We had a really good experience. I booked an outdoor laser tag party for 10 year old birthday. I had to move the time up half an hour after I had booked the party, I called five days before to request the time change and Matt was able to accommodate my request graciously. I was also concerned as on the Monday before the party (Friday afternoon party), the forecast was calling for rain. Matt said they could do laser tag in the rain, but not thunder/lightening and he gave me the option of switching to the video game truck. He also allowed me until the day before the party to make the decision about which way to go as the truck was available. It ended up being a beautiful sunny day and the kids had a ball. The person who set up the laser tag and ran the games for the boys was super nice and good with the kids. They didn't bring inflatable blinds (which would have taken forever to blow up anyway) but had a bunch of pop-up tent type blinds and some folding tables that the kids could hide behind. UMG has always been a great service. We've been using them for our annual Christmas party for 5 or 6 years now. Every time, they show up on time (or early) and are friendly and reliable. The game coaches that bring the truck are really good with the kids. They've never let us down (and, in fact, one time when our plans change unexpectedly, the owner was flexible and helpful). I attended a birthday party in Brockton yesterday for a friends child and I can't say enough how disappointed they were in the truck that showed up. This company states on their website " we are climate controlled, and with our on-board generator, we're self-powered". When they got there, they asked to connect to their modem and an extension cord (clearly not self powered) and the truck was beyond hot. The truck smelled like a gym locker like sweaty feet! There were no lights on inside like advertised either. And the truck needs some serious updating. The wrap was falling off and one whole side of the truck wasn't even wrapped. It was just old and not at all what you expect for the price. $500 for 2 hours is a lot and it's disappointing that it was not as advertised. After we checked reviews and now know these are not new complaints as many other give the exact same feedback. We had them come up our house for a birthday party. The two guys looked like they rolled out of bed. They did not interact with the kids, took a while to actually get the kids playing. The men in charge sat on their phones, unaware of kids who needed assistance. The truck was hot, so hot some kids left the party early. I promise you this bus has never seen a cleaning supply. -They advertise air conditioning for hot hot days, but dont carry a generator big enough for the AC. (this was a summer party- wanted to leave enough time between the review to see if friends had a better experience. They did not.) -Matt charges you up front, and cuts off every word you say, and is not friendly at all, He then sent us and our friend a promo for $50 the day after he collected payment, and then refused to even answer if they would honor it. The host was nice enough, but also did not wear deodorant. If I hadn't paid Matt in full, we would have asked them to leave. We hosted a party for my son in June 2025, and were extremely disappointed. The truck that showed up was not the nice "climate controlled" trucks that are advertised on the website. It was hot, dirty, and smelled musty. Despite booking the gaming/laser tag package, I was texted by the owner 45 minutes prior to the party that they couldn't do laser tag due to rain (weather was a light mist if anything). I was told I would receive a refund for the cancelled laser tag portion, and was never actually refunded, despite reaching out to the owner, Matt, several times. They also advertise a deal for weekday parties (party was on a Tuesday evening) but was charged the full amount for a weekend party. The 2 staff members did very little to facilitate the party besides sitting on the truck with the kids. I'm writing to you this morning to share my appreciation for your fabulous team! I didn't get to thank them myself, but Coach Jay and Coach Joey were AMAZING. They were prompt, positive, and so engaging with the kids. Every parent, upon pickup, heard from me that I don't like video games or kids' birthday parties (I am a teacher - so these are both really challenging! ) but I (ME!) had the best time at this party! And, on that note, Jay and Joey, had their fingers on the pulse of who needed a challenge, who needed a partner, who needed to be moved, etc. Their skills were awesome. We hired UMG for my son's 6th birthday party this past weekend. He is a huge Mario fan and had picked out 4 games off the website ahead of time. NONE of them were available. The game coaches told us their truck didn't have Nintendo Switch. And they "haven't had Wii in a long time". He left the truck in tears and spent the first half of the party inside the house. The website clearly says that ALL trucks have Nintendo Switch and that's why we booked this for his Mario party. It took multiple calls, voicemails and an email for Matt to finally get me with this excuse: "I guess we had the switch and the dock but no charging cord. Because of that we couldn't use the Switch." I wish I had seen the other negative reviews before I booked because this is clearly just how he operates. Don't make my mistake. read more

