Allow me to preface this review by stating that for 16 years previous, we had perhaps the worst HVAC one could imagine. Our electric bills were through the roof, the system was over powered, and under distributed. The duct work was improperly installed, temperatures varied such that you could hang meat downstairs and cook it upstairs. Sears, did not maintain it properly. They also did not make good on their repair warranty as they used local subcontractors that evidently refused to make proper repairs under the Sears warranty and receive a pittance of reimbursement. The Sears service person blatantly lied to my face about the problem, even as I point out to him that he was absolutely lying!! There!! I have vented!! Now to RJ Groner. From the onset they were absolutely professional. They came into the house and examined the entire system. They were aghast at what they found. They explained the systems faults and what was needed to correct the issue. It required a complete extraction of the old system (ductworks and all) and 2 completely new systems. I opted for a hybrid electric/gas furnace to boot (I'd recommend if you have any type of gas service, either LP or NG). The installation took nearly 3 weeks. This was in the heat of July and August. RJ Groner supplied us with window A/C units to help bear with the heat. Fantastic!!! The technicians they sent were thorough, professional, friendly and informative. The work they did was clean and attractive in appearance. They explained everything along the way and made additional adjustments along the way when they found something that needed attention or improvement (at no additional cost). During the installation process, supervisors would come in and inspect the work and give us progress updates. They also addressed any concerns that we had. Upon completion, the system was tuned to our liking and we we given an in depth explanation as to the best way to program our thermostats. The final day the installers were here until nearly 9PM getting it done to fit within our schedule. I cannot say enough about the professionalism of the entire process. I felt extremely good about our choice, but afterwards I felt even better. Our electric bills began arriving and the first month it was cut in half. The next month it was reduced by about 60%. Last month's bill was the cheapest we've EVER had (even before we had an HVAC system). Great work by RJ Groner and its entire staff. I would highly recommend them!! They are most communicative and stand behind everything they say. They do not misrepresent themselves or their products. A class "A" organization. read more

Our Central Air conked out during the last heat wave @ July 2016. (Why is it always during the hottest days of the year?) I called after hours, around 7-7:30pm and spoke with KYLE R. Was surprised that anyone even answered and Kyle informed me that they handle 24hr. emergencies as well as regular business hours. What a relief to know that I can call them at any time with an emergency. Kyle asked me a couple of questions about our unit and explained where/how to determine the make/model/serial #, etc. of the CA unit. Made it so easy to find the info I needed. He was VERY honest and informed me of the additional price for coming out after hours, and suggested that if he came out 1st thing the next morning...that the service price would be drastically reduced. I could last a night no problem, just turned on a fan and used the heat as an excuse to eat some ice-cream @ bed! As promised, he came almost as soon as I was up! He took a look at the unit and determined the compressor had failed. It was the last thing we wanted to hear, as it meant either replacing the condenser or installing a brand new unit. BUT he walked us thru all the options, prices and told us they even offered financing! That was a HUGE relief! We chose to replace the condenser, BUT if we had the money...I would NOT have hesitated to purchase the new unit. After speaking with Kyle and seeing his honesty, plus the fact that I practically grew up seeing the R.J. Groner trucks @ neighbor's houses and communities, I would only let them perform this service. Kyle came back the VERY NEXT DAY to install the new condensor. I was told it would probably take a few days to locate and pickup a condensor for my unit, as it's an R-22. But I got a call @ 9am the next day telling me the great news...they had located and picked up the condensor in less than 16hrs.! Kyle was back here by 11am! The entire job was done in only about 1 1/2 hours! It really felt like a miracle! This was SUCH a great experience with R.J. Groner and I will NEVER even THINK of calling any other company. Financing was the perfect option for us and Kyle was very polite and informative and just a down-right nice guy. That's something you dont find very often nowadays. Point of this story: R.J. Groner provided us with wonderful service when we needed it the most and I would not hsitate to recommend them (and Kyle) to everyone I know! read more

