I received a call a short while later from the receptionist saying she complained on my behalf and her persistence paid off - insurance gave in and let them handle it rather than me. bigger places wouldn't care enough to do that. thanks southtown!

The office denies it, but I've not had this issue with any other out-of-network provider. They paid out 1/5 of her bill and sent her the payment. Her office claims they didn't get it, so I'm out all the money. Truly criminal to treat patients this way.