We just had UMG truck come for my twins 8th birthday. It was absolutely amazing. Two tech guys called when they were 30min out. They were so friendly. So polite. They arrived early to set up. With almost 25 kids they were soo helpful, upbeat, and ensured everyone had the best day ever. The laser tag was amazing too. We didn't combo and it was absolutely worth it. The crew that was sent didn't know that we were having laser tag and did not have enough guns for everyone (I was told that they could accommodate 11 kids and we restricted our invitation list to this number), and half of the guns did not work. We had two UMG party hosts - one of which tried to do the best he could to help us but he had never hosted a laser tag party before and didn't know how the guns work (it took him quite a while to figure out that most of the guns didn't work). The other UMG host barely acknowledged us and the kids. Worst - the owner has ghosted us. No response to email/text/calls. There were two staff members who came early with the truck to set up and one manned the truck while one raced around the yard making sure the boys were set-up for laser tag for the duration of the party! The staff was professional, great with kids and honored my request to limit access to certain video games. Our group was 23 boys and all the kids were entertained throughout the party. HORRIBLE!!!! We gave this company 2 parties in 2 months. First one was fine and as expected. Second one was AWFUL. Only 1 coach showed up late and then took forever to set up, so the party started 30 min late. Instead of the "limo-style", climate-controlled truck with "HUGE" TVs, we were given a disgusting trailer that had NO air conditioning (for a June party!!) - stuffy & musty. One of the small TVs was broken. A fortnight update didn't finish, so the kids weren't able to play. The "coach" yelled at the kids the entire time. This was a small party (12 kids) who were very well-behaved. I have now emailed 3 times and left a voicemail and have received NO response from the owner. UMG is awesome! We had such a wonderful experience. My friend booked with UMG in May or June 2017 and my son had a blast. We were happy to give it a go with my son for his birthday. Matt E. is busy, and it seems he is a one man show booking and answering emails. I think it's important for people to have abit of patience. Hang tight, he will get back to you. I had read some of the poor reviews prior to booking, however some of UMG's competitors either didn't have the time slot I wanted, or wanted to charge me a "travel fee" - and I live in Boston Metro West so I wasn't ok with that. Spoke with Matt at UMG, they were very eager for the business and promptly answered all my questions. They also made sure to ask prior if the first person shooter games were OK, and asked permission to use the kids pics on social media (I said no but appreciated them asking). The driver showed up 40 min early, which I was happy about since some of the reviews mentioned them showing up too late and the setup time was in fact about 30 min (park, power up, hook up Internet, download updates, etc.). Kids (mostly 10 yr olds) had a great time. Very positive experience and I would recommend them if you're looking for a kids party that keeps the kids out of the house ;) read more

Customer service is TERRIBLE! My son wanted to use the PSVR and they told me it would be $25 extra. I said okay, I paid the $25 cash. Soon after the driver left he called to tell me that the owner already charged my credit card WITHOUT MY AUTHORIZATION for the $25 that I paid in cash. He assured me it would be reversed. Months later it still isn't reversed and the OWNER COMPLETELY IGNORES my text messages regarding this $25 charge! Horrible customer service. Driver showed up 3 minutes before the party was supposed to start and took 30 minutes to set up. Tried backing into our driveway, which resulted in ruined grass and broken tree limbs. Eventually the driver gave up and parked on the street. Driver told us we should get a 30 minute credit but "the boss" only agreed to 15 minutes for some reason, despite the party starting almost 30 minutes late (with kids standing on the sidewalk waiting the whole time!). Wow, wish I'd seen Laurie's comment prior to booking this truck. And actually, our experience was even worse than this despite my many efforts to peacefully rectify a bad situation in a way that was fair to everyone. One of my two big kids was sent home from school with