I had a great service with Tiffany for my wedding hair appointment. I booked from out of town in Missouri as I planned to get married in Hilton Head on the beach. Tiffany gave me the wedding hair of my dreams while making me feel and look like myself with a blowout service and round brush curls. "K" who works in the salon and brow bar, was very rude and dismissive to me when i came in for my scheduled brow wax appointment. she had another woman in the chair and said she wasn't taking anyone and she didn't care if they scheduled an appointment. She rudely looked me up and down and laughed as if i was silly for even trying to schedule. The manager was apologetic and i understand it's not her fault but "K" really needs to learn to be professional and do the job she was hired to do, which isnt running her mouth. In full disclosure I went back and forth between a two and three. So I am between hair stylists and needed to have someone cut my hair as it's been way too long since a cut. I walked in and no other customers were present in the salon. The salon is in the back with an open concept. The hairdresser came to the register and first thought I was another customer as it was their appointment time. Unfortunately they were a no show but good fortune for myself as I needed a cut. I was asked what I needed and I told her a trim/cut. I told I had a lot of dead ends and needed at least an inch off maybe more if she thought more needed to be done to cut off the dead ends and return my hair to a healthier state. She cut an inch and took her time blow drying my hair. I feel she probably should have cut a little more as I could still see my hair at the end a bit dry and wispy. I didn't ask but just made the resolution to find a new hairstylist and to book an appointment in another 6-8 weeks. I used this salon as a last resort due to other hairstylists being booked for at least two weeks. I don't think I'll go here again if I'm in the same situation, but I landed on a 3 as I did get a haircut and I'm mostly satisfied with it. read more

I should have read the reviews. I got a gloss into my hair (that part went well) but then I was told that the blow dry wasn't included. I asked to get my hair blow dried. I was told that there probably wouldn't be enough time but she went ahead anyway and started. Halfway through the blow dry the lady turned off the blow dryer and that was it. I wasn't styled at all. I was charged the entire amount which doesn't seem right. Today I washed my hair the first time and all the gloss is pretty much gone. I was told 6-8 weeks. This feels like an entire scam. read more

I've never been to Ulta before, due to the fact that if my makeup routine takes more than five minutes, it just won't happen, but today I was in dire need of some assistance. As soon as I walked in, I was greeted by one of the most fabulous people I've ever met, Carlos. I am almost certain Carlos is magic. He has a bag around his waist that holds 95 brushes and he whips those brushes around like a magician pulling handkerchiefs out his sleeve, and I know he knows what every one is used for. Went into to ulta beauty wanting to try a concealer only sold at ulta. The girl walked up and asked if we needed help, I said yes and explained what I was looking for. She pointed at the product and attempted to walk away. I asked what shade she recommended for me etc.. she called out a couple shades and walked away. I would have expected her to show me the product, offer to test it out of me. (This would of never happened at Sephora where I am a VIB rouge member). The worst service ever! No professionals on staff here. Hair Stylist Afrika cancelled my daughter's Thursday appoinment 20 minutes prior due to a family emergency (per Kimberly), and rescheduled for two days later, meaning we would both be at Ulta from 12:30 -5:30 on a Saturday. My daughter and I arrived on schedule to be stuck waiting for over an hour for a keratin treatment, who, according to Carole who scheduled the appointment, "only Afrika could do". When I complained to the store manager, she said she really couldn't help because the salon has its own manager. So then I spoke to the manager, who turns out to be Carole (the specialist) who was doing nothing the entire hour we were there. She asked if I would like to reschedule. Really? The sad part is that the stylist would have made a $100 tip in addition to the two $200 services AND repeat business. Do yourself a favor and go to a professional salon in Charleston, Jacksonville or Savannah. read more

I wish I could rate their salon with less than one star. I have never experienced such poor customer service and rudeness from a company as I did this morning. I had an appointment with Xiomara for 9:15 which I confirmed online last week. When I got to the store, the doors are locked but a lady up front let me in and directed me to the salon where I met Xiomara. I introduced myself and she simply looks at me at says "no". I was a little taken aback by the instant rudeness, so I assumed that I misunderstood something. I show her my email confirming my appointment with her and she goes to the computer and starts typing. She asks if I made the appointment online and I said yes. Her response was to laugh and tell me not to do that. Never mind that she was there and there wasn't a customer in sight. She could I have cut my hair- I just wanted a trim, but I would understand her not wanting to if she was unprepared. But there was no apology. No offer to reschedule. Nothing. I certainly understand that computers aren't always perfect. But what I don't understand is how Ulta's appointment setting software is somehow my fault. An apology would have gone a long way, but apparently Xiomara is too above that. I just stood there embarrassed and confused until I left because it was clear that she had no interest in helping me. I have spent a lot of money at Ulta over the years, but that has come to an abrupt end now. The point isn't that there was a problem with the online booking. That happens. But there is never an excuse to treat your customers with such rudeness. read more

