Ultimate Staffing (Culver City) has been the only recruiting agency in town that has been communicative with me. Trust me, I've tried a few, and most of them are just glorified job boards. The market has changed so much in 2024-2025 that procedures have changed with agencies, now being less involved with applicants searching for jobs.However, Ultimate Staffing is a different story! Sam - my recruiter - has been great at communicating; he is always keeping tabs with me on potential job opportunities on a weekly basis. Frankly, the biggest challenge Sam has to deal with is the current ever-changing climate of the 'wants and needs' of employers. In the past, it seemed it was much easier and quicker to find applicants jobs. But in 2025, finding assignments for temp work is a less swift process. Thankfully, Sam is pretty upfront about how things work in today's market, so I really appreciate this honesty and transparency. The best thing about the Ultimate Staffing recruiters is their coaching sessions. My one-on-ones with Sam before interviews has been very helpful with his insight and advice. Final Thoughts: My advice for any recent unemployed folks is that they should sign up to an agency like Ultimate Staffing ASAP! Do not wait until the last minute when their benefits runs out. You apply to the jobs on their website with them you call to follow up because they never call you it's always you got to contact this person you got to contact that person we don't handle that or we don't have jobs but it's showing on their website for that location to apply the jobs are there. Bad company and bad handlers. If the handler doesn't like you, you did something to make them look bad, or don't play ball with the handler, you will be avoided. They are unprofessional. I took an assignment for 2 weeks only from Xiomara Medrano. Was told duties were light packing, moving some boxes and enter data onto system. Well, I was the only male so I ended up being a mover, bringing down heavy boxes, pile them on a location, picking heavy boxes from one room and moved them to another room for later pick up. The other worker from the same agency, a lady, got the easy job, nothing but scanning papers, that's fine, not the point really. The company liked my work, they wanted me to come back onto the new site to help unload and bring boxes to corresponding offices. Told the company my contract is only for two weeks and unless there is some discussion with the handler about coming back and negotiate the pay, which I have yet to speak of, I won't be coming back after my last day. Well, I got sick on the last day, I reported it. I was told to take care. Left it at that. 2 weeks passes by, Xmas and new years came and went. Sent an email to check any other assignments and was told I failed to report to work, I was in violation and thus they cannot work with me. I explained I did report and was even told to take care. The story changed, now it was because I failed to report that I was okay and ready to work they cannot help me and my email got blocked so I could not respond to the email any further to explain that my contract was only 2 weeks and thus I did not need to report any further than the last date on the contract and furthermore, my contract never got extended nor we negotiated for more time. This assignment was given to her at last minute and Xiomara told me she needed people for it and its one of their best clients if I can help. I had moved on until the last email I received and then being blocked so I cannot respond and explain my side is a childish move. read more

I wanted to get on here and write an honest review being that I have worked with this staffing agency and now have a full time position (Madigan is the person I worked with to be exact) and my personal experience was great ! She walked me through the process from beginning to end and checked in on me along the way and made me feel comfortable to go to her if I had any questions or needed anything. 7 months later, I am fully singed to my current company and absolutely love it here ! Not all my agency experiences have been this successful, or if I'm being honest this is my first success story with an agency, but maybe it was just the person that I got lucky with. Aside from all the great things, I will say in the beginning I was a little lost, as I don't think I understood how agencies actually worked as a whole and would have appreciated, possibly, a one pager of how this process flows from beginning to end, as it wasn't as clear to me. I first signed up with Ultimate when I was returning to the workplace after being a SAHM for 12 years. I was nervous, but they were amazing, reassuring and inspired such confidence it helped me to feel as capable as I knew I was. Flash forward to now, I have been away from CA for more than 6 years. I needed a job, but this time I wanted a career. I "met" (due to COVID we zoomed) with Madigan Bailey. To say I feel like I won the lottery with Madigan is an understatement. Madigan is bright, professional, focused and kind. I was nervous because times being what they are, I didn't know what to expect. Madigan was not only reassuring, but she offered guidance in terms of my resume and was honest about the types of jobs I co uh I'd be right for. I was open to anything and after our first meeting I felt I could trust her to be on the lookout for right fits positions. The agents at Ultimate Staffing seem to work as