We had our heating / AC unit replaced by RJ Groner, BEST DECISION EVER !!! No matter what time of the day you contact them they are always so cheerful on the phone. They are an amazing group of people that actually CARE, are VERY HONEST, to the point, no gimmicks no run around!! Josh was the person in charge for us and he did everything in his power to make it happen. Especially around this time of the year that is their busy season! no excuses nothing! he made sure we were going to be serviced ! Josh responded to our needs in a very timely manner, got back to us with available dates that were so convenient for us !! He sent out the most wonderful workers Wayne and Ryan that were efficient , took their time to explain it all to us ...(even how to use the thermostat) in a manner that was professional, respectful and with no fancy terminology !! They inspected everything !! they made sure everything was running accordingly ... did not rush to do the work so that they may get to their next destination!! they treated us like we were their only customer for the day. They made us feel so comfortable , at ease and what else can one ask for? My husband and I are EXTREMELY happy !! WE HAVE HEAT !!!!!! we feel like little kids on Christmas morning !! makes you appreciate the greater things in life and appreciate those behind the scenes that make things happen for us !! So, Groner you installed our new furnace based on you as a service contractor for Eastern Propane, furnace works but whatever you did is now impacting my BRAND NEW CARRIER AC unit that I had installed last summer. It will not turn on, I asked your workman specifically to make sure all connections were correct because I did not want what is happening right now to happen. Obviously LIP SERVICE. So I sit in my 95 degree house and wait for you to return a phone call, and I have been kind only called 2x now. So now I have to have the folks that installed the unit come out and it will cost me 500.00 dollars if I want it fixed tonight or 270.00 tomorrow. Trust me when I tell you that you will be eating this cost, if I have to take you to small claims court I will. Simple phone call would have done so much. BUT NOTHING. And yes I did call Eastern to page you out and nothing. UPDATE: So Groner did come thru this morning, it was a horrible night of sleeping but in the end it was not their fault. Eastern never called them to let them know there was a problem and the problem was not with the connections but rather with our stupid thermostat(only 6 years old). They replaced the thermostat gratis as well as helped us with the the AC folks that also came out. So I apologize for my initial review and change it. The customer can definitely be wrong, Eastern on the other hand has a lot of explaining to do. My next phone call. read more

Terrible customer service one of thier manager with red hair came to fix my unit with an attiude. They said my sunction line was cracked and that i need freon. So rj groner said we had to wait two weeks in this hot weather for a part that was coming in. So the day finally comes and the guy arrives smokes cigarettes in the rj groner fan in my driveway for about 1 hour in a half comes and tell my mom that thier is no part that they just have to repair the suction line. He gets aggravted cause my mom asked him for the part they had us waiting for and he said look theres no part if you want go tell your father to come here and do this job than and he left .call the manager nancy and she was defending him as if ,she were there to see all of this and banned rj groner from coming to my house. So i call another company nauman i believe it is and they tell me all i need is freon and that my suction line isnt cracked . they put in the freon and my system was working fine till this day. They wanted me to replace a suction line that wasnt even cracked ! So instead of spending 1,600 with rj groner i went with the other company and it done for 1000!! read more

RJ Groner was great. I had my doubts about the company from all the reviews I read but it depends who get. So far I got very knowledgeable people who installed HVAC and heat pump system to this old home I purchased back in 2014 with an existing ductwork system. They gave me a full run down and education how the system works. Not like SEARS back in my old home they just installed it and every time something was unusual to me I kept calling a repair man from sears and they kept on repairing when it didn't need to. Installation of system end of October 2022. For my 1 year free inspection of end of October 2023. Two knowledgeable people inspected the system so everything went well. So far I am satisfied. Like I said it depends who you get and if they know what they're doing and trained well. But according to salesman and on site all the people with RJ Groner go through a rigorous training to achieve their license. Well so far so good, I hope it will continue this way keeping my system up running. read more