In early March, I went online and scheduled to have my hair and makeup done at this Ulta before my engagement pictures on April 20th. I received confirmation that my 7:30am appointments were scheduled via email.... however, on the afternoon before (April 19th) I received a call from the store telling me that they do not open until 10:00am and that the earliest they can do my hair and makeup was 3pm. I explained to the associate that I had scheduled this over a month earlier and that my engagement pictures were scheduled for 9:30am the next day. Not to mention that I was in town that weekend from Augusta, GA and didn't have a curling iron or anything to do my own hair with for my pictures. I also explained to the associate that this was a huge day for me and that no other salon was open because it was in the middle of the heritage golf tournament and Easter weekend. All the associate said was "I don't even know how you booked it that early." And then hung up. I reached out to corporate after this experience and they apologized and said they would make it right.... I still have not heard from them to this day. I told her- "that's fine, what is your WiFi password" She said "we don't have WiFi or service in here" I asked if she can honor the 20% off code- she told me (a week before Christmas, and at 6 months pregnant) to GO STAND IN THE PARKING LOT FOR A WHILE TO SEE IF I GET SERVICE and come back if I do. The absolute worst salon experience I have ever had. I had an appointment with a particular stylist, who failed to acknowledge me whatsoever. I was shifted to another stylist. The other stylist was alright, and I liked her personality. That being said, she also had appointments to tend to. Understandable. What was not understandable and absolutely not acceptable was the fact I was left sitting with hair color on my head MORE THAN 30 MINUTES past the time my timer went off! At 20 minutes I asked if the product would harm my hair, I was told it would not. At 30 minutes I had to insist they find someone -anyone- to rinse my hair. They acted as if this was an inconvenience for them. Finally my hair was rinsed and they told me they didn't have time to dry it. I was absolutely not going to accept that and insisted they dry my hair. After all of this, they had the nerve to charge me full price. I complained to the manager of Ulta and did receive a discount on the service. Discount be damned, I would rather pay the full amount plus and receive quality service than to have this substandard treatment at any price. Please, treat yourself and go somewhere/anywhere else. read more

Went to this salon to get full dimensional coloring which includes highlights, color and toner. I waited over an hour for my appointment which I was 20 minutes early to. My stylist Afrika and I discussed thoroughly what I wanted done to my hair. She put a couple foils in, let them sit for 15 minutes, slapped on toner in and rinsed it out. Needless to say, I did not get full dimensional color and left looking the same as I did when I walked in. Not one ounce of color or highlights was visible in my hair. Thankful after calling corporate the store manager gave me a refund, but I will not be back and do not recommend the salon to anyone else. read more

Trust the reviews! First of all let me start out by saying how much I love Ulta and the Brow Bar with Rosa! I urge you to rethink using the salon for color or a haircut. Let me start from the beginning, I called the salon and the associate answered the phone in a rude tone. I asked if there was an appt. available for that day. She said, hold on a second and then came back on and said she could see me at 1:30 p.m. Thinking, okay maybe I caught her at a bad moment lets see how things go. I show up at 1:15 p.m. and she acted like she didn't schedule the appt. in front of the salon manager. Let me start out by saying we confirmed the time and she took my name. At this point I am ticked off because she has another client in the chair and says she'll be with me in a little bit. I'm a very patient person so I wait 90 minutes for her to get me in. I asked her if she could color my hair like a dark expresso and layer my existing bob. What I get is a reddish brown color, damaged hair, and a chopped up haircut because she used thinning sheers on my hair when it was wet. To say I am disappointed is such an understatement! Please do not go to this salon. I am not the type of person to make a fuss in public but I am so upset that I had to pay $180 for something I absolutely hate. read more

Ulta is one of my favorite stores I absolutely love shopping for make up here. But unfortunately this location is not fun to shop at. The employees here are so rude and unhelpful. We had asked a few questions and not only were we not given an answer we were given an attitude as well. We had asked for a certain pallet that was out, if they had more in the back. After responding yes the employee just stood there and looked at us and when we asked her to go get it she asked "well are you going to buy it or?." obviously we were, why would be asking you to go get it if we're not going to buy it considering the tester is already out. And even if you wanted to ask that question there's absolutely no need for the attitude and almost judgemental feeling that we got. It's a life lesson to learn always to be nice to people. The girl I was with was having a seriously rough day after being through something traumaticand Ulta was a reason to get out of the house to make her feel better but unfortunately it didn't help because of the horrible customer service experience. What a shame. I'd rather drive a further distance to a different location then to go back here and experience that again. read more

I went into this location recently, and this visit, just like all the others before, was never asked if I needed assistance. Most of the time, I know where things are. However, this time, I did need assistance. I know I walked that store three times and was never asked, or even acknowledged. I walked right in front of two associates yapping with each other. I never did find what I was looking for. I did make a purchase of the one item I could find. The cashier wasn't very helpful either. Oh, and I always see customers getting free samples. I'm never offered any. On my way out the door I said goodbye to the associate that was standing right there, once again, I was not acknowledged... she was too busy hollering across the store to another associate.
