I went to this store to buy some Blue Lagoon beauty products. I fell in love with them after spending several months in Iceland. Sadly, when I arrived and looked around, I couldn't find any. When I asked an employee, she told me they only sell them via their webpage. I was disappointed and mildly annoyed with this sales practice. It's the only reason this is a four star review as opposed to a five star. Aside from not having with I sought, I found the store to be bright, airy, colorful and fun. The staff were all exceptionally friendly and helpful. Parking was easy and close in. The store is in a nice area of town in which I felt perfectly safe and comfortable. My friend and I just came here to shop for makeup, walking in we immediately felt profiled. As soon as we walked in we were welcomed and the employee gave her coworker a look. After that nobody asked us if we needed help, but instead followed us around the store, very obviously, so much so other customers noticed. We tend to dress more alternative, but we are NOT shoplifters. We simply have dyed hair and piercings, as someone who works in retail this behavior is unprofessional and extremely rude. I had a great personalized experience yesterday. I was cordially helped by 3 associates with great conversation throughout them helping me select my wedding makeup, and assisting on how to apply it. Never felt pushed to buy a certain brand or ahh of their recommendations. Cashier was super sweet and asked for my number once explaining why she was needing it - I could opt in or out, no biggie! After a month all I kept hearing was how they "care" about their customers and want to "fix" it and yet no response. Called up customer service- the number they had sent me because of my first complaint again today. This time she said there is nothing we can do. I asked for a manager and was told, we don't have managers/supervisors. I will be going to Sephora now and canceling my Ulta card. For so long I didn't know if the customer service here was really that bad or if I was being dramatic. This is the only ulta close to me. The next closest is 25+ mins from me. So I come here all the time because I am not willing to drive that far. If I were willing though I would because I have never had a good experience with customer service here. I have worked in retail, and I know it can be frustrating, but the women working here are always rude. It feels like you're walking into the territory of some high school clique. Never smile, never friendly, always mad when you need help. They are so judge mental when you can't afford a pricier brand for something. So hard to get help here. I waited around the store for almost 10 minutes and was ignored by several clerks before someone finally stopped and asked if I needed something. She brought me to Stephanie, who was absolutely great. This review might have been 1 star if it weren't for her. Stephanie stopped and devoted her whole attention to me. She asked probing questions and listened to my concerns. She really took her time and helped me find the right shade. She gave the best service I have ever received here. Check out line was very long, stretched half way to the back of the store when I joined to wait. At least the line moved at a pretty good clip, but why should there be a wait at all? Only 3 of 5 registers were open. They should have had all 5 open for how busy the store was. I actually wrote most of this review while waiting in line, if that gives you an idea what the wait was like. I oscillated back and forth between 2 and 3 stars for this review, and decided to round up. It's possible all of my experiences here have been one-offs, since I only come in like once a year to buy one particular product. read more

Absolutely the worst possible place to get your hair cut . I went to Hanna master stylist, I cut hair for 23 yrs , thought I could trust here. She butchered me I have one side of my hair four inches shorter than the other . Have been trying to grow it out for over 1.5 years Now it will be at least a year to get some Growth back.She does not know how to texturize she slices with her scissors. She literally sliced in 4 inches on one side. She definitely does not know how to blend. She was nice but now I'm stuck with this!!!Beware!!!!! read more

