I bought a water filter from Ultimate Plumbing on 6/3/22. I was assured this system would last at least 10 years. Less than two years later, it failed -- on Easter Sunday, no less. I called Ultimate Plumbing on 4/28 and a technician came out on 4/30. I paid $150 for that visit, and he said he'd check to see if my system was still under warranty. He promised to call me back the next day. It's now 5/4 -- almost a week later -- and I haven't heard a single word. Since then, I've called the office multiple times, left numerous messages, and received zero response. Nothing. Not even a courtesy call. The invoice I was given even says "incomplete," which just adds to the unprofessionalism. What's truly frustrating is how easy it was to get in touch with them when I was spending money. Now that there's a problem? Radio silence. This is not how a reputable company treats its customers -- especially after selling a product that clearly didn't live up to its promises. Called them on a Saturday afternoon, for a water heater issue. The end result was a bad element. I was informed that the service call would be $250 for Saturday; if we waited until Monday, it would be $150. It was a "hot" water issue and with the storm and cold temps coming, we chose Saturday knowing the cost. Completely understandable. I was also informed that as soon as the electrician was on the way, our credit card would be charged. Not when arriving, when on the way. Fine. Received a call that the tech would be here within the hour at 2:30. Arrived at 4:15. Okay. The tech showed me the issue and explained that there was a hole in the bottom element from corrosion, it happens, and had to be replaced. We were told if that were the case it would be $600. We weren't sure if that was total or in addition to the service call. The tech replaced both elements, because well, they come in a package, and the thermostat which is also included in the parts package. He was finished with the job by 5 pm and sat in his truck to write the estimate. (Yup, we have cameras; date and time stamped) Well, for 1 hour of work it was $600 and the part cost $50. Good thing I found a $50 off coupon online, because WHAT THE ACTUAL?????????? So, the whole job totaled $850. If plumbers charge $600 an hour, I'm starting a new business. Price gouging to say the least. We had already paid $150 for the service call and the extra $100 to come out on a Saturday, how do you justify the $600 fee for 'technically' 45 minutes of work? The part is about $40 at any home improvement store so even that was more than a 10% upcharge. Come on, man. The tech, Chris, was VERY kind and professional; explained everything and why. He's not the one who makes up the pricing, so quips with him. Greed is not a quality I would want associated with my business. Now, I am very grateful that they were able to come out and fix the problem, I am not happy with Mr. Randis thinking that because of it being a Saturday emergency he can basically double the price of the job. They were our regular plumbers and used them for many things. On their last visit we had a heat exchanger leaking on the boiler. To make a long story short they charged $1,800 to replace the exchanger. Research showed the list price for the exchanger was $400 and it took them less than 2 hours to replace. As you can see the cost does not add up. They took advantage of the situation and will never be called again. I would tell anyone calling them to beware. I called them to fix a leak in my crawl space and they came the very next day to fix it. They were very reasonable priced. That was a month a go. Then today we had the alarm from the grinder box ringing and they came a few hours later. They knew exactly what the issue was and fixed it. Had all the equipment in his truck. Which means he wasn't trying to get us to pay for him to come back. He cleaned out the grinder tank and we have not had an issue of the alarm going off. So here is the deal, I had used them in the past and they were good. Last year I had a problem with my heat and the guy they sent out said it was in the electronics on the boiler. It would be $50 cash that day and I would have to call Tom and get him out there to fix it. I had no problem with this I paid him. Then I called them at least every day for 2 weeks, then every week for 2 months and I still try to call and NO ONE EVER CALLS BACK. So much for service on with this company. Called them to come out and replace my heating tape on my pipes because they had frozen. Well they came the same day I called, but was 45 mins late past the time they were suppose to be here. I understand things happen and need to stay later at jobs before me, but call me and let me know. I left work an hour early to be here at 4 pm as scheduled them to be here. Well they replace the heating tape but threw the garbage from the tape on my back deck and left it there. Also left all the old foam and heating tape under my house next to the new foam and tape. Seriously, my garbage cans were right next to their truck!!!! How ignorant!!! I asked the one guy a question before they left and he was really snotty with a I DON'T KNOW ANSWER. They were under the house they could of looked real quick but NO to much in a hurry to get out of here. Price was outrageous!! I called this company to check out my sceptic tank and to any repairs that is needed they came on august 6 to do work. They said my sceptic need to be unclogged which cost me 500. After they left my sceptic been leaking every since. I been calling them since they came out on August 6 and no one has came back out after they stated they would send someone to take a look at it. They haven't returned my calls or made a follow up phone call. I wound suggest anyone in long pond to use this company. They do extremely professional work. They ain't the cheapest around, but pretty reasonable. You definitely get what you paid for, and that is quality workmanship. So far, they replaced my water heater, unclogged my dishwasher pipe, and re-did the plumbing under my bathroom sink. All done very professionally. If I need any more plumbing done, I'm calling them. I called Ed Scoda last Wednesday because I have a plumbing issue going on. He said he cant make it Wednesday, but can try Thursday or definitely Friday. Nevertheless, I waited for call backs recieved none & waited Friday all day, no show or call even. I called the answering service numerous times & got not one reply back. I called yesterday twice, no call back. Then tried again today, told the answering service tell him to forget it & I could've had the job done already. I'm upset with my plumbing issue & calling a professional plumber that does return your calls back instead of avoiding me. That is very unprofessional for a business as I heard that he does this frequently to other people that tried to get him to do work. I called on Tuesday to setup an appointment for routing oil furnace tuneup and was told he could come Friday morning. Then Friday comes.. it's past 11:00am so I decide to call to see what's happening and Tom says he will swing by at 3:00pm, no apologize or anything. This company was supposed to come to do some home warranty work on my home. I was told between 12 and 1 for them to show up. They never showed and I had to call them to see where they were. I was told about an another hour to and hour and a half. I waited two and a half more hours for them never to show. I called and left a message and received no call back.
