've been coming here for years and have always loved the Italian combo grinder -- the bread is still fantastic (crusty outside, soft inside, just right), the long hot peppers pack that perfect kick, and the overall flavor profile is still spot-on. The shop looks great after the recent updates under new ownership -- cleaner, brighter, more inviting space. That said, I was really let down on my first visit since the change. The grinder I got for lunch had noticeably less meat than before. What used to be a hearty, well-stacked sandwich with generous layers of cold cuts now felt skimpy on the protein -- probably about half (or less) the amount I was used to. The other components (cheese, veggies, hot sauce) were fine, but the lack of meat made it feel more like a veggie-heavy sub than the satisfying Italian combo I always counted on. Everything else was good -- friendly service, quick prep, fresh ingredients -- so I'm hoping this was just an off day or an adjustment period with the new team. I'd love to see the portions return to their old generous standard, because the foundation here is still strong. 2.5/5 stars from me right now. Still my go-to deli in the area, but I'll be watching to see if the meat comes back in full force. Keep up the great bread and peppers!