I have ocassionally experienced the lack of assistance that a few others have posted about here. The worst example was a little over a week ago when I stopped in to buy replacements for my Bare Minerals products. There were almost no customers in the store at the time but two young women employees were busy "playing with making up each other's faces" and chatting amicably as though they were good friends. They both ignored me even though I was standing right next to them, until finally I said, "When you are finished with your makeup party, could one of you please help me? I need to buy some product. A few minutes later one of them wandered over to where I was looking at the display at trying to locate the products I had come to purchase. She acted as though I was annoying her and offered no real assistance at all. when I mentioned I could not find the "try me" container I was looking for to most closely match my skin color, she handed me the correct container and walked away. Please do not patronize this store! I had hoped the store manager would exercise some common sense, but was sorely disappointed when I visited the store yesterday. I requested an exchange on a BRAND NEW item still in the original box because the pump was defective and was told I could only receive a refund because the item was more than two months old. Keep in mind, I only requested an exchange, not a refund. Though the item retails for $42, I was offered 11 cents. 8 hours and $300 worth of hair damage later: If you are looking for a sign of assurance to find a wonderful hair salon, this is your sign. Do not go here. I was in town for the holidays from Washington, DC and my hair needed a TLC at some reasonable priced salon, so I made an appointment on Ulta's mobile app. Came in to find out I was supposed to come in an hour earlier -- something messed up on the app (so you probably should call to book next time!) and the assigned stylist Stephanie took me in anyway. The body language and attitude she had when greeting me was not very positive. I asked for a blonde balayage onto my current brown/blonde hair with a messy lob haircut. In the beginning of foil processing, I noticed that Stephanie used the hair paint brush to stroke horizontally to create a very direct line across my hair. I stopped her to ask if she's doing it the right way (as in the balayage way of blending it vertically and separately). She assured me that she knew what she was doing. I trusted her. Almost four hours later, I was introduced to myself with a streaky 2000's highlights with a few bold brassy-yellow highlights all over. Think Britney Spears, but year 2020. You bet I was not going to spend a lot of money on something that I wasn't happy with. I requested to hold off the haircut and luckily got a chance to be rescheduled with another stylist Sarah who will be fixing my hair two days later free of charge. Fast forwarding to my appointment with Sarah that morning, I arrived only to find out that I'll either be working with the manager or the same person, Stephanie, who did my hair two days earlier. I immediately asked for full refund that I paid two days ago and asked why I wasn't informed of whom I would be working with. This was obviously not the solution I'm looking for. Like ????? Luckily, Sarah talked with the manager and switched her another client to work with me that morning. She couldn't believe the current state of my supposed-to-be 'balayage', so she explained that she will be doing root down to remove the weird brassy highlights in wrong places, and then add a few balayage sections. All seemed relieving at the moment. Two hours later, I saw myself as a carrot top (but then I was told that she used neutral tones dye-remover to remove the brassy parts and all of the seen warm orange tones were only from the Ulta's salon orange tiles walls/ceiling around us). I didn't exactly understand what she meant, and she reassured me that it all would look much better when I went outside. I gave her a tip out of obligation, because she was sweet to help me get me out of this mess, and lastly, I only wanted to get out of there as soon as possible. Of course, I came home upset staring myself in the mirror and asked myself, "Who the hell is this carrot top?" I couldn't believe the entire salon's credibility. Ultimately, I decided to call the store to request for an immediate refund and they told us that we must come in the store to "get the money back" ourselves. Of course, my sister went in the store on my behalf because I was too embarrassed to show my hair in public to issue a refund, but she had to talk back and forth with the General Manager Denette. It took 30 long minutes to do one simple procedure! On the top of it all, Denette was rude enough to refuse to use pen/papers or her phone to communicate with my Deaf sister but instead forced her to read her lips. My sister felt very discriminated by Denette's attitude towards her disability. To clarify, the conversation with Denette wasn't 30 minutes because of communication issues but because Denette was in denial and did not want to give us a cent. Talk about superb customer service! Despite all the efforts they have given me and tried to fix my hair two times only to screw it up even more, I will not be coming to this place ever again. Don't invest your time and money in this place. Find somewhere else to fix your hair to save yourself the trouble. Trust me on this one! read more

I went in to get a new foundation. A lady asked if i need help and i said yes and told her what i needed. She uses that color match thing and reaches for este lauder. I tell her I can't wear it because it broke out in a rash last time I tried it. She rolls her eyes and goes to get a different brand, she applies some and i say i don't like it. Tries another brand and still not impressed, she then asks how long ago i tried este lauder, which was about 5 months ago. And she says it's her favorite and it's the only one she recommends. I'm like okay well i can't wear it. At this point i'm annoyed and done, so i ask for a makeup wipe to take off the stuff she applied and she goes okay let's try one more. I let her and i look at it and it looks super patchy and not good at all and i say so and she goes well you can always put more on. I say that is okay I think I am just going to hold off. She's like "okay well if you ever want to try este lauder we can color match you" Like lady no! What the hell when someone says they can't wear a brand stop pushing it!! read more

This Ulta is the best in Colorado! Not only the best but it also seems they get the newest products before the other stores. I've gotten my hair done here since 2007 and absolutely love Amanda. I have watched her grow into one of the top hairstylist in The Ulta Company, there are only a handful of stylist at the level she is, in the U.S. I highly recommend this store, the staff and Amanda! Amanda can work with you on hair growth and keep hair healthy. I love that I walk out looking like a movie star each time I go. Ps the makeup artist in hot pink hair is the best. I always look at the make artists before I pick one I think will help me the most and this woman has gorgeous and has done wonders for me! read more