a team, and in my case, with Madigan at the helm, it was nothing but smooth sailing for me. It should be stated that this process was not over night, and it was not quick. I have a specific skill set so jobs I would want aren't plentiful. But, the work Madigan did was methodical, deliberate and it TRULY paid off. I hope she is treated well and is appreciated by her company, because she is a real credit to that office. This place was... interesting? First off, as other reviewers have pointed out, this branch is totally unorganized. I spoke to several people about my experience, then was asked to come in to their Century City office to once again explain my background. I would be totally fine going in, only they provide no parking, they ask you to park at the mall nearby... Pretty big red-flag, but sure. Next, the staff there were very ambivalent and not friendly. I met with the staffer who didn't even shake my hand, and we spoke for 5 minutes about my background, again. I was then asked to film myself? After filming myself, I spoke with another staffer, and that was it. The only reason I was asked to come in was to film the pointless 30 second clip of myself. I guess they just want to prove you are a human who looks decent, but really it just shows little effort they want to put into the process, they would rather have you trek to get in front of a camera rather put in the leg-work to provide quality candidates by using standard hiring methods (LinkedIn, phone calls, Skype, etc). That same day I received an offer to start with a liquor distributor that is absolutely going out of business due to shady business practices and completely outdated technology. I worked there for 3 months and throughout my time there I voiced my concerns to Brian about how the company is breaking the law (complicated liquor laws) and how it is a bad environment. He said that's just how it is everywhere.... After putting in my 90 days with the shady liquor distributor I was told that they would not be able to keep me on and that my 90th day would be my final day. Then, the Monday after my final day, I received a call from Brian telling me that it was a mistake, they needed me to go in. I said I was not interested, but Brian insisted that they had something for me to work on that only I could do. Then he said he was having a really bad morning so if I could just go as a favor. And so I went in. Sure enough, there wasn't anything they needed me for, they just expected me to continue working and were going to offer me an on-call contract... I said no thank you, and left. Shortly thereafter, I continued working with Ultimate and was given interviews with really shady companies (self-help gurus, shady nonprofits) and just had enough. I told them I got another offer (was in the process but it wasn't final) and ended my business with them. I went with another staffing agency in the area who was so much more accommodating, much friendlier, much more professional, and who actually contracted with respectable companies. So, if you decide to work with this staffing agency, do realize that they knowingly contract with shady, bottom of the barrel companies who are desperate for bodies, but who are too incompetent and too awful to find and retain talent themselves. read more

I am forever grateful to the entire team at Ultimate Staffing, but most importantly Kelly. I was transitioning from one industry and wanted to do something different as a change in my career, but because I didn't have the required skill set on my resume, I felt a bit stagnant and discouraged in having to look for another job that would be receptive to my work experience that I already had. Funny enough, I had came across an ad that was perfect for me and also happened to be with Ultimate Staffing. I do believe that the universe was directing me to them because I was so fearful that by just relying on my positive qualities that it wouldn't have been enough and I would've been a sitting duck. I've had situations of judgement during job searches and for awhile, I became content because I didn't want to have to go through the exhaustion of following-up with businesses or companies that just weren't as forthcoming. When I first interviewed with Kelly, I wasn't sure what to expect because I've never used an agency before to gain a job, but I left feeling remarkably accomplished and confident. I was able to show my personality without the idea that I was too much personality. She listened and was attentive in understanding my needs and end goals in order to play the middle person that could connect me with the right places without the wait period; I was relieved because I hate the tedious job hunting experience and she allowed me to gain experience that I did not have from working in the same industry for the past several years. Let me start by saying I waited over a month to write this review. Initially I was extremely irritated and wanted to make sure I was able to convey my dismay & disdain for this company and my personal helper Julie. I responded to a non-profit job on Craigslist and was contacted by Julie from ultimate staffing. I was happy because I love non -profits especially those involving children as I have recently gotten certified to work with them. I gladly accepted the job and began work. First, the company was horrible. The boss Veronica was a nasty human being. Who , on multiple occasions belittled and embarrassed her staff. Including