We have been using RJ Groner for 10 years. This year was our largest project as our entire heating system and AC unit needed to be replaced. From the start of my phone call we experienced nothing but TOP notch customer service. The quote process for the correct make and model unit we needed was excellent. Josh talked us through everything, and answered our numerous questions about a Hybrid system. The installers Dan and Tom, were the best. Not only working in a clean, respectful manner but also answering and explaining everything along the way. We once again couldn't be happier with the service we always get from RJ Groner. Replacing ones entire system is costly investment for your home. This company goes the extra mile to make sure everything is done correctly the first time. I was first introduced to the staff at RJ Groner through Home Depot when I needed a replacement boiler installed a few years ago. In addition to installing the boiler they corrected some of the brainless work performed by the original plumbing contractor when the house was built. I have had some warranty issues which required a return visit and multiple phone calls over several MONTHS (6 to be sure) before it finally was completed. The warranty issues did not affect the boiler function or I am sure it would have been addressed. They actually came out to my house in a blizzard to fix a leaking shower! I am in the process now of having my AC system replaced with them. I think Chuck and Lawrence are exceptions to the rule. I have NEVER had a major issue with RJG and I know of friends and institutions who have used them as well, and are completely satisfied. read more

Well this was an emergency to me, my 16-year-old blind cat fell through an open vent shame on me, and fell to the bottom. The young lady I spoke to about my problem was so kind and considerate and the gentleman that came was the same. Very helpful even carried the cat case up to my front door. I never would've been able to get her out, he had to remove the section of my furnace that holds the filter. It was very stressful to and my cat. Brandon also noticed that my hot water heater was leaking. I don't go in my basement often so I never would have even realized it. So I was so impressed with the work that he did and the work of the people in the office that they are not going to install a new water heater. read more

RJ Groner = Rock Star in my book. Living in NYC, they helped maintain a home in the Poconos I was closing down for a recently passed relative. Process took 2 years. In addition to standard maintenance, they did an emergency service that kept pipes from freezing when we lost heat. I phoned them again recently after buying a house in the Hudson Valley. Guy who's name I unfortunately forgot phoned back same day...6pm...and 100% understood the nature of the job and equipment involved. He validated both the approach and rough cost I had here. Recently called RJ Groner for a second opinion. The first company told me that I needed to replace the compressor on my heat pump for a whopping $3000. A friend recommended that I call RJ Groner before agreeing to such an expensive repair. They sent out a knowledgeable technician who thoroughly inspected my system and determined that I did not need to replace the compressor. He quoted me a price to replace the capacitor that cost me a total of $179. My heat pump is working great and I didn't replace something that wasn't broken. I am completely satisfied with their service and will recommend them to all my friends. read more

Ryan B and Mike E came yesterday to install a split unit in my house and they were wonderful...very professional and polite. They went above and beyond when installing my unit, providing instructions and answering all my questions. They always put booties on when entering the house and cleaned up everything when they were done. They also put my wall hanging back which needed to be moved slightly to install the unit. This company has serviced my furnaces for several years and installed a complete system in a rental unit. Their service is always prompt, the service techs are polite and professional, they take the time to patiently explain what was wrong. I have never had a problem with any of their work. It is never a problem to get a timely appointment and they always show up on time (unlike other companies I've used). Their prices are fair, if not the cheapest, and it's worth the peace of mind. Needed a furance repair, they came out and recommended a new one rather repair old furance. . Being over 20 yrs old it was undstandable. A week later had kerosene delivered. Furance shut off because it was running during refill. . Said they'll have someone out same day for 60$ service charge evendors though it was less then a week they received 3300 for a new furnace. . Woman in office lisa was not understanding and unprofessional it's a shame bcs till then they seemed ok. Pricey but better then other locals. read more

We were due for our annual cleaning and maintenance check. My husband is knowledgeable in a lot of things and watched as Ryan S. performed his maintenance check. My husband was very impressed with Ryan S.'s knowledge of our Mitsubishi 3 duct system and feels he went above and beyond what he needed to.
