He asked many good questions to get to know more about us, our likes and dislikes. He even provided us with a timeline, like a wedding planner! His rates were reasonable. We met with him again prior to the event to sample music and confirm our selections. He was very easy to get along with and made us feel confident. We were a little worried since the guests on my husbands side were very different from my side. On my side, we have Puertoricans, Dominicans and South Americans mostly. On my husbands side, Irish, Italian, Jewish. We wanted to include everyone and encourage as much dancing as possible. This was quite a delicate balance but Enrique managed to pull it off. His side of the family was on the dance floor as much as mine, even his mother and grandma had the time of their lives. People are still talking about it. They've never danced so much in their lives. Wells works to avoid cliche (and let's be real, boring!) songs and aspects of a wedding reception ::cough:: bouquet toss ::cough:: My husband and I met with Wells three times before the wedding to plan the ultimate playlist. These meetings were relaxed and fun, as Wells has a cool demeanor that makes meeting with him seem like an old friend. The day of my wedding I was a bit nervous that the music might be too mod for my family's conservative midwestern ways ... this was not the case! The genius of Wells is that he quickly picks up on the crowd's tastes, and incorporates a variety of music that is both popular and fun. No song is played in duration (unless the crowd is raging), and the variety and lack of slow songs keeps things moving. When the dancing portion of the evening began, my guests flooded the dance floor like there was no tomorrow. I saw some family members bust moves I did not know they were physically capable of! In an unwieldy testament of the awesome music, my guests did the following (amazing!) things: - A double dutch dance with an invisible jumprope - Lots of (literally) ass-busting breakdancing - A human train that weaved throughout The W hotel - Shattered many a glass on the dance floor ( yeah, we know how to party) - Refused to leave! The owner of the…read morebusiness, Bill Boettcher, told me less than 48 hours before my event that he would be sending a substitute when all along I was told it would be he at my event. All during the time before my event he was extremely difficult to reach but I let it go because my primary music was to be through the live band, who was fantastic. But there were reasons I also wanted a DJ and my reasons turned out to be valid. The DJ Bill ultimately sent was ok. the music was fine and really there was nothing in particular I needed to have the DJ do or to discuss with him so no complaints. But the motivator, as sweet as could be, did not seem to know her job. I had to tell her when to give out items and if I hadn't told her we would still be waiting. Only during the last hour did she do any kind of interaction with the kids. There were no games as I had been told there would be and items that were specifically ordered for my event, I never saw. All of this didn't leave me thrilled, but the worst was that I wrote to Bill after the event and let him know I just wanted to talk to him. I wasn't going to make too big a deal of it but I thought maybe the motivator was new and simply needed some guidance. I didn't hear back for a week and when I wrote again, I received a rather rude response admonishing me for not being more patient. He didn't like some of what I wrote in my second e-mail (which did indicate I was upset he hadn't responded yet)and indicated that was the only reason he was responding despite being so busy. Had he only written originally and asked me to wait until things quieted down I wouldn't be writing this. But he stated right out that he only responded to me because something upset him. Yet he didn't feel it important enough to answer me when I was upset, didn't feel it important enough to make sure things had gone well, and overall didn't think it important enough to provide good customer service. I don't know if things would have been better with a different motivator and if the owner had done my event, as originally planned. But he (Bill, the owner) is extremely difficult to reach when things are going well, and pretty much not at all unless he feels it is important. I would not use this company again.
