First time around The type of care I got was wonderful. The Doctor was amazing. And his assistant the second time around The Doctor was very friendly, but his assistant was not. She was trying to take my tooth out and could not get it and she was hurting me and I told her I said you're not gonna get it. just get The Doctor in here. then the assistant she was picking on my tooth because they put too much cement and she was hurting my gums. Medicare with all the bells and whistles has 2 cleanings per year at $0 co-pay, however this office always charges $165 for this service, when questioned about it, the front desk manager claims it's part of the visit, when refused to pay it, the office manager took it upon herself to cancel my appt. that I was there for as punishment. I think someone in this office has a little side business going. There was no one on site that could justify this charge. I can't believe this is going on in today's environment. I don't think they are defrauding Medicare, but rather the consumer. We are an easier target. read more

I would not recommend coming here. Being "100% covered with Cigna" was not worth the stress or the financial loss. My experience was very disappointing and felt like a nightmare for both my teeth and my wallet, similar to other reviews. I was charged for a deep cleaning on my first visit, which felt excessive. A crown procedure later resulted in nerve damage, forcing me to see an endodontist and spend even more money, draining both my insurance and out-of-pocket funds. I also felt pressured by staff to agree to multiple treatments that did not seem necessary. I used to go to Case Dental years ago. Picked up my entire family and got the heck out. Dentist tried to tell me my daughter had 8 cavities when she's had regular dentist visits and no problems. Big red flags came up and I was very concerned. Took her to a different dentist and didn't tell new Dentist about cavities. Funny thing is she didn't have one and to this day (17 years later) she still doesn't. If you want a great, honest, professional, kind and gentle dentist, go to Dr Chun. He is in the same building. Dr. B is a really terrible dentist. He tried to make me get six fillings just to make money, but in reality, only one tooth actually needed a filling--there was no pain and no cavities on the others. I said, "Let's do half now and the rest later," and his face immediately turned unhappy. He even said, "Well, you don't have to do any of it..."--he sounded almost delighted. HORRIBLE STAFF, almost feel like I'm walking into a dealership. Ive dont two deep cleaning services a few months ago and right away the vibe was weird, trying to charge me for things i dont need and trying to force me to take medicine I dont need which they charge 80 dollars for per side!! They accepted my request on not wanting the medicine and everything was cool. (FYI THE DOCTOR IS VERY KNOWLEDGEABLE AND IS GREAT AT HIS JOB) SO TODAY, third time there, which is a follow up cleaning. They try to force me to take the medicine that I do not need or want, and they charging a arm and a leg for it! I would not recommend this practice. I was told I need a deep cleaning at a charge of $600. A standard cleaning was supposed to be covered by my insurance. I was an Registered Dental Assistant and take good care of my teeth. I switched to another dentist and they told me I had great oral hygiene. I wonder how many people also need deep cleanings there? I also was also there to get a dentists note saying I was okay for a hip replacement surgery: no dental infections, etc. They said they would not provide a letter unless I had the expensive cleaning. PLUS, they kept me in a reclining position in their dental chair trying to get me to agree to their treatment even after I said I wanted to be raised up because the position was painful for my hip. I couldn't get out of that place fast enough! Save your time and go to another practice. read more

This office is sketchy. My insurance company recommended them and I had 3 crowns done- and now my teeth in that area is much more sensitive than before. On top of that, they misquoted me... and said I am the one that misunderstood when they know very well what they said to me and the receptionist did not want to take responsibility and continue to be condescending. I just moved to Elk Grove and my insurance recommended Case Dental. I made an appointment for a general check up and cleaning as this was my first visit. The doctor declined my covered benefit of general cleaning because he wanted to make more money and said I needed a deep cleaning and I lost 3 fillings which needed to be replaced. This is absolutely ridiculous!! I go to the dentist every 6 month and have no issues with my last office but this one wanted to make money by saying he can't do a general cleaning because he recommended a deep cleaning. HE REFUSED MY COVERED BENEFIT AND WAS FORCING ME TO GET SERVICES I DO NOT WANT OR NEED!! THIS WAS AN ABSOLUTE WASTE OF MY TIME!! I DO NOT RECOMMEND THEM AT ALL THEY ARE NOT IN IT FOR THE PATIENT THEY ARE IN IT TO MAKE MONEY AND THAT IS THERE ONLY GOAL!! Tried this place after reading the mixed reviews because, frankly, it seemed one of the better choices out of the very motley assortment of dentists accepting my Blue Shield HMO dental insurance. The first time I went, 6 months ago, they recommended services beyond the routine dental exam and cleaning covered by my insurance. I would have to pay for the recommended services out of pocket so I declined (fluoride and irrigation). They were not happy that I declined and after repeatedly asking me why I didn't want their up-sells, they made me sign a waiver for the declined services. Fine. The exam and cleaning seemed fine. They recommended I see an orthodontist, but did not send me the referral even after several follow-up calls. I figured I would let it go until my next cleaning. It wasn't a great experience, but it was a cleaning, which is what I wanted. Fast forward six months. After confirming my appointment via text and email, the office called me and said that they reviewed my last visit and saw that I declined fluoride and irrigation. I confirmed this. They told me that the doctor wanted to perform these services at my upcoming appointment. I told them that I was not interested in fluoride or irrigation. They asked me why. I told them I don't do fluoride for various reasons, and I have never needed irrigation since my cleanings are regular cleanings, not deep cleanings. I was clear that I was not interested or able to add extra out of pocket services to my routine exam and cleaning. I said that I would be happy to sign a waiver again this time. I was then told that the doctor would not perform my exam and cleaning if I did not agree to these extra out of pocket services. Wait, what? I repeated what she had just told me. Yes, I had heard it correctly. I said, "I am not willing or able to add extra services at this time beyond what is covered by my insurance. If that means you need to cancel my appointment because the doctor won't see me, then go ahead." She said she would cancel the appointment. And that was all. Guess I need a new dentist. I think it is egregious to pressure clients into services they do not want, regardless of whether they need them or not (and I don't believe I need either of these services). It is none of their business if or why I choose to decline recommended services. Their job is to perform the routine exam and cleaning that is covered by the insurance I have paid for. Clearly Case Dental has their own best (monetary!) interests in mind, not the best interests of their clients because certainly it would have been better for me to have had my regular exam and cleaning than no cleaning at all. I am happy to have learned this before my next appointment since now I wouldn't trust anything they told me about my teeth. My only disappointment is now I am behind schedule for my routine cleaning. read more