me. I let Julie know my concerns the first week. As I am triggered by people who are cruel. NWell, although Julie cant exactly change the personality of her clients I definitely would have wanted to feel supported as she connected me to them. That was alarming in it's self but the illegal and fraudulent actions are completely on her. The boss At the company would have me cloxk in& out. Well I put those times on my time sheet. And overheard my boss call Julie to tell her they didn't approve overtime.mind you I arrive atleast 5 min early and stayed only minutes after 5 if something needed to be finished. Not like I wanted any extra time in that hell hole. Julie called me and told me to change my time card to fit my evil bosses wishes. I'm talking about minutes!! I arrive at 8:24 clock in and begin work. I was asked to keep them at 8:30 although I had already worked those times!!!!! That is against the law!!!!! Not to mention as soon as I was "let go" only after I called Julie to tell her my boss accused me of lying and I gave her proof I wasn't. It made me uncomfortable so I let Julie know. And she called my boss who then "let me go". Initially Julie seemed to be understanding of me since I had called her several times over the month with MAJOR concerns all while my boss expressed I was doing well. But a week later I couldnt get ahold of her. It was very clear she was no longer interested in helping find another job. I have zero desire to work with another staffing agency as this was my only experience and it was awful. Is the overtime worth court? Not for me. I enjoy peace in my life and i don't value money enough to be treated poorly by an employer nor so I want the anxiety of taking people to court. But I know some people have to so avoid this company or julie. Oh and USYVL should be shut down immediately or stop staffing people in a roach infested hell hole of a non-profit. read more

I don't usually write reviews unless I feel strongly about a business or situation, whether really good or really bad. In this case it's the latter, but I wanted to give people a heads-up about this staffing agency. It'll probably prevent me from getting further placement assistance from them, but as you'll read it's not like there's been anything to begin with. I found Ultimate Staffing in late March through Ledgent by way of Yelp. Oscar at Ledgent referred me to Ultimate Staffing as their focus was more my skill set. My initial impression via phone, prior to meeting at their office, was excellent. Brian Forster was assigned as my rep. He was very friendly, professional, and engaging. That impression did a 180 when I went to their office. Brian came across with a slightly aloof, almost better-than-thou-art, attitude and I was left alone for long intervals. When he was meeting with me, it was rushed and the process wasn't very clear. I got cut off when trying to explain my background or what I was looking for, and was never given the typical skills tests or paperwork to fill out that other reviewers mentioned. At one point, Brian brought in another rep (Angela? Andrea?) then left her to talk to me about a position she had available with one of her clients. She spent more time talking to me about her boyfriend and wanting to get a dog than the position itself. Before I knew it, she had me sitting in front of the computer trying to make a video introduction. Brian came back in and told me to hold off until I was sure I wanted to try for the position. After discussing my skills and goals a bit, he mentioned a position in downtown LA that he had in mind for me, and had me make a video for that. He almost scoffed under his breath at the length of my video (50 sec vs 30 sec), but I paid it no mind. One of the things that bothered me the most in-office was when Brian basically told me I shouldn't get my hopes up for getting a position that paid decently. His reason was that client companies have the agency fees added on to the candidate's rate. This is totally understandable and the need to balance the client budget vs candidate goals, but wouldn't that make the agency want to get more for the candidate as the agency in turn makes more? Beyond that, it's like being told your experience counts for nothing and you should be happy with what you get. Again, I understand the job market isn't the greatest at the moment and expectations need to be realistic, but is the attitude necessary? Brian was also blatantly condescending, again with the better-than-thou-art attitude, when he told me "people don't realize that with more money also comes more responsibility." Um, excuse me?! I've been in my line of work for over a decade, building my skillset and taking on more responsibility as I go, so I'm well aware of what wages/salaries pay for. Anyway, Brian told me to email him my resume in Word format, which I did before leaving the office, and he'd contact me the next day to discuss the position in downtown plus some skills tests I needed to take. Over a month later, that call never came despite 5 follow-up emails and 2 phone messages. I also sent him a revamped version of my resume at one point. I finally received a cursory response last week after contacting Oscar at Ledgent. Brian asked if the commute to a specific address would be okay for me. I thanked him for finally getting back to me and that I hoped he was well, then confirmed the commute was fine and asked if there was a position I was being