LICE -- obviously a highly communicable parasite -- Friday afternoon the weekend of my kids' joint party. After a Friday scramble to begin to eradicate this nasty creature, Saturday morning I called and emailed to ask to postpone for a fee since I didn't want to expose our kids' friends (or the gaming truck!!!) to LICE. I had thought that would be well-received since I was doing the right thing by saying, look, my kid has lice, and I doubt you want that on your truck. I guess if someone didn't care about kids getting lice, they'd care about getting the bad word of mouth if kids contracted lice after being on his truck. Couldn't have been more wrong. I had mistaken the dates and thought it was Sunday when it was actually booked for Saturday, Matt emailed me to say I mixed up the dates and that there was nothing he could do about it. I acknowledged this, and said we could have overcome that mixup, but asked to please work with me because it was a moot point, seeing as one of my kids had lice. A date mixup wouldn't have been a big deal under normal (healthy) circumstances because there were only 10 kids, and most of them live on our street and were around. I explained this, but also explained that we felt it was our moral obligation not to put our friends at risk. Despite several attempts to contact Matt PRIOR to the scheduled time, I received no response until Sunday, AFTER the truck was scheduled to come. (The truck did not come.) When I finally did hear, Matt sent an email he had been too busy to respond prior to his committed date and time, removing any and all options from me. He told me LICE was not the issue, it didn't matter because I had confused the days. This was starting to upset me because if I'd realized he would be so unwilling to work with me, I'd have put my kids on his truck and let him deal with the lice. (***ATTENTION PARENTS, let's repeat, 1) did not seem to mind lice on his truck, 2) took punitive approach for being honest, and 3) unwilling to work with someone for admitting this to avoid risking others.) I acknowledged once again that I had confused the dates, but that this wasn't the point and would he please work with me. When I didn't hear back hours later, I sent an email saying I was becoming frustrated and would just dispute the charges since the services were not delivered. Finally heard back from him the next afternoon (must have been me saying I'd dispute the charges) telling me he would "let me" rebook for $75 and only on a Monday through Thursday. Too little, and far too late. Disputing the charges and looking to book an entirely different party for my kids. I know as a parent in a region that has battled lice in every single elementary and middle school, I'd be very interested to have the information that Matt was completely unwilling to work with someone who was trying to do the right thing and not spread this hideous parasite. read more

I booked, paid for and got a confirmation email on 8/4/15 for my son's 9th birthday party on 9/19/15, from 2p-4p with the $25 additional outside TV package. The day of the party, 9/19/15 I got a call at 10a.m. from his wife (Melinda) saying the truck I booked and paid for with the outside package wasn't available due to a booking conflict so I couldn't have it, they could only offer the smaller truck with no outside capabilities. I was upset, but still happy my son and his 26 friends still would have a video game truck. The driver called me 15 minutes before he was supposed to arrive saying they left the first party late and wouldnt be arriving until 30 minutes later, which took time away from my booked 2p-4p party. The owner Matt Elder showed up, immediately had a attitude and was yelling at the 9 and 10 years olds for being excited and running up to the truck, "You all back away now!" The excited kids got into the truck at 2:20p, and five minutes later the generator died and all the kids came out. Matt again yelled at the kids for standing around while he tried to fix the problem, "I don't need a audience right now, back away!" Matt wasn't able to fix it, I asked him if he could send another truck, he said there was none available. He said he had guns and could turn it into a laser tag party, I asked would I get a full refund for the video game party, he laughed and said, "Not if I turn it into a laser tag party, you will be reimbursed the difference. The kids wanted something if not video games but all he had was 12 guns for 26 kids. He said, "Look, this problem is going to cost me $10,000.00 if not more to fix, I have other parties to be at, what do you want me to do?" I asked for my refund and he said I would have it by 9/22/15. This was a HORRIBLE experience by a highly unprofessional owner, who didnt respect me as a customer and caused a scene in front of young kids and many guests as witnesses. My sons 9th birthday party was ruined. I STRONGLY urge anyone thinking about using this company to use another one. read more