Went here for a tooth ache and was suspicious my tooth was infected since the pain was similar in the past. When I called the woman over the phone was happy to schedule me the soonest appointment. Came in and the process was quick and easy! I was scared to see a dentist again since the last few places I've gone to were really poor in care quality and making me feel comfortable. The girl who did my X-Rays was super nice and fun to talk to! Everyone was right away with helping me and I didn't have to wait long at all at any point. The doctor and techs were very informative and answered all the questions I had. Unfortunately I do have an infection in my tooth and they referred me to a different office for the root canal or possible tooth removal procedure. The woman in the front was very helpful in providing me a with the information about my insurance coverage for it and with scheduling. She got me a next day appointment and was super helpful. Thank you to everyone at this office who was kind and helpful and very reassuring! I have a lot of confidence in this office and will be going with them for future appointments. Even recommended them to my mom and boss since the experience was so wonderful! Looking forward to my future visits here! read more

(last filtered), my lady and I were quoted $730 each for deep cleaning written down on a piece of paper with scribble (Loretta the business manager's initial math was wrong and was $840 [260 + 480--this is 740--not 840--nor even 730? where's the 10 off from? Additionally, the price breakdown on the fillings for my wife were written such that my wife can't even read the writing. There's misquoted prices and overwritten prices 3 times on one page. I have so little trust and confidence in Loretta's business integrity). There was no official looking price sheets of discounted prices for their office that came from or was sponsored/sanctioned by our insurance. The scribble on papers are the kinds of tactics I see at a car dealership with the legal pad and permanent pen. No transparency whatsoever. Like Tim O.'s review, the office is basically requiring both my lady and me (my wife goes to a dentist every year) to get a deep cleaning, refusing to do a regular cleaning (they claim the insurance would reject the claim because we already have periodontal disease--she never had it last year or ever, why now? We've been together 6 years so it's not like we've started a new relationship). I quote Tim O. This is exactly what happened to us: " I informed the office I only want a routine cleaning. I was denied and told that unless you pay for the deep cleaning that they won't be able to do a cleaning at all. " Further, when they tried to book me right away (I didn't even know what service I was making an appointment for but they sure were in a hurry to sign me up before I slammed on the breaks and asked, what's the procedure and how much will it be), and when I demurred saying I wanted to schedule with my wife at the same time (this is April), I was told they didn't have appointments for the both of us until October? Huh? They didn't have adjacent appointments or close appointments for 6 months? Ridiculous. Absurd. So preposterous. But they could get me in their office the very next day? She said so offhandedly that it was just a chance coincidence they had an opening. Uh huh. The doc (Dr. B) who saw me was great. Super nice. But the business lady is a dealing salesperson. I was under the impression the whole time she was barking at me that I was being sold. I'm glad I read reviews upon getting home before commiting to anything. I should have read them before even going. I will try to do as Tim O. does and request a simple cleaning from somewhere else. I felt we were both being forced to get a deep cleaning which is a big out of pocket expense. I will read up on periodontal disease and see what I can do about it myself without the costly antibiotic procedure. Or I will get a second opinion if I can. (No alternatives about what I could do to slow the growth were discussed for me in the office.) Or I'm going to try to go somewhere else if it's absolutely necessary for me to get the procedure done. The business manager gave me the sense they're running a racket. Tim O. and Raj M. just confirms this. I feel compelled and obligated as a responsible community member to inform people about what's going on. Please watch out. Go somewhere else if you can.
