I went today Feb. 19th 2019 asked for 20$ of gas and had to pay for 40$ because of an employees mistake. I asked for 20$ because all I had was 20$ and now I'm in the hole because of human error! Do not reserve a truck here thinking it will be waiting for you to pick up at your scheduled time. I reserved mine 2 days in advance online. When I attended their location looking for moving supplies the lady told me they had nothing with respects to supplies and could not guarantee a truck for my prebooked ( paid ) reservation. When I asked if they had the moving blanket/pads that I had reserved and had paid for with my credit card she said " you haven't paid for them. I told her I certainly had paid for 2 dozen pads with my credit card and that I had already paid credit card the bill. Long story short....I had an uneasy feeling about this older female U-Haul employee's attitude so i called Customer Service at U-Hail to advise that I did not get a warm and fuzzy feelling about this reservation. The U-Haul rep assured me this Hawkesbury Gas Bar U-Haul female. could not rent the truck to anyone else and quoted me a code assigned to the truck & me in the event she tried to rent it out. I attended on the Friday night and observed my truck still sitting in the U-Haul lot. I attended again on Saturday morning around 9:00 a.m and my truck was still in the lot. I attended again at 11:40 a.m, early the same morning for my pick-up to find my truck was just leaving the Hawkesbury Gasbar U-Haul heading over the bridge to Quebec. When I confronted the older female U-Haul person she lied and said she never rented out my 26' truck because her electricity was out. A few minutes later she said it was U-Haul corporate that rented it out....(She knew it was reserved!) I told her that I had needed this truck for a 300 mile out of town one way move with people scheduled to load on one end and unload on the other end. I asked her who is suppose to pay for that. She just ignored me. I reported this dishonest employee to U-Haul today via phone. The customer service issued me a credit of $50 for her actions....Big deal! I lose in the big picture. All I can say is I would not recommend this dishonest business located in Hawkesbury Ontario at this gas bar/ station right beside the bridge to Quebec.....That older lady working there is not friendly....and she is dishonest. I hope the Regional Manager takes note of this review before more customers are treated so poorly! Shame on you! Totally discusting!

The manager created some very imaginative stories which involved blaming anyone and anything except his honest mechanics. Never to return. 1 star because there's no choice