I recently got my hair done at this location. The stylist, Devin, knew not to put any different products in my hair that I did not use in previous visits. Without telling me she put Claritin in my hair and it is very drying and damaging for my type of hair. As a result my hair burnt and frizzed and messed up my curls. When I called back to speak to Devin about it she was very rude so I asked to speak to the salon manager, Alicia. Alicia said what Devin used in my hair would not cause any damage. I was willing to come back into the salon to show them my hair but they said there was nothing they could do. All I wanted was for them to fix my hair. I then called the store manager, Dennett, who was not very nice and very rude. All three of them suggested that I change the shampoo and conditioner I was using. I told them that I have used the same products for years without issue. I called Customer Service and sent photos of my hair and they even said that my hair did not look normal and they could see why I was upset. I never received a call back from Customer Service manager for this location. I had to go to another Ulta location to get my hair fixed which they were able to do. I do not understand why this location could't fix their mistake. read more

When I've been in here before, no one was welcoming or friendly. Ignored the whole time on a slow day. As a licensed cosmetologist myself I completely understand when you get busy. However, it's all about customer service so just acknowledge a shopper. Personally I always feel judged when I walk in there, especially if you're just casually dressed in a hoodie that day. They always tend to look down on you. But today i had 2 very sweet girls that said hi and offered help. The register that I was being rung up at froze and instead of providing accurate and quick service, the manager and sales associate continually tapped the pin pad to see if it would work for at least 5 minutes. We eventually moved to another register and when a sale item didn't ring up correctly because the sale sign wasn't taken down after the sale ended, I wasn't given the sale price. MAJOR retail fail. I did not receive a gift receipt when asked, and the sales associate did not even end the transaction. I said "bye thank you" and she just started at me. I used to like Ulta, but as someone who has spent the past year of my life working retail, I know how things work and I get...it sucks to work retail but as a customer, I will not be returning to this location. read more

My review is for Nikki (sp?), she is, i believe, English, great energy, easy going. She was fun to engage with, typically i avoid the help at Ulta stores, i just dont trust their expertise or advice in general. I have a hard skin tone to match as i have redness to my skin and i've not had good luck with people trying to match me to a shade and a product. I'm quite happy a couple days later with the texture of my skin using Strivectin neck and decollete cream, eye cream and wrinkle cream along with a Strivectin mask and serum set that is quite remarkable in a short amount of time. Usually I shop at the Aspen Grove location, but today I stopped by the Belleview Shores location, and I will never be back again. The general manager or assistant manager I assume was awfully rude to my daughter and I while we were shopping. Instead of acknowledging us what so ever, she just stared us down and made us feel terribly uncomfortable. We needed help finding a product and instead of asking us if we needed help she just stared and followed us. Not sure what we were doing wrong, but we ended up leaving and as we looked back we could see her staring at us as we left through the front doors. This Ulta is the closest to my home, so I typically shop here. I went in yesterday to buy a few items, waited in a rather hefty line to pay, then was called to the counter. I have never encountered such an arrogant, rude person since my years of coming here. She wouldn't even make eye contact with me and would ask me obligatory questions and cut me off before I could answer. I don't know if it was due to such a small purchase, this time, or my age, since I am an older woman, or she just chooses to operate her life that way. I felt very uncomfortable and almost walked out, leaving my items on the counter. Within 5 minutes, at least 7 people had asked me if I was doing okay and needed any help, I think realized they were watching my every move and 4 of them were following me wherever I went. I simply couldn't find what I was looking for, and they kept asking me in a condensing tone if I needed help. I felt as though I was being watched for possible shoplifting (which I have never considered doing), as I said, I have shopped here many times. I felt rushed out of the store, and once I got in my car, I realized I wasn't able to get half the things I needed because I felt pressured and rushed out. Rudest sales associates of any ulta I have ever been to. This is the second time I've left there disgusted with the service and attitude of the associate. I admit I got a little frustrated when I couldn't use the $3.50 coupon for about the 5th time in a row I've gotten one with a catalog, but I apologized to the associate and told her I realized it wasn't her fault and I was just frustrated. She wouldn't respond to me or even say she accepted my apology. Wouldn't look at me or say anything at all. Other times I've been in I've been completely ignored. I doubt I'll be back and will just order online. Manager, you may want to take note and train your staff.