considered for. No response to that question, but he did ask me to send my resume in Word format. It was like Brian didn't even bother to read my emails as it was actually attached to the very email he had finally responded to!! I sent it again, and asked again if there was a position I was being submitted for. A week later and I have received no response at all, not that I'm surprised at this point. Judging from other reviews, I'm not the first one to encounter Brian's lack of professionalism. It makes me wonder about the effectiveness of Ultimate Staffing in placing candidates. I know there's likely dozens of us, if not more, looking for assistance with a limited number of client positions available, but I don't think it's too much to ask to be treated with respect and like a business professional. I could definitely put my background to good use in cleaning up their act!! So if you choose to go with Ultimate Staffing, be forewarned. Hopefully you get a different rep that takes their job and service more seriously than Brian. You're probably better off trying another staffing agency rather than wasting your time here. Notice: A) The last 2 reviews are five star B) The yelpers have only wrote a few reviews C) Reviews are a little over a week apart. D) Start by saying five star and "Alexandra" is an "ambassador" writing a review a month after coming in... *Attention Yelpers*: Those reviews are clearly fake. Most unprofessional experience at a staffing agency ever. I came in end of February and met with Brian and was totally appalled by my experience & his lack of professionalism. Like Anna B.'s review, I was told they validate parking and when the time came they said nope. They said there is street parking (which there is not . .its in the heart of century city) and that people usually park at the mall half a mile away and walk (BS). So they say they offer parking and then proceed to have jobseekers looking seeking work come and pay $14 for an hour. That is called "Bait & Switch". They tried to brush it off by saying they have to pay for parking and they work there - irrelevant & unprofessional. I had gone over the rate for the position I was interviewing for over the phone and it was made clear to me. When I came in they asked what I wage I WOULD LIKE (redundant, makes me think Brian was playing games on his phone or something when we spoke). Brian proceded to ask me personal questions about my clothing, my insurance, what kind of car I drive, "chicks", and what kind of beer I like. NOTHING TO DO WITH THE JOB, MY SKILLS, WHY I WANT TO WORK THERE, PAST EXPERIENCE. I feel like I was robbed for my time spent on the phone, filling out online forms, commuting, time in the office with incompetent employees, and $14 on top for the bait and switch parking maneuver they pulled on me. Shame on you This place is absolute scam and I feel bad for anyone who is conned into coming here. My hope is that someone reads my review and the other honest reviews before coming in and having a very negative experience like many before them. read more

I found Ultimate Staffing Services and Ledgent online and decided to call. I spoke to Lindsey Smith who convinced me that there were a lot of bookkeeping jobs available and that I should come in asap. I first had to spend a good hour to two hours filling out paperwork before I came and I called before the meeting to ask if they validate parking which Christine (who answered the phone) said that yes they do validate parking. So when I arrived, Lindsey seemed excited to meet me but couldn't stop talking about how crazy her day has been at the office which I thought was rather uncalled for considering she knew that I just came in from working at the office all day too. Then she introduced me to Brian Forster who said that they don't have any bookkeeping jobs and that he had another position that he thought that I would be great for which I was willing to consider. They made me record a video for these potential employers and left me alone in the office for a long time. Then Brian said to please send a resume to him via email as soon as I got home which I did. Before I left I wanted to get a validation for my parking which Lindsay said that they don't do and treated me like I was lying about it and asked me who I spoke to. Good thing I remembered the girl's name who said that and they confronted her about it in front of me and she denied that she said that. I was there for maybe 90 mins and the parking cost $21!!!! I never heard from Brian that he got my resume or from Lindsey. Those two were so shockingly unprofessional. I don't know how they stay in business. read more

This place is the worst!! It used to be great about 10 years ago. Now they do nothing but waste candidates time! Im surprised they are in business! Their Downtown office closed, which is a bad sign!! The interview process is ridiculous! I emailed Brian with an updated resume. He emailed me back to see if I could come in this afternoon or tomorrow! I replied possibly, do you have open roles that fit my resume? Then dead silence!! He never responded! Im glad I did not got back in to re register! Never trust someone unless that have open roles, this place has been a revolving door of new people for years. Also emailed Amy Juneua about 5 times without a response!!! About 10 years ago they had Beth R there and she was fantastic! Very sad, but skip this place. They should be cited. read more
