This was the first time I had implants and so I was a little nervous. Dr Fong and his staff were very patient in explaining billing and the procedure itself. I knew what to expect with every appointment and given clear instructions on after-care each time. Upon returning from my trip, I scheduled an emergency appointment with Luc Dental Care. An x-ray confirmed a large cavity in my wisdom tooth. I was immediately referred to Sacramento Valley Dental Specialists for a tooth extraction. I spoke with a friendly representative at Sacramento Valley Dental Specialists who was able to schedule a next day consultation and oral surgery. The following day I arrived to a group of friendly employees at the front desk that greeted me. Since I filled out the intake form prior to the appointment, I was only seated for two minutes before being ushered to the back. An employee took my blood pressure, administered an x-ray, and informed me that the surgeon would be with me shortly. Shortly after Dr. Fries entered the room and introduced himself. He gave me an overview of the procedure that would be conducted, asked if I had any questions, and then started a short video that informed me about post-extraction care. After the video concluded, I was ushered to another room where Dr. Fries and an employee began administering the local anesthesia. Roughly 10 minutes later, after confirming that the anesthesia had kicked in, Dr Fries began the procedure. Throughout the procedure Dr. Fries and the employee did a great job of communicating what was happening (the wisdom tooth was very stubborn in coming out) and verifying that I was not in pain (although there was slight discomfort). Three days later, strictly following the post-extraction rules, I have no pain (thankfully)...thank you Dr. Fries and the rest of the Sacramento Valley Dental Specialists team!

Dr. Jensen is professional, amazing, and soft-spoken; he explained everything clearly and answered every question we had regarding the procedure. The efficiency was incredible--he removed two fully erupted top wisdom teeth and two horizontal impacted ones in less than 40 minutes under general anesthesia. The recovery was just as smooth; my son was pain-free by the second day using the provided ice pack and post-op instructions. The prescription was sent directly to the pharmacy, making the whole process seamless. His recovery was so fast that he was able to attend his first year of college just three days after surgery! I also loved the office layout, which includes a discreet side door to wheel patients out to the car. Tarah, the receptionist, was a pleasure to deal with and clearly explained our insurance coverage. I've also had the pleasure to deal with Nora (over the phone) and she was a sweetheart. While they require an appointment security fee over the phone, it is applied directly to the procedure. From the text reminders to the expert care, we are so glad we chose Dr. Jensen!

When I walked in the main girl at the front that I learned was named, Crystal, did not even look up from her cell phone to greet us. She pointed at the clipboard and said sign in without even making eye contact. She saw the doctor and then Crystal comes back in the room. She tells us the cost of the treatment and asked multiple times if my grandmother had insurance. Which we knew we would be paying cash. My grandmother has very broken English and every time she would ask a question or was not understanding Crystal was very impatient and snappy and said "wait until I'm done and the question might be answered" in a rude tone. We continued and I wish I would have said something but I didn't. When she came back for her extraction my sister brought her and she said the same girl was rude to her too. Surgery went great but the service with the front needs work. I also tried to call and speak to a manager but was given the run around.

Laguna Vista Dental got my Mom in immediately to evaluate the extent of the dental damage. They found an amazing orthodontist to handle the repositioning of 6 of my Mom's front teeth. They also stayed until after closing to ensure that they could mold a piece onto the front tooth that broke. Dr. Fenton's calm and caring demeanor, as well as that of the entire staff, made a traumatic event less stressful for both my Mom and me. I have always been pleased with their service and attention to detail, but I am even more impressed by their attention to the emotional needs of their patients.

I'm a big baby and for some reason, dental was my least favorite place to go. ;) I have found Dr. Leo Townsend, DDS to be very professional and gentle! All of his staff are knowledgeable and friendly as well. The entire staff works as a team and are like family. I have my teeth cleaning and exams done regularly. From time to time, I am embarrassed to say they find those pesky little cavities!! My insurance covers most of it and I am out of pocket for a few dollars. Now, when they find something forming with their high tech gadgets, I do not wait. When you wait, and after time it becomes an emergency, that's when more work is needed. This office offers much more services than I've used. There's implant restorations, Invisalign invisible braces, pediatric dentistry, and more. The office is very serene and sterile. The bite is off, they've drilled it down twice. The second time they broke a piece off, smoothed it out, then put 2 new fillings in the screw canals. The fillings fell out within an hour of me leaving. They don't respond to my voicemail so I sent an email. Two weeks and still no response. My prosthetic feels terrible in my mouth and they don't seem to care. Its not what I'd expect for the high price i had to pay. More pieces at the missing fillings site have broken off. Some of the staff are nice, but I totally feel ripped off. Where do I go to file complaints? Consumer Affairs, I guess.

My 1 star rating is solely for how the office and billing is handled. The procedure itself and the…read moreoral surgeon was great. The office told me my insurance would be accepted but they didn't submit a pre-treatment authorization so when I arrived for my surgery, I was required to pay the entire bill up front and then get reimbursed by my insurance. I was not told I would be paying the full balance (roughly $5000) up front. The office said they would submit my claim and I would be reimbursed in 2-4 weeks. So, I paid the full balance because I had no other option. After a month, still no reimbursement. The office said my claim was lost when they submitted it the first time so they resubmitted it. Another month goes by and still no reimbursement. The office submitted my claim a 3rd time. Then the office told me to contact my insurance about the claim, which I did, and my insurance stated they sent a check to the office 2 weeks ago. When I informed the office about this, they said they didn't receive a check. I called them the next day after verifying the date and amount of the check and the office said the check was with underwriting. I then contacted my insurance company again and their records show that the check they sent the office was cashed 3 weeks ago. Then, when the office told me they had my check, the amount of the check was less than the amount my insurance sent the office. Also, the office needed me to email my correspondence with my insurance company to verify what I was saying. I continued following up with the office and stated I would come down to the office to clear this up. Finally, after nearly 9 months, I received my reimbursement in two separate checks even though my insurance sent one check to the office. Interestingly, the amount of the two checks combined was more than the one check my insurance sent them so I ended up getting a few hundred dollars more than expected. No, I did not inform the office of this because I think they were trying to not pay me what my insurance reimbursed me and ended making an accounting error in my favor. This office has suspicious billing practices and I will never go to them or refer them to anyone even though the procedure was fine. They have offices throughout Sacramento and I went to the office in South Sacramento. There are plenty of other oral surgeons to choose from
